I leave the flap open so I can get stuff out easier :) I love this bag I just got it pre loved and it’s fantastic and will look amazing for fall coming up ❤ also it’s a great diaper bag too lol
That is a beautiful bag. The oak NVT just gets better and better and builds up such a gorgeous sheen I have a very old Bayswater East West which I got second hand. The leather is amazing. I’m not a fan really of their new leathers. I looked at a Bayswater oak NVT yesterday actually in John Lewis I’ve got my eye on it for a work bag but might still go second hand. Enjoy yours. I actually just got my first ever Bayswater, too, and it’s the same as yours. I love it so much but I’m keeping it safe at the moment. I usually don’t save my bags but I just want this bag to last me a lifetime! 😃❤
I honestly can't wait to start using it. I was also lucky and paid the price before the increase, so I paid around 1400 euros for it, and soon after they increased the price for around 200 euros. But I work in a bar, so I am scared of using the bag there in case someone spills something on it, and we have our changing room close to the kitchen, where they fry fries and chicken and stuff.... I'm afraid the bag would get smelly. If I had a different job I'm sure I would wear it all the time. It's definitely such a good bag, very classic and durable. Love mine so much
Thank you! I am also in Scotland, keep meaning to get one of those tiny umbrellas, but then whats the point? Half of the time its so windy, they just break 😂 I am torn between mulberry tan bayswater and burberry check dark brown. I’ll prob go to Edi to check both out first. Its a hard life!
I did the exact same thing - ordered the brand new Oak and got it in for Christmas, so I just wrapped it and I was so disappointed when I opened it! It felt like "fake" leather and was very stiff, but I had watched You-Tube reviews on the older Bayswater, so I knew this was different. I returned it and found a new NVT leather (they brought it back for anniversary) in NY store and had them ship it to me. Soooo much better! I wish they would offer the black in the new leather and I would buy it tomorrow!
@@Ohkeh640 It's natural vegetable tanned leather and is really soft and supple (not stamped "grain" leather which is what they use now on most of the Bayswater) so it ages really well and just gets better over time. They do the oak in this color on the website but not in the other colors. The first one I got was stamped and stiff and very structured with some people prefer so it's just whatever your personal taste is. I also feel like the new ones have the really bright shiny gold turnlock and plate and the older ones have "brass" which ages well and isn't so shiny. But again, personal preference. I just got a preloved black Bayswater on eBay for a great price and I just waited for one in really great condition in my price point and I love it (1/3 of the new prices and it's the NVT)
I’ve just bought the oak NVT and I’m surprised how stiff the leather is. I thought it would be more supple. Also, the inside seems so different from the original. Not completely the rough, untreated leather and the edges are stitched differently. I’ve been looking at pre loved ones and it looks quite different. Not sure why they felt the need to change the way it’s constructed. Right now it doesn’t feel like it will soften.
I like the natural veg tan leather too. Yours is a lovely bag. Enjoy! Other Mulberry bags aside from the Bayswater, the following are my recommendations. The Lily (regular size) is very functional, fit for all occasion. The Darley Sachel is a smaller but a very cute more casual bag. I have 2 other favourites but they are no longer in production, a NVT backpack and a reddish smoked brown mock croc shoulder boxy flap bag. Most Mulberry bags I love are in NVT, mock croc or goat skin, I really wish Mulberry would stop using their new plasticky leather. I am not too sure about my feelings for the Alexa bag.
