I can see those electrically controlled vents being a common problem (fancy usually means expensive when they go wrong) I would have kept it simple and reliable, manual. Well done diagnosing.
It's just Jaguars for you. I owned a 2010 XF 3.0d FSH with 39k on the clock when I bought it and 69k when I got shot of the bloody thing. In the space of 2 years it broke down 3 times requiring the RAC to recover the pile of crap each time. The first breakdown was the alternator shit itself at 45k, then the crank position sensor went at 58k, then the fuel pump died in lane 3 of the M1 at 69k.Thats not including the MAP sensor throwing a fit, the rear fog lamps turning into disco lights when I switched them on, the O/S tail lamp LEDs burning out, a fuel rail pressure sensor going pop, the reversing camera cable disintigrating, a vent gear cracking, both rear wheel bearings collapsing, a weird fault with the gearbox that caused it to randomly shift gear for no reason, as in 3rd down to first and then back up to 6th in the space of 100 yards. Then there were all of the odd little messages that popped up, such as parking sensor fault, reversing camera fault, door open when it was closed, and satnav not available, that used to come and go on a regular basis. I wouldn't have minded if it was an old wreck but it was a low mileage fully maintained very expensive car when it was new, and I was only the second owner.

Helpful video to be fair, at £600 for the heating element I think I'd live without it
that post lift looks a real head banger
It is I've now learnt to duck 😂😂😂
Grand video. Pretty sure it’s an XF though ;)
Good video that baz looks very complicated 😬
Spot on 🤙🤙
Well diagnosed 👍
👍
My XF Has the electric heater element warm air out of the vents in seconds even on the coldest mornings 👍could I live without it yea I suppose so
It's over a £600 live without it for the sake of a few mins warmup
I’ve got a similar problem on a 2010 range Rover 4.4 diesel V8 but no fault codes in it with this car have the same system
Does it slot in from the side like a slice of bread in a toaster or half the dash out to replace??
It slides in I think
Looked like u had backed it into the wall lol
It's an optical illusion....
