I decided to turn to RUclips for help and found you. Not only did you show how to switch it... you saved me a few dollars! I was able to order the Dorman part for $3.25 with free shipping. Cheers.
First thanks for the video. You spend most of the video going over removal and dis-assembly of the old parts, which I found to be a snap. Driving those little pins into the new hinge was the major PITA. I broke all four and eventually spread the anchors with some small screws I was lucky enough to have laying around.
Good tip. And if the doorlockmechanism of the fueldoor is not working, remove the sidepanel in the trunk. Unscrew the both torx in the fuel door. Probably one of the legs of the connector of the little motor is broken. Take a soldering iron and fix it yourself. Cheaper than a new one. The motor works on a switch, outside of the motor. So no worries.
@MEGACONNECTED you should be able to just snap it onto the rail of the old door, and then line it up with the holes in the car body and punch the pins down.
Simplest means of detaching old hinge from door pin is to cut through the back with the smallest diam dremmel blade (took 2 sec each side). This will leave only c 10%, which can be snapped off with a flat-head screwdriver. Those forced to contend with a snapped off expansion pin, so long as you still have the pin, the situation can be saved. I (patiently) filed down the end of the pin just enough to give it a taper in order to stay in its hole on its own, preparatory to a gentle whack.
I looked at the comments and pictures then the prices thought for a monent and simpley replaced the broken plastic pieces with two cup head self tappers cost nothing works as new.

more likely to need the worm-drive cleaning and re-lubing with suitable lube like vaseline.

while this is a simple and cheap fix , the problem occur too often ... I just did this for the third time since i own my car (08 s80)
You do NOT need to dril!
