Rob, you make a good point about the value of sharing and community in art. I do understand those who choose to keep to themselves, perhaps afraid that others may copy their ideas, or simply because they are more comfortable in their personal creative space. Be that as it may, I agree with you that we all become better at our craft by sharing and learning from each other. BTW, regarding the possibility of others copying anybody's work, I believe that creative talent cannot be copied, just imitated, and imitation, as is often said, is a form of flattery. Thanks for your thoughts, cheporquenotecallas! I think at some point there has to be some sort of creative outlet, and that may involve letting go of the fear of plagiarism in one form or another. When it all comes down to it, there are very few truly unique ideas out there, The good news is that, even if an idea has been done before, we can insert our own creativity to make the project unique to ourselves. If you know of someone holding back from sharing for fear of rejection, tell them to step out of their comfort zone and be a part of the community! :)
