great video, is there a way to start with a starting image to then make a tiled pattern. The ones I have tried change the starting pattern too something completely different. thanks
HI, I am not sure what you mean? Do you mean if you input a reference image for midjourney - if so then no, MJ won'y give you an exact replica. You might get something a bit more similar using Leonardo because you can change how much it adheres to your input image. Although, I personally don'y have much luck with Leonardo, I find it a bit hit or miss - more miss than hit. There's another app called Repper which you might like to experiment with where that takes elements of the input image and makes patterns a bit like a kaleidoscope.
I've started to think about selling these on Etsy but most videos I see take the image over to photoshop (which I don't have) and do all sorts of editing and layering. Have you found that your patterns are suitable without that? I realize they need to be upscaled but is that all?
I think Midjourney have just stopped offering free versions because they’re overwhelmed, but if they start again then yes the results will be the same. But you won’t be able to use the results for anything commercial with the free version. I think you can though, if you try Leonardo which also do a tile option.
@@mortalandwild yes, using the tile parameter in V5. I think it depends heavily on what you wish to use the output images for. You may disregard weird artifacts for personal use, or if you want you can spend some time editing flaws out. But unless it's abstract art, I haven't had much success in generating patterns that would be flawless. I don't think V5 tile parameter is much different from what we already had in --test. Except we used to get only 2 images and now we can get 4.
@@almostpsych yes most ai needs some editing, but the prompting style makes a huge difference in v5 too. Things are improving all the time at such a fast rate, I am excited by the progress.

Great video, I started experimenting with tiles after watching your video and with some very nice results.
Great to hear!
Well, I guess I'm upgrading to the standard or pro plan because it looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of trial-and-error
Yes it's very addictive isn't it.

It’s always a good idea to check them jic, but yes they have been really great thus far.
@@mortalandwild Thanks!
If i do with free version, will i still get amazing results? Or i need to have premium version?

@@mortalandwild i am using free version right now. But how someone's gonna know if i used free or premium version?

are you using the -tile parameter in V5? Mine are coming up good, generally.
