Yum! I decided to put my beds to rest and start again next year. It’s been a long year and I’m tired. Broccolini is actually a hybrid of Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan) and regular broccoli - developed by Sakata Seed Company. I would say what you’re showing is just “baby broccoli”.

Thank you for the video. I am growing broccoli for the first time this year and it has done well. I let some go to seed with the intent of using the seeds to sprout and eat the sprouts on sandwiches and such. Could you comment on the best way to harvest and save broccoli seeds. Thank you.

Good to know. You can let the broccoli go to flower and then it will produce seed pods. Remove the pods when they are dry and save the seeds. I'll try to see if I can do a video on this!

@@CaliforniaGardening Thank You! Watched the video you linked and that was helpful. My main question has to do with letting the pods dry on the plant. Here in Oregon, fall and winter stay pretty wet. I want to leave them on long enough to mature, but not get moldy of funky.

On tablet can't comment under correct short Vedio. I grew the black cobra pepper. Yes,they are hot but you did not mention that these pepper are like szechuan peppercorn. They make your mouth and throat numb. I think that is where they get the name. I pulled the prolific (best producer in the garden) plant out and threw it away. Numb mouth and throat! You must be kidding.
