- The Leader 721 for some mystical reason captured the hearts of newer fixed gear riders in the early 2010's. While Leader has fallen from their former glory, the 2014 721 is still a completely capable aluminum bike that can be built as a solid and reliable fixed gear. Let's take a closer look at Jonathan Vu's 721 in this fixed gear bike check.

How to have your bike featured:
1. Email me your extensive parts list: iam(at)zachgallardo.com with BIKE CHECK in subject line.
2. Tell me anything you want about your bike. History, how you ride it, what you like/don't like about it, etc. Include your Instagram handle if you want to be tagged.
3. Send me your 1080p or 4k video files via Google Drive or Dropbox. Video files must be 1) 10-15 seconds long each 2) have as little camera movement as possible. 3) 20-25 different shots with 3 shots of your complete bike is a good amount.
4. Keep in mind I'll run ads on the video to help cover the cost of producing the bike checks. Gotta stay fed.
Have fun shooting!

You beater bike is nicer than my main bike.
Omg so nostalgic! I can’t believe this brings me back, I feel old!
2020 pts for nostalgia! And bonus for mad skills.
I'm so ancient I had to look up what a 'beater' was. I've always just called 'em my shopping bikes. Still, mustn't blub.
Wait... where are the mad skills?
"80 mm Thomson stem"
>>Stem says 70mm
"Random set of 144 bcd cranks"
>>Chainring says 130mm
Loving the bike checks. Largely varying and well presented!
I was just watching one of your old videos. Keep it up Zach 💪🏽
I always wanted the 735 for the frame style, but I wasn't into fixed gear and needed gears and went with the LD515.
I would rock it, probably better than the bike I’m riding now!
Love this guy 🤟🏻
Love that Nitto bar!
Still my dream bike
Ah, I wouldn't necessarily call it a beater.
It doesn't look like total trash.
And tbh the paintjob on my Bianchi looks worse. 🤷♂️😅😂
My builds almost done cant wait to submit
The segue game was on point, well done.
Would love to see the State Bicycle Undefeated 2
good job mate
Thanks for the bike check Zach! I got new tires and Omniums...maybe next time 😂
I just got my first fixie. A 2014 Cinelli Bootleg Mystic Rats after your review of builds and parts. Hope to have you review my bike.
That’s my first bike! Got a used frame with carbon fork and mavic SL wheels for 275 £
How much are you selling the carbon fork for?
Solid bike check zach
That fixie boi can spin
Thanks man!
Dig it!!
I bought a retrospec Harper in white and black. What upgrades should I do? Help me out plz
He has plenty of videos about this question, one for almost every part, do some research yourself
Stickers make the ride faster
Haha forsure🤣
Thoughts on the newer Angelino TGP steel frame they were taking preorders on? Havent seen one delivered or reviewed yet.
Got my bike stolen so this just makes me depressed
Yet I still watched the whole vid (facepalms)
Fuck! I'm sorry dude. I know the feeling.
Hope you get back on a bike soon.
Sending some love your way❤️❤️❤️
hope u find it
@BeboSaab Awesome!
Do a review on Throne trklrd
What are the size’s For the seat post and forks on a leader 725 (2014)
How can we order reasonably dangerous decals if they’re not avail on your merch store 🤔
What's your bike weigh the Brooks and drops ? Are you using wabis sub 15 wheels ?
I have heard Leader renewed their models, is it worth buying 721 2019 model?
Zach what do you think of the evo 17 teeth I have a 2018 blue evo 17 teeth
Quick question, i recently bought a State Bicycle Undefeated ii frame. Now i truelly love this frame but i have stumbled across a problem. My back wheel hub fits the backfork (dont know how to call this in english) but the fron wheel hub axis does not fit the frontfork. It seems that the opening in the back is 10mm and the one in front is 9mm. now my fron tires hub axis is 9,5mm wide. how do i fix this? Can i switch the axis? Can anyone help me with this question, preferably someone with experience but everything will help!
Ok, you mean diameter of the axis, not the width. I'm not entirely sure, but should be possible. Of course you'll have to swap the axis along with all the nuts and bolts.
Maybe @Bebosaab can give better advice.
But beware, he's a grumpy old man🤣🤣🤣
@@psychoaiko666 Ah thx, how can i connect him?
@BeboSaab Yeah no the axis has to be 0,5 mm smaller in diameter. and the fork is made out of carbon so i cant change it and am to afraid to do i i could. Im going to a store specialised in these kind of bikes, thx for ur tim tho! much aprecheated!!!!!
Probably have a BMX axle if the diameter is more than 9mm. Get a wheel with 9mm axle or change the axle, cones, locknuts, and track nuts to that size. I agree, don't try to modify that fork.
I nice bike is a nice bike no matter how old it is.
Leader is out of business isnt it? I have a leader road frame that is very smooth for aluminum.
Hows life back in America Zach?
If this is a beater,my fixed gear is a Lemon.😅
I own a leader 727 TR. Does anyone know how much its worth
Whats frame size? 52cm?
if a “beater bike” doesnt have many scratch/dents/blemishes/“beats”, is it really a beater bike or just a bike with lower end components? that or it is the worse/cheaper bike in a stable of better/more expensive bikes. or maybe he calls it a “beater” to save face for a bike he believes others will look down on?
Haha that's fair I mean I am a broke college student...don't worry though it has plenty of "beats." I call it a beater though because I lock it up many times a day in downtown Denver, ride it rain or shine, and don't give a sh!t about crashing it/wearing through whatever cheap tires I can get my hands on, etc. I consider that more functional and fun than building a bike so nice you're afraid to lock it up or ride it in less than perfect weather.
Please stop showing these wabis. They're hideous
Wabi
Hiii
The wabi shit is too much now. Takes up so much of each video.
Do you know any good Chinese carbon frame manufacturer?
Recently bought a Carbonda 696 bike and their support and communication was FANTASTIC. Really deluxe all-questions-answered service. 5/7 would recommend. (They don't have fixed gear bikes afaik, though).
Anyone ride this bike? Looks, and sounds, alot like the Aventon Cordoba. Which was one of the worst bikes I've owned
Can we get some diversity in bikes on this channel? It's starting to look like white amerikkka in here.
I hear Roman descendants build some nice things out yonder.
Still my dream bike
