What I like about watching you, you keep it real. Day 2. Literally nothing but 1 decent bass, and you let that be shown raw for what it is. Which is very much a part of bass fishing. You're a pro, no doubt ✌️

Grew up fishing Kerr/Buggs back in it's prime of the late 90's. Water used to get way up in the bushes and stay there all spring making it so fun to fish. 3 and 4 pound fish were the norm. Then the bass virus hit and the lake doesn't get high like that anymore so it's just not the same. I still enjoy watching you guys fish it though. Brings back memories!!

Buggs is my home lake so I know how much of a struggle it can be. That's just how it is because the water level changes so much with the hydro dam. There's never a pattern that's lasts for more than 3 days. I truly believe if you can consistently catch nice fish on buggs for a year you can catch them in any lake in the country. I'm not there yet myself but I'm learning every trip.

I'm about 6 hours north west of Kerr in wv, i fish md, WV, VA, and PA, and man the wind has been nonstop since last October. I'm on a kayak, so most days all I can do is find a protected pocket or cove, or creek arm if I'm lucky and hide out and fish that. Main lake the wind just takes you. Theyll call for 5 to 10, and it'll end up 20 to 40 with 50 mph gusts. You're doing great man, it's been colder this year for this season, so the fish have been funny. Youre doing fine man, keep your head up, you got this shit

I do think it makes you a better fisherman because you soon learn how to catch those 3-4 lb spots consistently. Which can win you tournaments. Man I was hoping ol' buggs was going to show out for you. Kerr is high pressured. Not just bass fishing tournament but you also got some big catfish tournaments too. Some big blue catfish there that's for sure. Big gizzard shad too. I have picture somewhere of my grandpa. Holding a stringer of bass at the end of a two day tournament. Back when they kept the fish they caught or gave them away before live wells! The smallest bass was five pounds out of ten fish, big bag. In the ninety's had a bad fish kill on the lake then again in early 2000's. Making it a though on catching bigger bags. Ben you're still my hero brother, you'll get next time. Virginia this year been fucked up weather this spring. Just crazy weather! Wishing you the best dude!

And this year has been noticeably worse than last year so far.

I'm here in the Upper Chesapeake Bay and spend my Late Winter/Spring/Summer/Early Fall fishing for largies, but as soon as September/October hits I don't even think about largemouth anymore. Strictly striper fishing off points, rock piles, etc. They are a ton of fun that time of year and they get huge. They fight hard, way harder than any largemouth I've ever caught.
