Sigur Rós music always makes me feel simultaneously depressed and hopeful. Their music is beautiful.
Lol me too!❤️
I thought it was just me who felt like that 😅
They Touch Humans Souls 💝
Encapsulated wistfulness.
This is a total "eh" piece [english pronunciation ""hey" with a silent H]. The "eh"; it is at the same time heartbreaking, hopeful, sad, endearing and tragic, as well as the most profound feeling of love and joy of life. The "eh" is hard to explain, because I still haven't found a word in English that describes this emotion. It's the reason I cannot see animals in pain , or even watch them prancing in joy on a screen. Why I get tearful watching a mother and daughter eating ice cream silently together as I'm walking into the grocery store. It's coming a bit close to the impermanence of life, and not really knowing how to deal ... hence the slow breath out .. the eh....
Ten years... I've waited ten years for this!!! I'm literally crying right now. Their music helped me through so much pain in my life. I cannot express in words how much this means to me...
Dude, halfway through it and I started crying. It's so beautiful. Their music has saved me so many times and we have the privilege for more music now.
They helped many of us.
@@rupman27isback indeed they have
Enjoy my friend. I too weep. This band mean so much.
I agree their Music is just beautiful. I also had the same experience of healing after I lost someone I loved so much.
How is it possible that Sigur Rós has the ability to compose music so delicate, so fragile and at the same time it can make the most indifferent soul cry?
How does Sigur Ros keep making such beautiful music?
It’s magic again.
THEY go to a deep place within themselves and come up with LOVE! [of course!;]
They know the sounds that please the soul they are true musician’s.
@@Slaphappy-_-What is a Messenger? How does the voice of Angels Sound? 🌌
@@SeelenTaucher all I know is they will play for God
Kjartan is the secret of the magic. The magic came with him in the late 90's and left when he was out for one album. But now he's back, thanks God.
February 2000, second year of college, sitting on my grandma's couch watching Svefn-g-englar music video on Mtv. My life has never been the same.
We live in a very sad world with so much pain yet there's beauty in all of it.
I'd put it the other way around. We live in a beautiful world but we make it so sad with so much pain in it.
perfectly said
@@D0nlyJuanBased
The world is in the most free, peaceful, abundant times modern humans have ever seen.
The world is not beautiful, therefore it is.
finally some uplifting music 😭
but seriously: it perfectly encapsulates the dread of knowing that we're sliding into a catastrophe and absolutely nothing is being done about it. in a way it perfectly represents our future: a hot, dying earth which grows mostly inhabitable for people living on it. it's a truly moving piece of art
Mate, I almost spilt my drink here.
Only the old world will die and earth will heal ❤
LIVING on it? They all look pretty dead and decomposed, to me.
The lyrics are mostly about homesickness but being too hurt to go home. About the farce of being famous, putting on a show despite it all. Wanting to go home but "ekki nu, ekki nu", "Not now, not now"
Our future is to die. Humanity will end sooner or later.
The only band that ever brought me to actual tears during a show. It was Beacon Theatre on the Takk tour. I was sobbing at the end, looked around me and everyone else was too.
I saw them on the previous ( ) tour and had the exact same experience. At the end of the show I didn’t just weep. I sobbed uncontrollably. And for years, I could barely manage tears. But that show tore something open inside of me.
Same. Watery eyes listen to them live in Glasgow. Full body goosebumps.
Thanks for sharing this! I saw them in San Diego and at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California. Wow ! What a wonderful group of musicians ! Stay awesome, everyone ! ☀☀☀☀☀☀☀
I see them every chance I get and I cry every time
In NYC?
The band needed Kjartan Sveinsson so freakin' bad. He's the only person who can return their classic and melancholy sound.
Amen. No more Syd Barretts.
but now a drummer is heavily missed...
I've been listening to music since the 60s and there has never been a band like Sigur Ros. Their music is sublime. Their live shows are sensational. They are totally unique. One of the highlights of my life was introducing them to my girlfriend, who now is as obsessed by them as me. Utterly superb band
My son died 3 months ago. This song/album reflects my inner despair and heartache.
😔❤
Lord have mercy that is aweful
godspeed
As a father, even the thought of this brings me to tears. I'm so sorry.
Did he got the shots?
I've always loved how their music can evoke such deep feelings and storytelling without even knowing what the lyrics are...it takes my soul to internal places that are both nostalgic and melancholy yet peaceful and hopeful. Looking forward to seeing them for the 10th time this August...but this time with my 9 yr old daughter. An extra special milestone.
so true, me and my wife and two daughters (15 and 11) are going to see them this very Saturday @ Amsterdam! I am so thrilled! :)
@@mathieukoren7608 Have a great time this Saturday!! Let me know how it was!
@@mathieukoren7608 How was the concert??
@@MehmetM it was awesome. Very orchestral off course, a beautiful atmosphere and the new songs are so very very strong!
I remember them fondly, 2008, Hurricane Festival. Insane music, a storm was raging to the right of the stage, the sky was purple and lightning was twitching out of dark clouds. We were lucky and stood in the sun. With goose bumps. The good old days.
What a wonderful description! 😊💖
That reminds me of a Pantera show I went to.
Reminds me of a Dirty Three set at MMF 2004.....insane storm. Beautiful memories.
I’m so lucky and happy to have been to the live performance of this beautiful masterpiece ❤
Me too, it was so amazing!!!❤
I cannot express in words the feeling I have for Sigur Ros. It is very deep and beautiful!
Jonsi has the voice of angels!
This is a very powerful video. It captures the feelings of my personal life at the moment, but also the state of the world. I'm failing to find adjectives to describe the feeling this video evokes.
It's somewhat a feeling of coming doom but mixed with so much else. At least that's what I feel
Impending doom, but leaving behind memories. It's melancholy to view, but the music gives a hidden "something" like, though we did this to ourselves, there were those who tried to stop it. Though we are gone and forgotten, the planet will live on. Well, that's what I got out of it anyway.
I’d say… expansive. Or soul-soothing.
Funny, I was just listening to Kveikur while driving last night and wondered if we'd ever hear anything from Sigur Ros as a full band again. I would say this song is more in line with Valtari (my favorite Sigur Ros album) but everything they've done is so vastly unique. I can't wait to hear more! :)
Shutting my eyes in a low lit room laying down listening to the quiet rain, all my stress is gone for a moment. This song makes me tear up, I'm so lucky to hear this beautiful music.
まさに魂が持っていかれた感じ。言葉にならない。凄すぎる・・・・。そして美しい。
The soundtrack of the apocalypse.
Después de F♯ A♯ ∞. Por supuesto
This is the most phenomenal song anyone has ever put out, i can't even find words to the sadness and comfort it brings as someone who for a long time has been hurt by the destruction humans are causing to this planet. After 2 months of regularly listening to this piece i still cry nearly every time.
Just what I need in this scary and changing world. Sincere, pure and hopeful music for the soul, from another world. Thanks again Sigur Rós for being there.
Beautiful as ever. I've been a fan since 1999 and am continuously in awe of this band and the hauntingly gorgeous music they make.
A master piece , just close eyes , breathe, and relax . Thanks for the song .
Sigur Ros is my favorite band! They make me flying in a lots of emotions . love it!
This song means so much to me
Meravigliosa la musica e meravigliose le immagini....
Sono in connessione con il Divino... Soffia in loro lo spirito.. É una meraviglia da ascoltare in silenzio e lasciarsi trasportare. Grazie infinite
I'm the happiest person cuz I'm gonna see Sigur Ros this summer
Been following Sigur Ros since 2006. Saw them live for the first time more than 10 years ago, and still to this day have not experienced a better live performance. Simply captivating!
that is such a reflection movie.. for sure.. what are we going to end up like in this world full of hate and dark perspectives.. sigur rós music I see as the flame of hope, it sadden us for a while and then rises again with hope and joy of better future. always with tears in our eyes, they get us.
Valtari vibes ❤ I love it already and can’t wait for the new album! Always in my heart, TAKK! @sigurros
my kind of Sigur Rós. what I call in Spanish (my mother language): a kick straight into the heart.
@@italorossid hahahha amazing
I remember the summer day, when i was 12, now 26, when discover a Takk copy and play it. I didn't' understand what i was hearing but first time in mi whole life i felt a sens of calm.
The years came and i always missed the felling that something new from Sigur Ros made me felt... until now
Ten year later i feel the same love for them
Sigur Rós forever. I'm forever thankful for their music to be present in my life, i wouldn't be the same person i am right now if it was not for them. Taƙk❤
This Video ...film and music...is exactly what I feel in this world now❤😢
C'EST VRAI LA TRISTESSE DOMINE LE MONDE QUI POUR MOI EST UN DESASTRE.
Another one that makes me cry… such feels. Looking forward to crying without shame again in person at their show in Berkeley, CA in August 2023. ❤
Wow. Breath: taken. That was the elegy for the earth, for all of us. May it not be a preview of what's to come.
Great song. So happy one of my favorite bands is back after ten years 🎉 !
Simplesmente arrebatador! Muito obrigado!
Jonsi’s vocals are as hauntingly beautiful as ever, this is a very powerful song and video . Heartbreakingly good ❤❤❤❤
Makes me think about the pain and suffering that takes place in this world, yet amidst it all there’s that glimmer of light. Profound.
Absolutely stunning, transcendent music.
It doesn't have to end this way . 'Let your ambition be the achievement on earth of a heavenly civilisation' [Bahai teaching] . Unity in Diversity, Together we are stronger.
Such a powerful video! Sigur Rós music still sounds like a message from another world 💔
For me, this just shows the inevitability of time; we may hopefully turn the world's current situation around in our and nature's favour, but eventually, our golden moment in the starlight will end, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Humanity is finite, and that's what this video speaks to me in a beautiful and accepting way.
I'm laying on my bed with my window open. Its a cosy evening, very warm outside with summer rain, so it smells wonderful outside, listening to the calming noise of raindrops falling on the trees. I slept in to youtube videos and this started automatically to play at some time. I literally thought and dreamed shortly that I died, a warm tickly feeling hit my body and my soul rose up to the stars in the universe... That was my personal magic moment of this year so far :) What a wonderful work of art, haunting, melancholic and beautiful
I was in a moment of deep grief over the recent loss of my mom when I found this. It’s sad but the kind of sad that soothes your soul
Sorry to hear about your loss..Though completely different The Waterboys- The Faery's Last Song based on WH Yeats poem really helps.
Quel voyage ! Sidérant et sublime.
This sound, the loss, the wasted effort.
Two years ago, I had hope on false hope. Strange, beautiful and deeply disturbing, how this describes efforts laid to waste and the melancholy that forever resides
Hopelandic the most beautiful language...takk
It’s been so long but it’s so nice to have another beautiful piece by Sigur Ros 🥹
Your music is something really necessary for us. Takk for returning. ❤️
L'attente était longue mais cela en valait la peine... Ils nous régalent encore et toujours
Another work of extreme beauty from Sigur Ros.
Amazing piece of music! The film just sums up a lot of what's happening in the world. The planet is rebooting.
Heaven is calling it wants it's song back, haunting and beautiful, Jonsi is Angelic is his singing. one of my all time favorite bands... MASTERPIECE
When I read all the comments here…Sigur made something with our minds…we heal, we cry…feel ourselves for a long time again…If I ever meet Jonsi…I will thank him gratefully for all these emotions he brought us…
So moving. Beautiful music but devastating imagery. I kept closing my eyes so I could imagine lush green forests, ocean and blue sky.
Classic Sigur Rós vibes. Love it. Return to form
Haunting… one of the best music videos ever made.
MVじゃなくてもはやこれは芸術作品。
Thanks a million for another song of sheer beauty. Makes me feel like I am living on a planet surrounded by music coming from another one.
A sad and beautiful masterpiece.
Sigur Ros is back.
This single after years rekindles what made me fall in love with their music and instrumental ambient/post rock music in the first place.
It's like meeting an old friend again, a treasured old friend.
never forget the three shows I went to, all in sydney. the second one they headlined at an outdoor fest in 2012, they played Kveikur, the young crowd was spell-bound.
Thanks to all who helped create this music. Takk
Such striking yet simple imagery...incredible
It's overwhelmingly good to have one of my favourite bands back. Today was agood day.
Looping shivers on my skin, crying my eyes out. Wecome back guys, miss ya so much. I love ya endlessly.💚
I couldn't believe my eyes
What a wonderful way to start my day with 👌 your music definitely took me into another level 🙏🏼
Sigur Rós Much Love from SYRIA 🖤🖤🖤
sigur ros rules the world...their pieces of music are alway so intense and beautiful..i look forward to the next album !! 10 years are very long TAKK
An instant classic! WELCOME back boys!
I feel like I should have watched this in a cinema, or at least a dark room with a nice sound system rather than on my phone…
It’s another great piece of art, so good to hear a new track after so long.
Gracias.....😞
Sublime Sigur Ros, l'immensité et l'infini...
Mis padres me dieron la vida, Sigur Rós las ganas de vivirla
This touched my soul in places I didn't even know existed.
Beautiful music! And the video perfectly encapsulates the zeitgeist of how it feels like we're marching towards our doom. Excellent use of the uncanny valley for maximum effect of the message!
Brilliant. Sigur Rós has always composed and produced brilliant music. The kind of music you'd expect to be playing when your soul transcends this physical realm.
I love the idea of the video, and it certainly goes well with the composition. I would have just done it backward: Start with the large group of deceased beings, progress with more spread-out deceased beings, and end with 2 still alive beings running away together to nail down the idea that there will always be hope as long as we have each other.
My favorite band of all time! ♥️ Anyone feel me on this? It’s always sunny in Philadelphia S13: E10.💕
At last, the Requiem for Earth is composed just in time! Humanity fulfilled it's mission, we can chill out and watch our end from the first rows..
the most beautiful №2 music of the album
So good meditate with Sigur Ros 🙏
really looking forward to this album
Amando ... Siete immensi e dico .. immensamente grazie
Let's all rest secure in the knowledge that Sigur Ros is back and they're still awesome. Beautiful things are still happening in our lives.
What a song... Best they have done in years for me. Can't wait until we hear the album if they are this quality. Wow
This is a masterpiece! Sigur Rós never disappoints me. This song reminds me of Valtari times, amazing as always
This is, astonishingly, even beyond and above Valtari's unprecedented sonic poetry. Quite an interesting and brave choice of moving toward these textural pieces.
Here for the video premiere from Michigan, USA. Song is amazing!
La mejor banda del
Mundo ...saludos desde Venezuela
The power of this music, in addition to the images of the sand, the sensation of heat, the raw bodies/corpses in increasing number.. all of this.. it made my body react beyond my control, I literally shiver all the way through the piece.
Wow, wow! Tears roll down my cheeks again... so beautiful ❤️🙏
The title translates to "blood rock", so the video makes some sense! The last few minutes are very intense.
Blóðberg = Thyme or Timian (herb)
Google Translate does come up with Blood Rock. Thyme does have blöð (not blóð) in it, but I have no Icelandic verbal skills so I can't say one way or t'other.
However, I'd say the video gives off Mars-like feelings, which quite literally is the blood rock of our solar system.
For the moment, I'll go with Blood Rock until I can find some other good reason to accept Thyme or an herb.
I'm getting ready to be swept away in emotions.
"Blóðberg" debuted at #6 on the New Alternative 40 Chart this week
Gorgeous song. Haunting video. I wasn't ready to be heartbroken, both ways.
🥺💔
Majesty and affliction roaming aimlessly, hand in hand...
