so great to see practical "on the ground" examples of broken money and how bitcoin can help. And from a "clear eyed" and realistic point of view. As much as I love going down the bitcoin rabbit hole of continual self education its refreshing to surface from time to time and "smell the roses." Bitcoin is for ordinary people not just intellectuals and maxis.
Thank you so much for this type of bitcoin content…. So refreshing to learn about bitcoin through actual use cases and not just two people sitting at a table talking about it…
It's crazy that people who accept cash only don't seem to realise that their fiat physical coins and notes can still be debased in exactly the same way as a fiat digital currency. Inflation still evapourates their purchashing power just the same.
Try to bring a truly new idea into this world, like..."the earth is shaped like an hour glass" or...Bitcoin. New ideas in general and Bitcoin in particular are not comprehended simply by brain cells. The understanding happens with your entire, whole being - if it happens. Such 'new ideas' do not happen so often in a lifetime; at least, I never came across something as mind blowing and solution providing on so many levels as BTC. I'm not sure what exactly it needs for mass adoption, but I sure get why it takes a long time to grasp for unfortunately most people. I mean I think I got it but I'm still learning and get surprised (since 2015) all the time. And I've been in awe for that long, too. 😳 Have mercy with your fellow humans...it's a big one.
Wow, Joe! You’ve just unlocked the Swiss version of ‘Crypto Hogwarts’ with this tour! 🧙♂✨ The blend of history, innovation, and secrecy in this Swiss crypto hub is mind-blowing. Love how you broke it down, definitely a bucket-list destination for any crypto enthusiast. Thanks for taking us on this epic journey! Can’t wait for the next one! 🔥”
Thanks a lot for the video, very good! People who prefer only cash are pretty legit, I think they simply don't understand that Bitcoin has the same physical property via the seed phrase written down on a paper
Your shows are inspiring me to go to small towns across the world to help them get started with Bitcoin! Have you done a video like that? Also, did you use a bitrefill for all your purchases in this video?
would be really interesstiing to find out, why merchants use crypto... can imagine that the transactions cost of cyrpto in comparison to credit card is cheaper... so do they subsidise the merchants so they get on board? all merchants have the same payment terminal, what is the company behind it, is it really profitable? especially why bitcoin? in comparison to ether L2 tokens even with lithinig it's slower and more expansive, seems sus to me tbh
and bitcoin is pseudo-anonym so not really goof for daily transactions... I see the use-case as wealth-preservation as a saving-acc but not for daily transactions...
Do you have to pay Capital Gains Tax on every single Bitcoin transaction no matter how small and including transaction fees in this jurisdiction? That is the way it works in UK and USA. You need to account for every single Satoshi you spend and keep a record.
In the uk there is a certain amount that is tax free … but is the govt really gonna come after you for buying a coffee with btc? I don’t live there anymore but I think they have bigger fish to fry than someone like me doing a youtube experiment 😜
@@JoeNakamoto I think Capital Gains Tax needs to be removed from Bitcoin altogether, as Robert F. Kennedy has proposed. But yes they won't touch you for small amounts. But its the requirement to keep accurate records that is the problem.
Come to switzerland and you can sell your bitcoins without capital gains taxes. Also stocks, gold etc. Thats one of the reasons we have a lot of wealth here. 🇨🇭
I love this content. Why ? Because it is telling you about the pratical use of BTC or Tether. And the future. All the laggards will say: "no future for BTC" because you cannot pay with it. And of course Swiss will dive in. Please tell more. Payment or BTC cards review. Show people the usage of BTC. I think that is still an obstacle for many. Also for me. I am into BTC to HODL what about stablecoins etc. Enough to explore and tell about. Not only candles again. I was there when the internet started. Sooooo much resistance, because we did not know. Educate !!!!
Sorry that’s my British perspective coming in there a bit too much!! Yeah Zug is a great place to launch a crypto token but it’s not great for actual adoption. I will go there at some point soon :)
@@JoeNakamoto Haha yeah I thought you might think it was the same for the Swiss Franc 😂. Oh didn't know? I know Bitcoin is quite easy to pay with in Zug as well
I fully support this great idea of the city of Lugano but for me Bitcoin is primarily a store of value. For now I do not want to spend it but rather save it.
@JoeNakamoto Sorry I didn't mean to be so blunt, but, it's becoming obvious that btc will be used as a cbdc. Therefore, you'll still be a slave in the system. As an alternative I suggest privacy coins like monero, zano etc.
@@Martintown-r no thank you. i like my money secure and decentralised like Bitcoin. Privacy is a challenge on bitcoin but it's still a much better idea than what you're talking about

Pining your comment. Thanks!
Another great video, Joe. Lugano is awesome.
Agreed! Thank you matey 😃

There’s a real need to SHOW people bitcoin while simultaneously testing the tech
Great video, THANK YOU! I now know what I'll do next on my yearly Ticino trips.
great work Joe!
J'adore ça ❤️. Tellement éclairant sur le BTC
Merci !! Jai d’autres vidéos en français si ça t’intéresse :)
keep doing the good work Joe! One of the most underrated bitcoin channels.
I appreciate that!
Best decision I made this year was to subscribe to you're channel
Why thank you :D

Really enjoy your videos. 👏
Your content is on such a high level 💪

If i would be forced to hold cash it would be CHF

They’re slow to learn but hopefully they’ll get there soon
I've tried explaining this to countless people... Maybe 2-5% get the lightbulb moment after thinking about it... So tiring with the other 95%

There is also the advantage with cash that you avoid the ~3% + 30 cents charge on every transaction, by the credit card company
No what you don’t realize is that they accept cash only to avoid taxes. Not because they don’t believe in virtual stuff.

Fascinating!
As long as my salary is still paid out in FIAT, I want to get rid of the FIAT and not Bitcoin.

in this video I mostly use Phoenix wallet and sometimes Blink wallet

Is cheaper to use btc yes. Mastercard / visa is from 0.6% to 12% depending on many factors
In Switzerland, you can easily buy Bitcoin on each Railway machine (SBB Automat). Have fun!
Good to know! I will do this on the next visit

lol to be revealed in an episode in a few weeks 😊

Why the hell you went to buy tobacco instead of some good cannabis ?? Disgusting! But other than that good video!
i didn't buy tobacco lol-it was just to prove it. I bought postcards from that shop :D
