For some reason not a lot of people like these corvettes I have the same car but with a tan interior and cloth seats and I love it it is my first muscle car and they are relatively cheap a perfect starter car.
This video it's very beauty. It's my style of You have used photografic tecnic in this motion picture. Very good. About the Corvette C4: it's wordefull. And the engine: walk around smooth at 1000 rpm and the mpg it's 13 with a V8 5700 cc. Very impressive. In Europe a 2000 cc gasoline have equal average! And in Europe the people talk: "the american cars it's very poor for average gasoline use. Mad people. Wonderfull USA car!
Yes but w/o the effortless torque also you can completely neglect the near bullet proof sbc and it will still be running at 200k miles. The MPG on the highway is more like 25, 13 is the in town stop & go mileage. It makes that MPG while moving a 33oolbs car with an automatic trans. American say European cars are too small and gutless... Cute but impractical. Gas is also much cheaper in the USA. 1 of our gallons is very close to 4 liters. Even now with shortages caused by the hurricanes 9/11/17 I paid only $2.45 a gallon US. So the price of gas changes the balance. Also, small cars with buzzy engines get tiring on long journies. Over the long labor day weekend. I drove 5hrs to visit relative in Dallas Fort Worth area. this is in Texas is the 2nd largest state in the union with good long mostly Straight roads. Think Autobhaun with low-speed limits75mph =12okph, but most will drive 80-mph=128kph. most of the way. A Little tip the interstate highways are numbered so that most of the even numbers run E & W while odd numbers run N & S also the loops that drive around major cities end in 10 such as 410 for San Antonio or 610 for Houston.
That is a magnificent car you have Sir, if only we had such nice sounding V8s in the UK! You are lucky to live in America and have access to such great sounding engines.
love how original it is, also you can tell this was something from the 80s from the boxy shapes to it and of course the center console with cassette storage
I am so stoked!! I just bought this identical car for 2200 dollars last week..Its not quite as nice as this one but it is all original and hasnt been messed with..I had to replace the cluster 300.00..Glass top 330.00.Headlight gears 25.00 and a original bose delco 50.00 with all 4 speakers........It is DONE!!..It has the original seals which have been well taken care of too...85k miles...How much does it sound like its worth?? It is super clean but probably not as clean as this guys on here!
Great video, however I can’t get over how many times you have the camera view on the wheels...they are installed backwards. From the factory they were installed with the points forward so that the vents catch air to cool the brakes.
Like a trip through time. I hope this car is still all original. At the least new exhaust work. I haven’t did the research but I think the CFI can be modified a bit. I know a 383 would wale her up.
Ran into a pretty beat up silver C4 on the side of the road for sale for $3500. I’d like to get it for a first car but I’m not a mechanic and I don’t think I’d be able to dd it. Especially since I live in Canada-I mean Maine
Nice car. Good video. Looks like your oil pressure sender may be bad. 80 psi is not real. Mine read 85 psi when it was bad. Now I have an accurate reading. If you do change it out I would suggest getting the best on you can find. Not cheap, but I made the mistake of buying the cheap one and had to replace it a week later. Nice car sir!
Je suis français. Et tu détiens la meilleure vidéo de corvette c4 tu et un amoureux de se modèle ça se voit je viens d en acheté une a très bientôt Eric
+RonTaboga Not entirely sure. but i believe the crossfire injection has something to do with it. or maybe the block cannot handle that temperature. not sure though.
It's because GM put a tiny ported intake on it causing it not to rev up. If you port or swap the intake manifold it will rev up to I believe 6,000 Rpms max. Also you'll be a lot quicker in acceleration
They are very good engines. Don't listen to people when they say Crossfire is crap. If you keep it in good shape, check everything it will stay good. Crossfire does have some flaws, but make sure that everything responds right, It will work correctly. I had 2 of them, both great cars. I sold one because i didnt need 2. If anything goes wrong, just look it up online it will tell you what to fix. They also sell many parts for them and you could put upgrades on it as well.
They are sbc the injection was the major problem. I won;t say most, but many were converted to carburetors. The most common problem was a start and stall issue. After the 2nd start, they usually ran fine. The issue was usually the IAC (idle air control) being out of adjustment. An easy fix but none knew back then finally GM released a TSB ( TROUBLE & SAFTEY BULLETIN) on it.
L83 is the type of engine put in the corvette. It's the crossfire. All 1982 and 1984 corvettes are L83's. It doesn't matter if it's a manual or automatic.
My dad has one same year everything except the color and parts he rebuilt it with.the color of his is midnight blue, awesome right!plz subscribe me to I will be making videos but the video I have my brother did so he is stupid
Nine minutes and 34 seconds very well spent. Thank you. Early C4s are under appreciated treasures, and this one is obviously well loved.
Thanks for the positive comment. Corvettes are cool! Even the "slow" ones. YES!
@@BigRodJohnson69 yea lol except none are slow 😅
@@BigRodJohnson69 except the early inline 6 c1s case but all the others v8 c1 c2 c3 c4 and up are very fast
This was my dream car when I was in high school. Now 33 years later I am getting a 1986 Vette. Beautiful car, thanks for sharing.
For some reason not a lot of people like these corvettes I have the same car but with a tan interior and cloth seats and I love it it is my first muscle car and they are relatively cheap a perfect starter car.
Andrew B They’re great Corvettes! Finally starting to appreciate in value
For me corvette got interesting starting with this era

Cool C4 Corvette with the right colour red on black...great, and this one looks in great condition!!!!
love how original it is, also you can tell this was something from the 80s from the boxy shapes to it and of course the center console with cassette storage

I forgot almost all the cars from the 80s had a top speed of 85 lol. It's still a very nice car, great video
superkryp13 The speedometer is numerical at the bottom along with the side bar gauge. It goes uo to 140 mph
My truck says 85 mph and i had it bottomrd out going way faster than that so the gauge doesnt really matter, some cars might say 200 and cant do it
This guy has more on his mind than just Corvettes.
That car looks cleaner and newer then my 1995 Vette !!! NICE !!!
Villy Rivera Check out our 84 vette! Garaged it’s whole life
Nice looking corvette I am thinking about saving up and getting me 1984 with the cross fire injection.
Hell yeah i just got one myself for my first car 😂🤙
Cleanest '84 I've ever seen. Hope this car is still around amd in just as nice a condition.
Nice Video, this Vette seems to be well cared for. Nice to see that you even got the spacer in the back glass, which prevents wind noise.
My dream car back in the day. LOVE the red accents. I would pay big time for one now!
I have one too
bought it 41 years ago
sets in my barn with
804 miles
all original
Thanks for this video! I'm looking for an early C4 of my own. Your video's show the unique qualities of the C4 well!
I love early C4's just bought a gold one my self about a month ago.
STOOGE MEDIA
Hi I had a poster of one on my wall when I was 16 same color gold. I just bought one, a 84 so very excited!
I bought my 84 mint condition, red on red, all original, low miles, glass targa top for 31500
god dam cleanest 84 ever.
The crossfire injection looks quite crude, but effective!
Great video, however I can’t get over how many times you have the camera view on the wheels...they are installed backwards. From the factory they were installed with the points forward so that the vents catch air to cool the brakes.
Beautiful
Amazing car...hands down best looking vette pre C6
Amazing interior. Mine is all grey/fabric.
Like a trip through time. I hope this car is still all original. At the least new exhaust work. I haven’t did the research but I think the CFI can be modified a bit. I know a 383 would wale her up.
Do you still have car, looks great
Where did you get the Corvette white logo black padded door sill protectors .
Is that stock exhaust? sounds great, have you done anything to it removed the cat converter? How can I get that sound?
So fire
Ran into a pretty beat up silver C4 on the side of the road for sale for $3500. I’d like to get it for a first car but I’m not a mechanic and I don’t think I’d be able to dd it. Especially since I live in Canada-I mean Maine
-and by pretty beat up I mean it probably doesn’t run well, needs restoration
Mint conditions, congrats! How does the cross-fire work if you still have it?
Nice car. Good video. Looks like your oil pressure sender may be bad. 80 psi is not real. Mine read 85 psi when it was bad. Now I have an accurate reading. I just saw one for 6000 in Canada.. damn pretty good.
Automatic trans should never even been an option for any corvette, this car is a beauty though despite the trans
Je suis français. Et tu détiens la meilleure vidéo de corvette c4 tu et un amoureux de se modèle ça se voit je viens d en acheté une a très bientôt Eric
Big rod Johnson 69....guess we’re in middle school again
Nice vette, what kind of rear window spacer is that? thx
Very Nice
do u still have that car?
The yellow RPM line starts really at 4500 rpm??? Why?
+RonTaboga Not entirely sure. but i believe the crossfire injection has something to do with it. or maybe the block cannot handle that temperature. not sure though.
It's because GM put a tiny ported intake on it causing it not to rev up. If you port or swap the intake manifold it will rev up to I believe 6,000 Rpms max. Also you'll be a lot quicker in acceleration
Because the redline was at 5000. these were low-speed torque motors.
Que motor trae ??
Are those engines garbage? I've heard bad things but I want one. Help me out.

Iam thinking about the C4 .
I bought this car for 2400 with 80 miles
It must've been destroyed
I own one great car so far
I cringed really hard when I saw that bra
This was the slowest of them all! Spitin out about 200hp and just enough torque to do a burn out. Don't race your friends though you lose
If you are referring to the c4 you're correct, but in the right hands can be made into something that would surprise you..js
Love vettes, but not the late 70's/early 80's plastic cheap-o-thon era. At least I have my 2020 gt350/2017 CS
El cheapo plastic got worse in the 90s
does all of the 84s automatics have the l83?
L83 is the type of engine put in the corvette. It's the crossfire. All 1982 and 1984 corvettes are L83's. It doesn't matter if it's a manual or automatic.
Yes, the L83 200/205hp crossfire injected 350 was it was the only engine offered.
My dad has one same year everything except the color and parts he rebuilt it with.the color of his is midnight blue, awesome right!plz subscribe me to I will be making videos but the video I have my brother did so he is stupid
Sounds like a washing machine.
