Yes, the one thing that all these GL was missing was the portrayal of hunger for each other. The other gl's there was no craving desire or lust, to be honest, it was just kissing with no passion.

The ACTING, The VISUALS, The scriptwriting. Lol The script/story - this is where I have the most issues. 1. There were some issues with consent in some of the scenes. Wan crossed some boundaries. If Ek had done the same, people would be up in arms. 2. Some of the plot didn't make sense. I get the dad got framed, but he had the opportunity to make sure his family would not lose everything before he killed himself. 3. THE USE OF SUICIDE AS A COPING MECHANISM. Just no. They did it 2 times and made it seem like Wan was going to drown herself. Bad message. 4. OBSESSIVE LOVE. Both Ek AND Wan have issues with this. It is NOT romantic. The jealousy is not cute either. Wan has issues. 5. The unessarily long time jump. 13 years?! Pleng decided she was going to work dead-end jobs and not try to make her life better for 13 years? - Wan couldn't find her in Bangkok for 13 years? - Pleng didn't see the announcement on media about Wans marriage? - Wan married Ek because Pleng told her to and because she wanted her to see the announcement? 6. The villain is always the mom. Or the grandmother. Like yo. How are mothers seriously hurting their daughters and forcing them into society's most strict, double standard, heteronormative, misogynistic rules? SOMEONE give the actress that plays Wan's mom a main role in a series. The lady always plays homophobic, awful mom. She's awesome. Give her better roles!! Also, the actress gives me queer vibes. Is she in real life?

If someone's heart is saying yes but their mind is saying no, their autonomy should still be respected. It doesn't give the other person the right to decide for them. In Gap novel, they started with Mon already coming to her first day of work in Khun Sam's company. but in the series, Mon didn't start going to her first day of work yet until the second part of ep 1. Meanwhile Affair series started with Wan trying to make out with Pleng just like in the novel of the prologue chapter and then showed 13 years ago before the presence. I'm actually looking for a GL series that followed closely (almost 100%) to a novel. It's only the first episode of Affair, so I won't get my hope high (By the way, I love Gap the series so much. It was my first GL series that got me into the GL world)
Most adaptations from book to screen change things. People who understand those two creative arts know that scenes portrayed in words sometimes need to be portrayed differently when adapted visually. Script writers are usually not novelists because they are two different skills. Novel writers aren’t usually film directors because they take different skills, different visions. 400 page books are a lot so it does not mean every single page needs a scene or all the lines from the book should be in the series. Not every scene needs to be reenacted n order to tell a great story on screen. Also it upholds the integrity of the novel when some things are left out or changed. It makes it so that the book won’t lose sales or interest because some people are interested in how the book is different. Anyway, the two aren’t ever the same and when they are exactly same, it’s kind of boring. I just think it’s a shame when I see people that do not understand this complain first without knowing what it takes or even care to consider why maybe the decision was made to change the screen version. Meanwhile there are people in the industry or the hobby of film or writing that understand this well.
im relatively new to GL series (so far i've only watched ayaka is in love with hiroko, the secret of us, and love bully) but holy shit the chemistry between wan and pleng is INSANEEEE i am so excited for the rest of this series !!

Not finally, Gap the Series already followed the whole novel. And added a wedding.
@@jcravenclaw what I meant is that they do not added any scenes like in Gap series. In Gap novel, they started with Mon already coming to her first day of work in Khun Sam's company. but in the series, Mon didn't start going to her first day of work yet until the second part of ep 1. Meanwhile Affair series started with Wan trying to make out with Pleng just like in the novel of the prologue chapter and then showed 13 years ago before the presence. I'm actually looking for a GL series that followed closely (almost 100%) to a novel. It's only the first episode of Affair, so I won't get my hope high
(By the way, I love Gap the series so much. It was my first GL series that got me into the GL world)
Most adaptations from book to screen change things. People who understand those two creative arts know that scenes portrayed in words sometimes need to be portrayed differently when adapted visually. Script writers are usually not novelists because they are two different skills. Novel writers aren’t usually film directors because they take different skills, different visions. 400 page books are a lot so it does not mean every single page needs a scene or all the lines from the book should be in the series. Not every scene needs to be reenacted n order to tell a great story on screen. Also it upholds the integrity of the novel when some things are left out or changed. It makes it so that the book won’t lose sales or interest because some people are interested in how the book is different. Anyway, the two aren’t ever the same and when they are exactly same, it’s kind of boring. I just think it’s a shame when I see people that do not understand this complain first without knowing what it takes or even care to consider why maybe the decision was made to change the screen version. Meanwhile there are people in the industry or the hobby of film or writing that understand this well.
