Hello Y’all! Thanks for stopping by my kitchen! If you follow this recipe, they’ll be the best brown sugar cookies you’ve ever had! 🤗
14 Tbs unsalted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups DARK BROWN sugar
2 cups plus 2 Tbsp of flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Brown 10 Tbsp of butter over medium heat
Remove from stove and add remaining 4 Tbsp of butter..stir til melted and set aside for 15 minutes
Add 1 3/4 cup of DARK BROWN sugar
Add eggs
Add vanilla extract
Add whisked dry ingredients
Roll dough into balls (about 1 1/2 inches diameter)
and coat balls in sugar mixture
Place cookie balls on baking stone or cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
Bake in preheated oven 12-14 minutes at 350…
DO NOT OVERBAKE
Cool on baking sheet about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack and cool to room temperature

Becky, I think you may be worrying too much about talking too much. I love hearing you share your expertise and advice, like about the pans you choose. I have a pizza stone but never thought of baking cookies or biscuits on it! Now I have something to try that may improve my cookies (which are fine but if they could be even better…).
Here’s a thought to compromise between viewers who want to skip through quickly and those who want more info. Maybe you could make it work with timestamps in the description. It would be more work for you and maybe that’s not good either.
I just wanted to say I appreciate the extra information you share, the tips and tricks of an experienced cook, fudge maker, and baker.

OMG! I purchased this exact book because it turned up when I was searching for a different baking title ($2 for a Cook’s Illustrated book was hard to pass up). I didn’t even notice it was the same book from this video until I was flipping through and found this exact recipe. What a coincidence! I like Cook’s Illustrated because of the science and I’m an engineer after all. I agree the tips on getting the texture you want are awesome! I want to try the eggnog cookies earlier in the book. Hi becky i made these cookies today and was just wondering how much flour are you meant to use and what flour i used 400g plain flour (roughly 3 and 1/3 cups all purpose flour) you forgot to putting it in the description box and you didn't mention in the video how much flour you used love from the UK ❣️🇬🇧❣️🇬🇧❣️🇬🇧

@@BeckyIntheKitchen thanks for replying so i was well of on the flour my daughter absolutely loves them and if i had cut them in half i would of actually got 32 biscuits but my becs wanted them to stay big they took 18-20 mins to cook the batch on the top shelf of the oven got the split/crack you were talking about on top but the batch on the middle shelf didn't but a delicious biscuit all the same so thank you they are also moister than the condensed milk cookies/biscuits i make which was really good love from the UK ❣️🇬🇧❣️🇬🇧❣️🇬🇧
