Holden 👀
Matt Hunter Yes sir
@@carsarethereason7111 So what’s your favorite Holden model?
@@matthunter4826 Well I’m in the US so we’re unfortunately severely limited in Holden choices. I own a manual Chevy SS (comparable to the VF Commodore SSV Redline) and it’s definitely my favorite car I’ve ever owned. I have two videos of the inside on my channel. If I get my act together, maybe one day I’ll post something from the outside. I would kill for a Ute though. Are you a Holden owner?
@@carsarethereason7111 I would love a Chevy SS. I would really like to start a grey market import for HSVs like Motorex did with the Skyline.
"After a brief conversation, the pilots are finally convinced to re-route." lol, I bet. 😂
"You want to get shot the **** out of the sky?"
"Well... no."
"Re-route to Canada."
"That's quite a convincing argument. Rerouting now."
maybe it was a quick burst of 20mm that convinced them
😆 my thoughts exactly, they got a yes or no question fired at them. Problem solved 👍🏻
Or hundreds of passengers shouting turn the fucking plane, after seeing the subtle hit out the window

I love the idea of a 747-400 being only three years old.
It's like a newborn child growing up
Well it's in 2001 also
Well now according to flight tracker 24 it’s 20 now
First think that caught my attention.
It was 3 years old in the year 2001.
-"Are you hijacked"
-"Uhh, no?"
-"We don't care, make it look as you were hijacked"

IKR? Terrifying. Wonder why they were not shot down given orders were approved by Canada.

I believe I can imagine how that went down
“do you want to be ******* shot down?”

Found it hilarious that the Governor of Alaska thought that terrorists were planning to attack Anchorage.
Blow up The Moose Lodge!
"NORAD believes a plane flying to your largest city has been hijacked like the other ones today that were flown into buildings." Gov. Harper: "HEE-YUK! HEE-YUK! HEE-YUK! Gawarsh, Mickey - what do that mean!?"
That day was crazy, man. No one knew exactly what the hell was going to happen next. It seems funny now but on that day nothing could be ruled out.
@@stimpy_thecat But what is there to attack in Alaska? There's nothing but hicks like Sarah Palin.
People in florida thought the same. I was late for school that day. my mom brother & i were walking to the office to sign us in we noticed half my school leaving. All we heard Was they might come to Florida. When my mom heard that she grabbed my brother & my hands& took us right back home. We didnt even make it to the office lol
Good god!! How terrifying that a miscommunication could have lost 215 lives.
Would not be the first time.
You know that captain was like "f" this im keeping this plane safe! The military found away to convince him otherwise. Good on them. Good on him.
Sounds like the order was intended as such:
Ground control: squawk 7500 *they will know not to listen if they aren't actually hijacked*
Pilots: well we aren't hijacked but okay *7500*

Damn I just learned something new today.... Had no idea this happened that fateful day
The People Of Whitehorse,We instructed to get their children out of schools.,they had alreay heard about the towers,,,,As people raced to get their kids......the Korean flight, was seen approaching the airport.....terrified people watched as this HUGE aircraft coasted toward the airport.knowing it might be to large to land safely......Very frightening day.....
Unfortunately, that fateful day was planned by the Us government...
@@Mirmirmirm Some members of the intelligence community knew an attack was gonna take place, but saying our government planned the whole thing gives them wayyyy too much credit.

Mike Bressler but this happened in 83, same operator, USSR shot down hundreds of passengers, a miss communication led to a massive death

Nearly 20 years later and I’m just now learning about this debacle ?
22 for me :)
I was in Whitehorse on Sept 12th 2001. There was a KAL 747 passenger plane and a KAL 747 freight plane and a german plane that were forced to land there. The passengers were allowed to go into downtown Whitehorse and there were lots of them there seeing the town. I watched the two 747s take off on the 13th. Before they took off sweeper vehicles went back and forth on the runway to remove anything that might get sucked into the jet engines. I think it was said that 747s had never landed there before.
Why the fuck were you inside of a horse?
Yeah... it was the minimum length of landing strip for B747-400. They had to full throttle their engin before the take off. That's why freighter took off first before the passenger flight. And that jetblast was just messing everything up around the airport...
‘After a brief conversation’ would love to hear that one :) great video as always
You ought to cover other flights which were mistakenly thought to have been hijacked on September.11/2001. Great video as always!
Kermit Da Frog Oof did you watch this video?
L
You depicted F-14’s not F-15’s
This.
Yep he sure did.
I remember the first time a N.Korean ATC operator radioed us as we flew in a UH-64 heading north over Tongduchon S. Korea "180 or be shot down". The manuever was immediate.
I remember this well since my brother worked at Elmendorf (still does) during 9/11 and he called me when they scrambled the F-15s. What many people don’t know is that there is a volunteer perimeter patrol of the entire Alaska perimeter. They range in age from 12 to 93 years old. Though there is paid border patrol, there is hardly enough with the size of the Alaska perimeter. Thus, they have a volunteer patrol. America can thank much of our safety to these volunteers who are unpaid heroes that have thwarted many of an attack that goes largely unnoticed by the rest of the US. They were definitely doing their job that day. I never knew the whole story. Thanks for this video!
Wow, thank you for putting this up, as I honestly never even contemplated the goings on of any other flights on that day, besides the ones involved in the hijackings!
There are several channels doing these kinds of videos. This one is my favorite!
The best by far

World Traveler东北 lt might be your favourite, but it is not the best.
Agreed. The quality is exceptional and the emphasis is always on learning what happened, not on glorifying accidents.
Great job! This goes to show how extremely important good and clear communication is.
Jesus, were these people lucky.
I'll say.
I’d say the fighter pilots are lucky as well. Can you imagine if they did shoot the plane down, only to discover later it *wasn’t* hijacked? That kind of guilt could break a person.
@@MyGamer125 they had authorization to shoot down that plane, but despite the crazy sh*t that was going on that day they kept their cool and didn't get itchy trigger fingers. Kudos to them.
X pilot, you're a legend at making these videos. Well done mate 👍👍
What most people don't know, is that on 9/11/01, NORAD was conducting the largest scale aviation exercises and drills simulating the same exact scenario of multiple hijacked airplanes. Operations: Vigilant Guardian, Vigilant Warrior, Northern Guardian, Northern Vigilance. This is why the air traffic controllers were so confused. In a released FAA recording, one of the controllers even asks, "Is this real world, or exercise?". No wonder our fighters couldn't scramble in time, they were all diverted elsewhere and too far away to intercept.
What an odd coincidence...
What you've said is full of half truths and misunderstandings
Global Guardian is an annual exercise that tests nuclear command and control and execution procedures
Vigilant Guardian was a computer exercise (no planes airborne) testing a traditional hijacking among other scenarios
Vigilant warrior isn't a real exercize
There were only 2 exercises running and the one involving planes was simulating a nuclear attack by the Soviet union if it didn't dissolve
TheReal Lifehacks
There may have been no real aircraft involved with Vigilant Guardian and the other mock drills, but all aircraft being simulated were put into the air traffic controllers video screens in real time, causing mass confusion. Case in point; when the so called flight 11 crashed into the North Tower, there was a false reporting that flight 11 was still airborne, and that it was another plane that crashed into the North Tower. Same thing happened with flight 93. And the generals did not stop the war games/false radar blips, until after all 4 crashes had occurred.
@@jimmyb8060 Not sure where you're getting your information from
But according to reports, 30 seconds after the first place hit the north tower, NORAD was switched out of simulation mode, and 9/11 commision concluded that the exercises ended making the response quicker due to more personal being on station then usual, by the time all 4 planes hit the exercises and simulations had been called off, those phantom reports were from the FAA not NORAD or NEADS
TheReal Lifehacks
Well of course, you are going by the fraud that was the 9/11 commission report. It is laughable that it was stated that with all the war games going on at the time, that it enhanced their competence because of all the filled posts; when the exact opposite occurred that day. Not one hijacked aircraft was stopped, even while being hours in the air. Not one person lost their job, but were instead, every one of them, to a man/woman, were rewarded with promotions. I got my info from a documentary on 9/11, (September 11; The New Pearl Harbor,) as well as dozens of others, that questions the official story with facts never acknowledged or even considered, by either the government, or the media.
You are doing great, X Pilot! Keep up the good work, my friend!
Request: Japan Airlines Flight 123
Thank you so much for this video! I was in awe the whole time! I can't even imagine how the bombers were feeling knowing they were so close to shooting down the plane...
Never knew about that until now. Thank you!
Just wow, so much tension that day. I had heard rumors about this, but never researched it, thank you. New sub and liked👏✌👌
Great job on the videos. Worth the effort.
Great video
Always fun to have ones where nobody was hurt.
Great video once again!! Keep up the good work man!!
Considering what a stressful job air traffic control already is, I can't even imagine how chaotic and harried 9/11 must have been. I'd be interested to read a first person account from someone in that position on that day. As always X Pilot, thank you for you hard work and for sharing with all of us.
I was airborne when this happened, as a 767 check airman qualifying a new FO. I got the information from our company via the cockpit ACARS printer. ATC never said a word to us about it. Received many personal questions verifying that I was still in command, which I answered. Diverted back to our takeoff airport, San Francisco.
If you haven't ever, check out the film 'United 93.' It's intense AF, and about the most thorough, realistic and closest you'll ever see of how it must have been on that plane/flight 93, and inside the ATC towers and what went on that day too in general. The real Ben Sliney, the FAANOM there that morning, his first day on the job there, is in the film in his real position, and it's a bird's eye view of the ATCs in action that morning.
@@MisterMasterShafter1 I agree...It's a fantastic work of fiction.
I was wondering when you were going to make this event as a vid. Very interesting and cool to see
This is the first I've heard of this one. Despite using the wrong tail number and not knowing the difference between an F-14 and an F-15, I'm glad X Pilot posted this. I don't remember seeing in 7110.65 (from my short time as an FAA controller while awaiting an airline job) a procedure to direct the pilot to squawk 7500 if there is confusion about the aircraft being hijacked or not.
Not saying the supervisory controller made an error, just that I never heard of that as a controller. If it were true, it would also seem that I would have learned in 21 years Air Force and 27 years airline to refuse a 7500 squawk instruction if I were not being hijacked. Don't recall ever seeing that during training, either.
So glad it was not hijacked & everyone was ok. Thankyou for sharing.
Wow I never heard of this. Great video you just earned yourself a subscriber😄👍🏼
Another great job by XPilot
Fact - I was on this plane on 18 December 2018 from Seoul to New York. In NYC, at the 9/11 memorial museum, I had a moment of disbelief when I saw it was the plane I was on and realised how scary it would’ve been for others. God damn.
By the way, the Canadian airbase where Korean Air aircraft landed is actually not capable for B747 to land...(Because the airbase was designed for fighter jets, not jumbo passenger aircraft)
I think those pilots have excellent landing skill.
The guy at fault is the ATC Controllers boss who ordered him to have them squawk 7500. That was close. I also remember another 747(?) landing at San Francisco SFO, with 2 F-16s escorting it when it didnt have enough fuel to divert.
Thankyou for just presenting the facts and not overdubbing with cheesy dramatic music and video effects, like that other channel.
The animation in these videos is excellent!
Amazing video
I’m obsessed with this channel
Yay a new upload!
Didn't know Pepsico had bought Korean Air. They've really diversified! 😉

The sad thing is that a lot of lives would have been saved if the planes collided.
@ElaborateTiger An air collision? That would be worse. Besides you have to take in account that the other 3 airplanes were hijacked
@@ElaborateTiger pretty sure the collapse of the North Tower wouldve caused the South Tower to be weakened and collapse as well

I don't get it. ATC wanted the 747 pilots to type in the code to make sure they're not hijacked, and when they do, they think they're hijacked?🤔
Hoss Cartwright no, they are supposed to not type it in to show they arent hijacked
Hoss Cartwright but the pilots did type it in
7500 squawk code is an emergency code typically used in an emergency in order to alert anyone monitoring the radar that something is wrong with the aircraft (especially if the communication links are down)
It’s supposed to trick hijackers into showing that they don’t know what certain codes and frequencies mean, I assume
SheetHorizon21 no thats 7700
What a horrible day to have been flying. The reason the pilots names aren't mentioned is they were fed to Polar Bears on 9-12-2001...
Do you have a proof of that happening?
RRJOfficial Yes there are pictures of the polar bear’s stomach contents
Wow! 🤔...Never heard of this incident before today & now you tell me Polar bears like Korean food too! 😃
Fascinating
Those were not F-15C Eagles that are in Elmendorf AFB. Those were F-14B Tomcats that is only used by the Navy at that time. Also the Tomcats had AC on their tail with a sword, which would be VF-32 "Swordsman" whom I served along side with on 2 carrier cruises, and they were based out of NAS Oceana, VA, which is in Virginia Beach. I doubt they would have been in Alaska.
I wonder when the passengers were made aware they survived only because one of the fighter jet pilots was hesitant with the “go ahead” order long enough to allow the aircraft to land? Gosh, I got nauseated when I thought what a tragedy this would have become, only to add to the multiple tragedies of that day.🙀
Nobody listens to the Canadian Politicians.
I was working as a security officer in Anchorage city hall that morning. This was scary as hell unfolding
Nice vid 👍
I flew on this plane from Seoul to New York City on 17 December 2018.
When I saw a few days at the 9/11 Memorial Museum that this plane almost got shot down, I nearly shit my pants. That’s how scary the reality of terrorism is.
Damn, That was cool. and i didnt see that before when i born 1972.
I am really curious as to what if anything the language barrier had to do with this. This seems like things got escalated far to high than it should have gone and could of been cleared up early on with a conversation.
Michael O I thought about this too I think it likely was a big contributing factor
Nearly 20 years later, yeah it seems things escalated too quickly with this incident. But think about what happened just a few hours before this flight landed. Thousands had just died and we weren’t taking any chances. Looking at it now, it would have been incredibly unfortunate if this flight had actually been shot down, but completely justified (in my opinion) given the circumstances of that dark day.
@@Kybucks10 - Some scapegoat would have been found to blame it on.

@@DirectorBird , it was in U.S. airspace, and continued onto Canada, so it involved both places/locations.
Exactly what I was thinking when I arrived to that mark in the video
First time I've heard of this. I was a reporter in NW Alaska at the time. It was hunting season and the town was full of hunters. Staying in the house next door was a United captain and he'd been on the phone all day. He said United flight 93 had been shot down. The official story is different but on the day it happened that's the news the United pilots had.
James Mason Who had told him that? Wow
This made the Canadian news. I remember seeing the report
The discussion to shoot down this aircraft makes me believe flight 93 was shot down, with such a proximity to important government buildings in airspace that had already been shut down. It had to have been.
Flight 93 wasn't shot down though, the closet military jets were unarmed
@101327 That may be true, but no USAF aircraft were lost that day
Which debunks his theory
Insane. Just insane that norad wanted to shoot it down. JFC
The Air Force loves to shoot things down :-)
'The pilots were convinced' lmao I bet that convo went like this "If you don't reroute you're getting blown out of the sky"... "Oh, okay". That's all it'd take to convince me lol.
Loved how you made this so real what do you use?
Everybody was panicked and paranoid that morning/day. I'm not surprised at all these events took place.
YES a happy ending. I love this.
As soon as september 11th 2001 popped up i freaked out
I was living in Alaska when this happened..the rumor was the jet was heading for the pipeline. It was a very weird stillness with no planes flying
Very interesting.
Oh, wow, that was a close call! Thank God they all got it straightened out!
I’ve never seen an F-15 Tomcat before. Pretty sweet!
This was very interesting
Wow..I never knew about this.
You keeping tabs on those Boeing 737 Max 8 flights that crashed? Apparently they grounded another for autopilot errors. Might be interesting to do a video once all the investigations are done!
KAL 85 regularly flies over my house on the way to JFK. I used to watch it with my binoculars a lot. But it's an A380 now.
Very enlightening! 👍🏼 This explains some of the rumors circulating on 9/11 that additional hijacked planes were in the air. I always thought the rumors arose from mass hysteria among the general public, but now I see that some were fueled by chaos at ATC & the military. The people on that flight were sooo lucky not to have been shot down!
DrKL, can you imagine what the fighter pilot would have felt like if he had been ordered to commit mass murder? It wouldn't have been his fault.
I'll bet an American pilot wouldn't act all arrogant about it like the Russian pilot was who was ordered to assassinate US Congressman Larry McDonald. (KAL 007)
Al Grayson, I can't fathom the consequences. It surely would have devastated any of our pilots.
We'll never know if there were any other flights that had hijackers on them and that they were unable to attempt the Hijackings and just unboarded after their Target flight landed...
I love how they camouflaged those F-15 Eagles to look like Tomcats, complete with the word "Navy" on the fuselage.
Could you make videos about the Indonesian and Ethiopian planes that went down? When u have enough info of course, I love these vids!
Wow, just goes to show the kind of confusion and misinformation that can and will go on after an attack like 911. Thank god this one slipped through the cracks of panic and confusion!
Holy sheet man. When I saw the video’s title and thumbnail with Korean 747 and _American_ fighter jet I knew what date this took place. I’d heard of an incident but didn’t know this detail, particularly that the fighter pilots were given authorization to fire if necessary. - Korea Air Lines seems to attract fighters from time to time...
Silly mistake could have cost hundreds of lives. Love your videos xx
I had no idea this occurred. Wow.
Jesus..... What a crazy day that was.
This is my first time seeing a animation of this incident!
Just shows how disorganized all the different systems are and if they were shot down one hell of a cover up was going to be put into place.
When they were told to squawk 7500 is where they should have realized they needed to inform ATC they were not being hijacked.
They should have given that plane the nickname “Lucky Lady” after that bit.
Wow. I've known about United Flight 23 and delta flight 1989 on 911, but I never knew about this flight. If it's,possible could you do a video on Japan 123 or the Black September hijackings of 1970?
Damn those eagle jets are fast as hell. This is just a crazy situation.
Thanks @XPilot. I had no idea this happened, one of apparently many more untold stories of 9/11. It could have been even worse.
What a strange lesson for the pilots -- they have to know in advance which ATC instructions they can ignore, and when to talk back and tell ATC "You're out of your effing mind!" This could have gone sideways so badly....
Those fighter pilots and NORAD sure were itching to shoot down a civilian airplane weren't they.... scary
Apparently not, since it actually landed well within Canadian territory.
I can't believe that some clown would tell the pilots to broadcast Code 7500.
