  • Following a lads and dads camp this year, we battled with some smaller tents and some bigger tents with poles. The weather wasn't great and by the end of the weekend, I'd learned that if I was going to buy the optimal tent for camping with my kids, I needed three things. Inflatable frame/poles, black out sleeping compartments and room to stand inside and a place to hang out in bad weather. I bought the Quechua Airseconds 4.2 Fresh and Black Inflatable 4 Person Tent from Decathlon. This video is a first impressions review.

    In theory, if the person sleeping further from the doors needs to get out during the night, and since the room length is 260cm, can that person leave without going over the person sleeping next to the doors?

      Thinking of getting this, are you able to get 5 cmaping chairs in the middle? for them rainy festivals! Also can you fit a double airbed in the bedroom compartments?

      @@brandonellis7696 the measurements are 5mins in on the video if you pause it. There’s room to spare with a standard decathlon double flock bed in each side.

    Iv just brought this tent and mine don’t have a zip for the bottom of the door! Seems like any small animal can just get in. Does yours have a zipper? Many thanks in advance.

    How well does the inflatable frame resist over time? I'm concerned it might get pierced of lose airtightness overtime.

    • @DadDoesOutdoors
      @DadDoesOutdoors  2 года назад +2

      Haven’t had it long enough to say. It seems quite durable though and nothing inflatable touches the ground during use.

    My questions are. How hot is it not the black out area? I live in Sydney, and think it might get quite warm on a a 29 degree night.
    And is the rain fly incorporated I’m in the tent as a whole?
    And finally, how easy is it to fold up back into the bag? A demo on that would be useful.
    Thanks

      @DadDoesOutdoors  2 года назад +3

      Hey, didn’t realise you had Decathlon over there. 1. It’s always hot in tents when the sun is out. But there’s the big mesh panel both sides of the living area. Lighter colour also helps. 2. No rain fly, just main tent with inner sleeping compartments. 3. East to fold back up if you do it in the same way you take it out of the bag when new - even without separating the ground sheet and sleeping compartments. As with all tents, the trick is making sure it’s completely dry for storage. In the UK it normally means taking it back out when you return home to dry and repack. So you become a bit of an expert.

      @@DadDoesOutdoors Thanks for your response. That helps. Bit nervous about no rain fly and how it would perform in a downpour. Will research accompanying fly’s.

    • @DadDoesOutdoors
      @DadDoesOutdoors  2 года назад

      There’s instructions on the inside. I did it first time on my own. Just make sure that you roll it with the air ports as the last thing to be rolled so all of the air pushes out. If you’re struggling still, don’t put the poles in the middle.
