  • In our new interview with Raqib Shaw, filmed at his garden and studio in South London, the artist discusses cultivating Bonsais, suffering for beauty, and making the fantastical paintings in his exhibition "Space Between Dreams," on view at our 540 West 25th Street flagship in New York through December 22.
"Each and every one of the paintings is a sonnet," Shaw says of his latest works, in which vibrant and splendorous scenes are punctuated by enactments of violence and destruction. "It's the role of the artist to show a mirror of society ... but [these paintings] aren't all doom and gloom. There's always hope in them," he says.
