You got it! I was planning on talking about the 400GT as I agree. I used to not be a fan of these because of the over complexities of the relays and switches, but this 400 makes all the right noises and car really get up and go. We may have to wait until spring to see driving footage though! Thanks for watching.
Great little informative film. Are there any major differences between the s2 GT+2 engine and the GTC engine? I note the oil filters are mounted slightly differently.
At one point Ferrari changed the oil filters on the 330s so the late 330 used two of the same filters, while the early engines had one bypass filter. Exactly when, I don’t know. They also had a running change in carburetors from Weber DCZ to DFIs and this goes for both 2+2 and GTC. Generally speaking they’re very similar. Same camshafts, same power output.
Nice video, I would love to have a 330 2 + 2 or a 365 2 + 2 to enjoy the weekends with my family in the mountains here in Rio. It seems to be a great car to make a comfortable ride on a winding road.
These are great touring cars, but require a little more skill and control than any modern sports car. That’s what makes them so engaging! Thanks for watching.
Well-done and informative video about my favourite era for Ferrari - I'd take any of these cars but I have a 1/18 model of the 330GTC on my shelf, IMHO one of the loveliest cars Ferrari ever made.
@@DogsandDoubles the 365GT 2+2 is even better. Power steering, a/c, vented disc brakes, and an independent rear suspension makes it a fantastic long distance touring car. It’s a long car, but I think it was necessary to keep the roofline low. It kind of has the same lines as a 500 Superfast.
With only about 500 SI cars and 500 SII cars, they’re rare everywhere! Even though I have three SII cars at my shop right now, I have to remember how rare they actually are.
You are a lucky guy, or should I say you must be extremely talented to be trusted with these complete gems. As much as I am completely in love with the early racing cars of the 50’s and being born in the 80’s I love the cars of my youth. But the 2+2s have a certain aura of driving perfection grace and usability and those rear seats literally look delicious to me in such a gorgeous and classy package. The 250 gte, 330 s11 and the 365 GTC/4 have a certain something other than the seats- others don’t have. So many are ‘perfectly restored’ that they lose their history of use. We also love to see their natural patina from simply being driven. As busy as you must be please show what others don’t- real world use and how to keep on top of them being driven as well as being looked after. I bought a 1964 330GT America in 1971 from Luigi Chinetti in Greenwich. It cost me $4500. It burned so much oil I ended up putting in STP instead. Someone backed into my car and broke one of the Marchal headlights that took 8 months to get from Europe because there were no spares in America.because the car was so rare. The day the brake system failed was an interesting adventure in terror. I kept the car for almost three years and was glad to sell it in 1974 for $2500. My next drive was a VW Dasher which was a move towards sanity.
I once drove my 330 America on I95 from Savannah to West Palm beach without front brakes just to make it to Cavallino. At the time, it was terrifying, but now it’s just another adventure with that car! It’s funny how time makes things seem better!

@@tomyangnet In the half century since I last drove it I have lost track of the number. It was red. It had no radio which was OK because it was so loud. It had no heater. In the winter you opened a small door in the footwell to allow engine heat to enter the compartment. Once I took it to 135mph and that was enough thrills for me.

With today’s registry and expert train spotters, little clues like the name of who bought the car, or a registration number, and we have a good chance of figuring out which car it was, especially since there were only 50 of these cars made. I do to. The 4 headlight design with the egg crate grill make this car look pissed off and Mean. The series 2 look strange to me because when Pininfarina redesigned it the single headlights make it look like it has too much space inbetween them.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!
I’ve been talking about that all week at the Monterey Car Week. So we should all be out driving these cars while we still can. We can lament the end of an era, or celebrate that we had a chance to be a part of it!
My father had the double light in silver with the Sebring chrome mirror on the driver side up on the front fender unbelievable car he sold it 30yrs back for 120 grand it was in amazing shape he put about 30 grand into the car practically all restored from the inside and out chrome bumpers and wheels and this isn't a small car in its time was big and so soild and ran like a beast. I had the privilege to drive to Atlantic city NJ and back to Philly it was a head turner I think the double head lights is Sexier than the single head light and the back seats holds two adults very comfortably my father had the big round Hell lights mid middle on the upper chrome bumpers. Looked nasty coming down the road and the sound was amazing from the engine the carbs the engine trashing and the sound coming out of those Ansa mufflers people would be like the Fuk is that!!! We would get stopped by the police at times just to admire the car. It brought so much attention smiles and thumbs up all day loved the attention this car brought. I like the double lights cause with the fogs lights coming down the road looked sick and them flat Hella lights at the time they look like a cat eye or snake eye look bright ass hell but didn't hurt your eyes it just looked stunning people would think it was the James bond Aston Martin. Plus the paint my father put on the car was a silver arrow it was a glossy and shinny silver so noticeable he kept that paint gleaming. Amazing machine. The single head lights looks too plain to me but everyone has their own taste. The double lights gives it that mean look with the big 8 inche round Hella fogs lights on it gives more to the look of the front of the car. Sexy ass hell

We went a the way to Atlantic city and back to Philly driving what an experience unforgettable 👌 it was a rush heart pounding every second. Lol 😆

The GTC is a very nice driving car. It’s got a lot going for it. 4 liter V-12, transaxle, true 5 speed gear box, and good brakes. You have food taste!

I like the GTC too, and they drive really well. The nice lines along with better brakes and a transaxle makes it a nearly perfect Vintage Ferrari!

Do you know when Ferrari switched the Location of the ignition lock from left of the steering wheel to right?
All the 330s had the ignition switches on the right side of the steering column, but the 250s varied.
