Hello Allison! Welcome back! 🥰 It would be very interesting to see the entire collection of instruments. And also get recommendations for trombonists on mastering the trumpet, please! 🙏
I love the Shires horn. I'm planning on pick up one probably in Feb or March of next year but I'm debating on whether or not to just get a Q series instead of a custom. I'm just a weekend warrior, I play in a few paid orchestras and do some solo work with them and some other local groups but it really is just for fun so I'm having a hard time justifying the extra cost of the custom.
Hi there! So the Q series is, from what I've heard, very good and quite a good deal for the price. Plus, they're compatible with custom parts I believe! As long as you test your horn thoroughly before purchase, I say go for it!
@@AllisonMartin definitely, I think I'm sold on Shires, but the Edwards look tempting as well. This will probably be the last horn I buy, so I'm thinking why not treat myself to the top tier models. Loved the video, keep it up!
@@Bearleaux Ohhh nice!! Definitely test out both if you can--I found that on the Edwards my tone was a little thin for my liking, even though it played like a champ. I'm excited for you!!
I'm in a similar situation and bought a Q this year. I love it. I played on an 88H and a King 4B for decades. The Shires plays a lot like the 88H, especially below the staff. Love it!
@@bonemackive been on a Bach 42bo for ever. I stopped playing for 20 years butt started back up this year and always wanted a shires with an axial flow valve, probably the way I'll go.
I sold my Shires in favor of a XO brass 1236RL-O. However I do still have a Shires 2RVE bell (and may have a straight through gooseneck too). The bell is in 9+ shape. Did you ever want to buy one at half price?
I didn't show my cases this time around--would you be interested in seeing them? Let me know!
YES!!! I love a good case!
yeah i would love to see them
Every equipment video is a blessing to the trombone community
I love shires trombones. It's so nice how the pieces are interchangable and the horns themselves are super high quality.

Those are both great suggestions and I just might do both!

always great to hear from allison!
I believe the John Marcellus mouthpiece came with the Benge ,it was basically his redesign of the Bach 5G ?
OOOOH that is likely right on the money!! I did indeed have a lovely Benge for a while, the one with the rose brass! Nice call!
Finally someone who understands "cheating mouthpieces." If one size fit all for all jobs, there wouldn't be a kaboodle of mouthpiece makers!
For sure! It all depends on what the job is!
cup mute is the real practise mute to me
love your content
hey thanks!

If I ever have the spare money, I really would actually!
@@AllisonMartin Spare money! WTF is that? LOL!
