Guys i had to make this video into 3 parts reason being the video would of been way too long, i'll be dropping part 2 tommorow then part 3 the conclusion the following day hope you enjoy. please remember to hit the like button if you enjoyed it
Excellent production values on your videos LLF. Your going the way of a good wine! Keep pushing this excellent content and the subs will come. 100k by the end of this year please at least
The quality of your vids are getting better with each one and really like the banter you bring with all the people you meet up with. 🙌🏽 preview for the next vid looks jokes 😂
That 4 door is such a great daily driver for commuting and running round town going out on town one or two weekends a month. Not appreciated at all over here stateside coupe is king. Just fun car to throw around town. Only issue is people expecting it to be a track car or do what M3s from gen 1 or gen 2 did and be a alternative to cars like 911s or ferraris from back in the day just being one of the top 5 fastest production cars on the road at the time. They are just agile fun dailies worth keeping while under warranty with no money down lease being absolute best way to have one for a few years.
IMHO the F80 M3 shines because it's a jack off all trades. Great daily driver and great at the track. I love a manual as much as any one, but the DCT makes it feel more special (exotic feel with the quick shifts), better around the track and better for city driving. I'd love a manual E46 or another manual "weekend car", but for an all around car that feels a bit special I'd go for the DCT every_single_time. Didn't notice the jerkyness on the competition package M3 I drove.
I'd get bored of an auto in less than a week. Novel at first but then :( The manual box is superb and makes driving these great cars so much more enjoyable.
you're just a salty bitch. Manual or DCT is a personal preference, I have a manual 6 speed 2017 WRX and I'm loving it. I was at the bimmerfest last week and I had an opportunity to drive a Manual and DCT f80 m3. They're both great but I prefer the DCT.
dual clutch paddles in any car are a natural progression. understanding cars, i'm often confused as to why manuals are still preferred but we like what we like despite inefficiencies.
lol your right as in it's a natural progression, but surely it's not that hard or confusing why people still like to drive a manual box, ill be honest only after putting these video's together am i realising my self how cool a manual box is
People like to be overwhelmed while driving for fun, that's why we like loud exhausts and speed, that tenuous line where your skills and your death walk on the knife edge. Manual just adds a whole new layer and in some cases allows you to be a bit overwhelmed while doing low speeds. For example, the GTR (and 4wd in general), for most people, after a couple of months, all that power of the GTR doesn't put you on the edge as often, then you have to go to very silly and very fucking dangerous speeds just to get to the same edge as you would get at a much lower speed in an m3 mt for example. If you are not chasing track times and have a very easily bruised ego (that's why a faster car to safe guard ones ego is important), a mt makes a lot of sense.
The decision is not as simple as it always has been. I’m a die hard manual gearbox guy. I’ve been racing hill climb and tarmac stage rallies for over 20 years now so I now have a m135i f21 hill climb racing car with 6 sp manual and my daily is a f21 m140i with the 8 sp dct that has been remapped st2 along with the engine. For me the dct is the better daily driver and the manual is better for hill climb racing so that’s what I got
ok cool, depending on where you live i'd recommend company nearby. They all give quite similar performance gains but id say choose a company nearby incase you ever have to go back for any problems.
Great part 1 - love the f80 M3 but what puts me off ownership is the depreciation. You have one and stick 20k miles on it and use it like it should be used for you've just flushed at least 10k down the shit shute
Mr Woolfdog36 true, but when you buy the f80, it's out of passion not practicality. Enjoy it don't worry about the depreciation. Remember you only get one go round in life. Enjoy it! Drive it like you stole it!
LivingLifeFast LLF well I'm really looking forward to the next vid. Someone who had a 6 spd m4 once told me the car wasn't really made to be a manual that he wished he got the dct. I don't know what the hell he meant by that but things like that worry me.
bro that is so not true but then again its like everything in life you'll just never be satisfied, even i sometimes feel for dct mainly for comfort reasons. Tomorrow's video should be interesting i'm still up editing it now hopefully should be up by 6pm

Have just subbed bro.....nice video ....now need to find time to watch the rest of your channels content 😉what tune /map has the dct m3 have ?
Loved it bro!
F80_m3uk 👌 my dads got a m4 with DCT so I'm picking the DCT
terrible choice ;)
High Frequency shut up mate, they both agree that the manual is a pain in the arse sometimes, so it's all preference u knobhead

wait for part 2
sometimes worse is better... its all about feeling. making perfect gear changes yourself is very satisfying and fun. IMO
yea, the manual reign supreme but i stand by my assessment. nice video!

Top lads no bulls*** 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
What a mental sounding car.

Peter benn pan his car is gad tuned, it runs 500bhp with a stage 1

TomMichellAppDev thank you. In the right hands it's a weapon
*03:08** Oooooooh STIIIIIIIIIIING!!!*
Lol I think you like the dual clutch a little too much. Really hope it isn't THAT superior to the manual because I want mine in a 6 spd.
LegendInThaMakin no 6 speed still the way forward
LivingLifeFast LLF well I'm really looking forward to the next vid. Someone who had a 6 spd m4 once told me the car wasn't really made to be a manual that he wished he got the dct.
