    BTW, I came across a video where the RFID writes a code back to the RFID tag each time it is used, then expects that code the next time you try and scan in. At least that way, if your tag gets cloned, but you manage to scan in before the clone, it will expect that code the next time a scan is made, which will prevent the cloned card from working. Also when your tag doesn't work, you will know it was cloned and you can take appropriate measures.

    The .bin folder from the ESP-RFID repo: github.com/omersiar/esp-rfid esp-rfid is missing the firmware.bin file.
    In the older release 0.81.1 I found two bin files, forV2Board.bin (498k) and generic.bin (510k).
    Can one of the two bin files used instead of the missing firmware.bin file ?

    3:53 you say you have had problems if the chip is not restarted regularly.
    Well.. that is because it's an Arduino.
    Inside an Arduino there is a counter that counts the "uptime".
    When that counter reach it's limit the counter can't count up anymore and the Arduino stops.
    That happens after 42.5 days on most models (or all, not sure)

    Hey, in the new firmware ver the mqtt works different I found the solution on the HA forums
    Please try:
    create a sensor:
    Copy to clipboard
    - platform: mqtt name: "rfid_reading" state_topic: "rfid/send" value_template: "{{ value_json.username}}" expire_after: 2
    …check if the sensor is showing georges for two seconds, when you´re holding card in front of the reader.When working:
    create automation (card name=georges)
    Copy to clipboard
    - id: 'testfrid1' alias: testrfid trigger: - entity_id: sensor.rfid_reading platform: state to: 'georges' condition: [] action: - entity_id: switch.sonoff service: switch.toggle

      Things has changed in the files that are downloaded.

      In the video, he takes the firmware.bin file and places it in the same folder as the flasher, instead of searching for it.

      www.home-assistant.io/components/alarm_control_panel.mqtt/
      There's an example there too for your config.yaml
      What alarm components do you have that you plan to use? You'll have to do something with automations or node-red to get all the sensors and such to respond the way you want when your alarm is Armed or Disarmed.

    • @DrZzs
      @DrZzs  6 лет назад

      Thanks!
      You mean to setup the door lock? Since ESP-RFID sends an MQTT topic the only setup you need is in the Automations.yaml, just to tell HA what to do when that MQTT message is sent.
      If you need to know how to setup the door lock in HA, it's just an MQTT switch entry. It'll look something like this:
      - platform: mqtt
      name: "Shop Lock"
      command_topic: "cmnd/shoplock/power"
      state_topic: "stat/shoplock/POWER"
      qos: 1
      payload_on: "ON"
      payload_off: "OFF"
      retain: false
      I set up the locks in another video:

    I installed the ESP-RFID, I assigned the badges, I configured the parameters MQTT (the module is well connected on my MQTT broker on home assistant)
    On esp-rfid there are other settings in the Hardware settings menu I do not know what to do.
    (wifi led, door status, open lock pin, ...)
    When I pass the badge on the reader, it is well identified but nothing happens, the switch does not change state
    thank you in advance for your help
    Regards

    What case do use for the sonoff sv, nodemcu, touch buttons? They don't have a good aesthetic appeal just laying around.

    • @DrZzs
      @DrZzs  6 лет назад

      I've 3d printed most of the enclosures myself. I usually search Thingiverse.com and find something that'll work for my purposes.
      Another good option if you don't have access to a printer are the travel soap boxes from Wally-mart or the dollar store. Usually $0.50 or $1 and you have a nice plastic box with a clip lid that'll fit several components. And they have different colors. :)

    Mine firmware is not working properly
    It is not saving any settings and after clicking save and reboot it stays in access point mode with all the settings as factory settings
    Also it is not recognising any RFID cards
    But I can use the setup properly in an Arduino sketch

      I haven't played with this program in a while. I'm not sure what might have changed. Try the ESP-RFID github, they should be able to give some guidance.
      Maybe someone is already working on a solution to that problem:

      I haven’t tried a case on it. That would really be crappy. I’ll have to try it. Maybe there’s a way to adjust it or boost it. I’ll have to look into it.

I bought 10 card rfig and 10 extra keychain rfid chip. for $1. the 10 extra keychain chip I got looks the same as the one it came with but they will not work. I have the same rfid that you have.
    any ideas?

    • @DrZzs
      @DrZzs  6 лет назад

      Hey Bobby!
      I got a set of 3 readers and each had a card and a keychain. I know there are some readers that work with NFC on phones, but this reader doesn't do that. I got these from BangGood, I know they have packs of cards too.
      Maybe the cards can be programmed with a code and yours didn't come with a code already on the chip? I know I've seen videos about cloning cards. Maybe that's the answer. I don't know much more about it than that. Sorry.
      It might be that this reader doesn't provide enough of a magnetic field to induce the card to activate, but that's less likely.

      T1 switches are next. I've done the research, just gotta do the flash and film.
      They are definitely the most complicated flashing process of all the Sonoff devices.
      The Fan02 is still in transit. I haven't seen it yet. That one will take a little longer.

      I actually managed to flash tasmota on a T1-UK double gang and all seems to work, just need to stick it in the wall now!

    • @cconstb21
      @cconstb21 6 лет назад

      Drzz, thanks a lot. I hoping to see a few things, 1 does the 3 gang switch fit horizontally in a normal 3 gang switch box so I can get rid of current 3 switches. And 2 will 3 1 gang T1 fit in a 3 gang vertically... trying to decide the best solution to meet the wife meter and not have blanks.

    • @AshKirby
      @AshKirby 6 лет назад

      The dimensions for the T1-US are here - dl.itead.cc/T1_US/wiring-2.jpg ... but it appears to replace a single US switch, so if you have three independent switches you would have two blanks, however if all three switches are in one "module" then it would replace that - sorry I can't be of more help but our UK ones are completely different (square)

    • @cconstb21
      @cconstb21 6 лет назад

      Ash K thanks a lot, that's kind of the issue, I can only find videos on the UK versions. And if I find a US version it is only one switch which does fit sideways in a US switch box.

  • @AshKirby

    Nice, my only question would be on the shop lock ... doesn't having it activate on "any" rfid input mean that I could just walk up with any random card out my wallet and gain access?

      Mine has started disconnecting and not reconnecting also.

    • @homehome3390

      Same problem - I can flash first time no problem, enter the menu, set the wifi details, then when I reboot it won't connect and the only way I can get access is to flash the blank 4mb file and re-flash the image. Tried it with a nodeMCU and Wemos 1d - both exactly the same so it must be a software issue somewhere. Even tried reconfiguring my wifi network and connecting to a different AP, all to no avail. Shame, I really wanted this to work. Will have to wait for another version and hope it's fixed.

      Ah, good. Make sure your recording equipment is in there also, so the videos can continue.

      Can you look at it through the serial monitor? Use Termite or Putty to connect to it and see what it's doing.

      oh right. Sorry. Forgot this isn't Tasmota.
      I'm not sure why that would happen.
      Maybe post and "Issue" on the github and see if the Devs have some ideas.

      I had the same trouble. After flash the firmware.bin, I found the network and then I applied the changes (My SSID and Pass) but after reboot the module dIdn't work again. After, When i connected the wemos to the computer it started to fail (Mouse, screen). In conclusion: This motherfucker project destroyed my Wemos D1 MINI!!! This is a "GREAT PIECE OF SHIT" in a ".bin" format.
      WARNING: Users with Wemos D1 MINI, DON'T TRY IT OR YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR DEVICE!!!!

      I notice if I use the ver. 1 nodemcu it will work fine and don't destroy it.. however, when I got the 2 ver 3 nodemuc both were destroy..I like the ver3 nodemcu because has a VV pin when powered by 5v or 24v, the VV pin give you that voltage to power your relays vs. the ver 1 nodemcu which only has the 3v output. I have one ver1 that working fine. I will just get another ver1 nodemcu to use on the 2nd rfid I got .

    My parts came. But having all sorts of problems. Mostly my doing. Finally got to the point where everything was entered and it was supposed to restart. Never did. Hate to start over. While I am here.. I have never got 192.168.4.1 to work on any project using W10 Edge and Chrome. I tried it on my iPad and it works. Anybody have any idea why? Again great job

      yea i have been trying this, watched the vid a few times, i have come to the conclusion after reading a few forums that i need to solder the headers on, alot of people have been having issues with breadboards and the rfid reader. so ill have to go buy myself an iron before i can do it

      This is the one I have:
      amzn.to/2u9iFOV
      You'll want some kind of holder though. So maybe one of the kits that has a holder would be better.
      Using really thin solder helps a lot too. This is what I use:
      amzn.to/2MUmxLt
      I think there is some even smaller too.
      Good luck!

      hmmm
      Sorry, I wish I could tell you what the issue is. I believe my NodeMCU is V3. Maybe give me some more specific information about what errors you're getting and I'll see if I can help.
      The ESP-RFID github page may be another good place to ask for help.
