Ruth is a good Superman. The movie is screwed because Lois Lane was horrible cast and her screenplay is even worse. No wonder that she died leaving a vengeful Superman (Ruth) to be also the head of the Daily Planet. Anyone watched Crisis on Infinite Earths knows what I am talking about. I personally wouldn't mind to see Ruth again as Superman.

If man of steel didn't do crazy epic numbers in the theaters then this movie won't do it either. Snyder made a Superman to match Nolan's Bale batman films as a tone and it still didn't blow anyone away. Man of steel is one of my personal favorites but that's just me. This movie won't do that great sorry to say. I really hope I'm wrong.
Well part of the reason I feel it won't do that well is because James Gunn shot himself in the foot with how he treated Henry Cavill and lied about it.
"If man of steel didn't do crazy epic numbers in the theaters" It was successful at the box office. It did much better at the box office than Nolan's "Batman Begins" did actually. You are being misled by people who are lying online to make Zack Snyder look bad when in reality his movies were doing very well. MOS was the first Superman movie after "Superman Returns" which did not do well. MOS was rebuilding the Superman brand and it was doing very well but then Geoff Johns came in like a snake and ruined Zack Snyder's plans so that Johns can use the MCU playbook (i.e. go against the serious tone of the comic book and make everything into a jokefest). That's what ruined the DCEU. Not Zack Snyder.
What happens if this movie flops? Like what does WB do? Most people I’ve talked to have said they will consider seeing it on streaming if they hear good things… not a good sign for box office numbers.

The snyder films fundamentally misunderstand superman. It may be "going backwards" to some, but these elements are what make superman loved, impactful, special, and what it is and who superman is.

I know some people doubt James Gunn but look at how well received creature commandos has been it’s literally getting a season 2 and all 3 guardians plus the suicidal squad and peacemaker were good if James Gunn had a terrible track record WB would not have hired him in the first place at least this is a connected and established universe unlike the dceu were post justice league everything just felt disconnected

DC and Marvel are the same, there is no real distinction between them other than the characters featured, Marvel is not all comedy and DC is not all dark, both have a wide range of tones across their stories, this dumb tribalistic mentality needs to end asap

@pats3212 Marvel and DC are similar but very different. Marvel's style is that their hero's represent the Everyman. The ideal that you or your neighbors next door can get superpowers and has to learn how to deal with it. DC style is that they are the master of being hero's. They are the hero's who can teach Spider-man on how the game is played. Plus, DC hero's sticks to the tradition of being a superhero. The costume, mask, secret headquarters, a city to protect, sidekicks, secret identity, etc.

Feige did with Stan Lee, James Wan did with Geoff Johns, etc. There's nothing wrong with a consultant, in fact that only shows respect for the source material, heck Gunn had A LOT of veteran DC writers visit the Superman set to discuss about production. Also what James Gunn said about comics is that superheroes are inherently silly, which is completely true, you'll have to be an actual tryhard to believe men flying in spandex is a serious concept, superheroes started as kids media, they evolved past that but their inherent sillines is still a key part of why they are so charming 80+ years later. Being ashamed of the nature of comics and forcing them to be ultra realistic as a result of that is dumb. Gunn embraces the nature of comics and is not ashamed of the source material.
The it's kind of a mess comment makes the most sense. The costumes look like they came from Party City. The story seems derivative of things we've seen Superman do or have happened to him before, and I didn't see anything in it that was exciting but I know a lot of people fell for them inserting Krypto which i've always thought was ridiculous in live action... But they've still got seven months to work on it, so we'll see what follow up test screenings say

At this point I don't get hyped about any cbms. I do hope Gunn's movie is a success so the DC movies can get going. I don't mind the suit either. If the movie is a success that would be cool but if it does not life goes on. Marvel and amazon prime have plenty of superhero content. As far as Snyder is concerned, if he could make another comic book movie that would be okay but if he does not life goes on. Frankly I like Snyder's netflix content and I think if netflix had spent 20-30 million more on Rebel Moon that movie would have really made a mark. I wish more effort would be given to improving what Snyder has instead of what he had.
This movie will do very well I predict just under a billion. With a $460 million dollar domestic and a $450 million world box office, this Superman will be successful. I believe we will have a good run of the new DC movie universe. It promises to be more of a comic book and less real world. I have to admit I am going to see this in theaters.

Personally I thought they messed up the trailer. This is James Gunn we're talking about do you remember the first Guardians movie trailer? The odd choice for the theme tune that sbsolutely rocked! This lacked that! There is an Ultaedits version of that trailer using the Starman theme tune and makes it SO MUCH better! I am having misgivings about this regardless that I like Krypto! Keep an open mind is my point.
The suite is kind of a mess for me not happy with how it looks for me its just to a rubbery too thick and the lines i don't like carved into it even the S sign looks to angler with straight lines . But the colour of the suit looks perfect bold bright and pops how it should be but it just don't get that feel for the film because of how the suit looks.

I think one the actual test screenings get posted on some reputable sites we will see what these people say. But I also hope its not shills or haters because then it will lose credibility. Film Threat gives pretty good reviews on bad and good and breaks down what was seen in the films they watch and not praising the films because their favorite actor or director made it.

I'm sure there is some truth to the report; Superman is such a divisive character that some one could simply hate the suit, or they may feel like its not the Superman they are hoping for and then, they end up saying "the movie sucks". What I hate is the conflicting reports, cause some reports say the test screening went good and some say it wasnt great. Also, I wish we could get some honest numbers from the studios but thats just not going to happen, lol. Gunn did come out and say that Superman is bright in dark times, of course im paraphrasing, but there could be some sort of animal or human experiments that rub people the wrong way, just like the last Guardians movie. If im not mistaken the initial test screenings pissed some people off due to "animal cru-elty" . Anywho.... hope you enjoyed your holiday and thanks for the update bro. Homie, nobody should take these test screenings seriously for both Marvel and DC projects. These alleged screenings are done with a small number of folks who aren't fans of comic book films. The Suicide Squad was the biggest DCEU flop until The Flash barely overtook it. CC getting S2 means nothing. Gunn greenlit his own project. Big surprise.
If he was that good, he would've been the first runner up to direct an avenger movie but they decided to go with the Russos. Talking about success, TSS bombed really bad. Don't even try to talk about rotten tomatoes. CC didn't even make good numbers. People rarely talk about this since after the release of the first two episodes. This is what happens when you put people who prefer Marvel characters in charge of DC. They always try to turn DC into Marvel.
DC and Marvel are the same, there is no real distinction between them other than the characters featured, Marvel is not all comedy and DC is not all dark, both have a wide range of tones across their stories, this dumb tribalistic mentality needs to end asap

Marvel's style is that their hero's represent the Everyman. The ideal that you or your neighbors next door can get superpowers and has to learn how to deal with it.
DC style is that they are the master of being hero's. They are the hero's who can teach Spider-man on how the game is played. Plus, DC hero's sticks to the tradition of being a superhero. The costume, mask, secret headquarters, a city to protect, sidekicks, secret identity, etc.

Feige did with Stan Lee, James Wan did with Geoff Johns, etc. There's nothing wrong with a consultant, in fact that only shows respect for the source material, heck Gunn had A LOT of veteran DC writers visit the Superman set to discuss about production.
Also what James Gunn said about comics is that superheroes are inherently silly, which is completely true, you'll have to be an actual tryhard to believe men flying in spandex is a serious concept, superheroes started as kids media, they evolved past that but their inherent sillines is still a key part of why they are so charming 80+ years later. Being ashamed of the nature of comics and forcing them to be ultra realistic as a result of that is dumb. Gunn embraces the nature of comics and is not ashamed of the source material.
Gunns DC is DOA. Everything in that trailer looked mediocre and if people can't see that they're in denial.
The it's kind of a mess comment makes the most sense. The costumes look like they came from Party City. The story seems derivative of things we've seen Superman do or have happened to him before, and I didn't see anything in it that was exciting but I know a lot of people fell for them inserting Krypto which i've always thought was ridiculous in live action... But they've still got seven months to work on it, so we'll see what follow up test screenings say

At this point I don't get hyped about any cbms. I do hope Gunn's movie is a success so the DC movies can get going. I don't mind the suit either. If the movie is a success that would be cool but if it does not life goes on. Marvel and amazon prime have plenty of superhero content. As far as Snyder is concerned, if he could make another comic book movie that would be okay but if he does not life goes on. Frankly I like Snyder's netflix content and I think if netflix had spent 20-30 million more on Rebel Moon that movie would have really made a mark. I wish more effort would be given to improving what Snyder has instead of what he had.
This movie will do very well I predict just under a billion. With a $460 million dollar domestic and a $450 million world box office, this Superman will be successful. I believe we will have a good run of the new DC movie universe. It promises to be more of a comic book and less real world. I have to admit I am going to see this in theaters.

Test screenings are TEST screenings. They are not the final cut of the film. They are not the cut you will see in the theater.
But there's credibility.
The suite is kind of a mess for me not happy with how it looks for me its just to a rubbery too thick and the lines i don't like carved into it even the S sign looks to angler with straight lines . But the colour of the suit looks perfect bold bright and pops how it should be but it just don't get that feel for the film because of how the suit looks.

Film Threat gives pretty good reviews on bad and good and breaks down what was seen in the films they watch and not praising the films because their favorite actor or director made it.

I'm sure there is some truth to the report; Superman is such a divisive character that some one could simply hate the suit, or they may feel like its not the Superman they are hoping for and then, they end up saying "the movie sucks". What I hate is the conflicting reports, cause some reports say the test screening went good and some say it wasnt great. Also, I wish we could get some honest numbers from the studios but thats just not going to happen, lol. Gunn did come out and say that Superman is bright in dark times, of course im paraphrasing, but there could be some sort of animal or human experiments that rub people the wrong way, just like the last Guardians movie. If im not mistaken the initial test screenings pissed some people off due to "animal cru-elty" . Anywho.... hope you enjoyed your holiday and thanks for the update bro.
