2 quick advice: 1. Don't enter a password on intial setup. It will skip the "additional Questions" like pet-name or stuff. You can later setup a password without the question within the computer-management - console 2. When the "Hi ... Welcome to Windows" - message appears on first login: Press CTRL + ALT + Delete and select "logoff". You can immediately login again and don't have to see those nice messages on the black background telling you to "setup" stuff for you...
I never understood the whole concept of "Additional Questions" for local accounts. Well, I mean, I get the INTENT of it, but I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY, doubt any user has even used it. If they're installing a local account using an ISO install, I highly doubt they've even had to consider the answers. I just type in junk. Then after the system gets going I join to a domain (work) or during the install I just sign in with my Microsoft account (personal).
@@jasonmicron i'd argue that security questions actually make you less secure, especially for some people who put their entire lives on public. If someone who knows you well wants to access your stuff they easily can.
@@ishid_anfarded_king Very true. That's why password lockers are critical to securing your accounts. There are still financial institutions that use security questions FFS. I use 1Password and it allows you to generate 'junk' answers that you can just plug in for sites that still follow that model.
Thank you John for yet another great vid. Hopefully you will make that video about setting up malware analysis lab safely and tips how to do it properly. Huge huge Thanks in advance. 🎉
While this is a very basic tutorial, I am certain that I would have spent a significant amount of time trying to figure out how to include the TPM and encryption options in the VM settings. Thanks!
Wow, windows is still around! In all seriousness, nice to know how to do this now. I have VMs for 7 and 2k but I guess a lot of software wouldn't run on these anymore. Hopefully QEMU will add TPM emulation eventually.
I misread VMware Workstation as "Malware Workstation". Which becomes more and more fitting as Microsoft updates their OS and it becomes more and more like a malware itself.

Very helpful video about installing Windows 11 in VMware workstation. Is it possible to install VMware workstation Pro on the same PC with VirtualBox 6.1 as long as you do not run both at the same time?
IT reaches "getting files ready for installation (83%)" and then bsods. Every time. How do i fix this? Edit: I tried shutting down the vm and it says something about a defragmented virtual disk

Hi John. I love your content and I'm a regular viewer. Any possibility you would consider defaulting to Hyper-v as your hypervizor? I love open source, including VirtualBox, Xen etc. But when you're on a Windows box, you have Hyper-v for free. Am I missing something. Some kind of value we can squeeze out of VB? Of course being able to run on Windows and Linux is a plus, and we need to remember the tux-bois. But..?
