I'm in the United States and had a horse trailer shipped over from Germany. The hitch weight with two horses is 200 pounds. You can't find a horse trailer in the US with a hitch weight below 500 pounds, and most are higher. So, it's possible they design their fifth wheel with a low pin weight as well. I can pull my trailer with a vehicle with a 5,000 lb weight capacity easily. My trailer is 3 to 4 thousand pounds when loaded. I'm loving these RV's.
I love Matt and Andrea's European vacation! Always exciting to see the different models and I think the little scooter to zoom around Rome is amazing. I would definitely want to sight see that way.
Winghamn who lol the crowd funded vapor van lol. But seriously it’s difficult to compare prices. The vans are less expensive yes. But most Americans aren’t gonna drive a manual transmission. And no generator or lithium or ac. That’s the price savings. Additionally the climate in Europe is not as harsh
The 5th Wheelers in Europe are a lot smaller because the roads are so much smaller and a lot of the RV parks aren't equipped for bigger RV's. You'll also probably notice that 95% of the RV's are all cassette toilets, again because the RV parks are not set up for black tanks. Also you'll see little to no slide outs. The Colosseum looked amazing, at nearly 2k years old and still standing. The whole place steeped in history. Great hack with the hire of the two seater scooter/golf cart thingy.
I liked the format of this video, giving the highlights of each RV. The comment about the use of colors other than browns for interiors is spot on, and it was great seeing different floorplans. Keep enjoying these cities at your own pace and in your own style!
So cool seeing you guys in Germany! I lived there a couple years from 1972-74. I've always been so impressed with German engineering. That last one was a BEAST!
DUDE the Pantheon 🏛️ is one of the most amazing buildings in the World started in 27 BC & finished years later BC & redone in 118 AD or so! It defies ALL construction builds & has held up thousands of years! They still don’t know how the Pantheon was constructed to be so fortified❤
It had the biggest unsupported dome for I think more then 1300 years! And even to this day it's still the biggest unsupported concrete dome.... It was build 2000 years ago!!!! Truly an engineering wonder....
Matt, I think it's always worth the money to take a tour with someone who really knows their way around a place. There are a lot of tours and cab drivers who will be glad to show you around. Usually a tour will arrange tours so you don't have to stand in line to get into the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's, Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill, etc. I hope you learned the Colosseum was originally covered with white marble; that was stripped and used to build St. Peter's. Also, the "paintings" in St. Peter's aren't paintings - they are mosaics.
That Heimer was pretty nice. What a treat to live vicariously through you both especially in Dusseldorf since I'm German. Rome was incredible - Thank you! ❤
So very happy for you and your travels and sharing Europe Motorhomes and RV's. PS way later..what a fast tour..wow...you knocked that out of park for the video as well..amazing fast tour in the crowds and all...
The Phoenix Alkoven 8900 is beautiful! I am planning to move to Europe next year. Would love to have this motorhome to travel around and explore. The only thing it is missing is the washer/dryer combo unit. Do you have any contact information?
The first one is beautiful and I wish they would offer them in the US. I love the steps to the bed instead of a ladder. The moped one is super cool......I think you should get the moped Matt.
My hubby has 1996 Ranger Sportside, which he said is supposed to be able to tow at least 7,500 lbs. He has had it since 1998, and we love it. Believe it or not, it still works great. The only reason for us to get a new truck would be to get something that has a higher tow rating.
So begins your summer vacation in Europe The one rig that I like is the one that has a garage in back for a Smart car I’m looking for a toy hauler here in the States that can carry a Smart car or similar, but I think that most toy haulers aren’t sturdy enough to carry much…. It’s good that you’re taking us along with you as you tour the city and see the sights. I’m looking forward to seeing more content.
Gday and thank you for your hugely entertaining reviews. Peugeot is said like purjo the t is silent and I think they also manufacture the dodge ram product.
Wow, to b in Rome.... WOW! Very cool campers too. I would love to b anyone of ur daughters right now. To b young and beautiful in Rome during summer. I ask you, what could possibly b any better? You are the best parents ever! ✌️😁. Thanks again.
Love the interior designs over there in Europe and about the 5th wheels being towed by a Ford Ranger is fine as long as it’s diesel power and the trailer is light weight.
Matt you have to be checking some of the Volkner Mobil units, including that one with the mid-ship garage for your mini-cooper or 911 car... one big difference we noticed on our rental car drive from Spain to Italy in May was that when towing something the speed limit was 90kph, so, yes the laws are very different/ as are many other things. So, while I am not an engineer or any such thing perhaps they have done their math.
Matt, I think that if the seller of those trucks doesn't recommend a tow package to the 5th wheel buyer that they should be flogged. I bought a 1990 F150 in late 1990. It didn't have a tow package. We bought it small Shadow Cruiser Fifth Wheel., 27' and all fiberglass. We burned up the transmission in under 18 months because of no tow package, and it was a manual transmission to boot. So, I agree with you; they need bigger tow vehicles for those rigs.
Oh and although I’m an oz living in London it would be great if you could make it to Australia at some stage and review it vans but in particular a company building Merc unimog rvs. They are amazing with one being able to switch from left to right hand drive at the switch of a button.
In 25-30 years you can. Prior to that, the truck chassis must be certified for on road use in America (safety and emissions). From the business side, this is very expensive. Regulations in the US are different from the EU regulations. There's an argument to be made that a single set of regulations for safety and emissions makes sense, but that's a different discussion. If this chassis and powertrain was certified, it gets cheaper for the business. However, importing vehicles is expensive. If there isn't a business case for a significant amount of sales to offset import cost and business expenses in the USA (distribution is also expensive).😂
The engines are typically smaller. And diesel… not certified for US. Many are manual only - most Americans can’t drive that. They also aren’t designed for our climate and lifestyle. Most would probably say wow this is too small.
Peugeot (French, pronounced like “poo-jh-oh”) looks like the Ram because it IS the Ram. All owned by the same parent company, Stellantis. Both vehicles are actually Fiat based, from the Ducato.
Your right other country’s RV’S interior designs are a lot better in colors. Thanks for sharing part of Rome scenery. Cool rental scooter to tour around Roma and getting great parking plus the price for a day. We need these in America.
Absolutely love your vidios of Europe. The ford rangers in Europe are diesel powered with a alot more torque. There's a guy on RUclips selling American 5th wheels in the UK "ccrv uk". I wonder how a american 5th wheel like scamp would do over there??
Been to Rome twice. Crowded and hot but worth it. You need to do research on these sites before you go. You get your tickets online and skip the lines when you go in.
This is what I was waiting for. Recently Germany changed the law about the maximum weight of a vehicle you can drive with a B category licence and of course, other EU countries will make the same adjustments. It didn't take long, we finally have a 5th wheels in Europe. You have to understand the weight limit is around 4.5t, can't remember exactly, so some sacrifices have to be made. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to buy a pick-up and most pick-ups are small.
Hello Matt and Andrea, great vlog! Just to what I said last year - was that the European RV Mfg's have way better fit and finish and better grade/quality for the fitments/furnishings in there RV's. Just take a look at where the Fiat or VW cutaways meets the box, its trimmed out like a "factory production" vehicle/RV and not a "Kit type" vehicle/RV like in America. That vehicle in the back of the PHOENIX - MAN RV was a Smart EQ fortwo "all electric" and not a Mini Cooper...
Also, I agree with everyone else here - the Creativity of European RVs are 50 years ahead of their time. That's what's holding me up from buying an RV - everything in US feels like the Car Industry in Cuba - you hop on a time machine and see cars from 30-50 years back. US Manufacturers, please innovate.
It's a combination of two things: 1: The U.S. market is heavily influenced by auto dealership franchises and their model. That means insane "MSRP", having to haggle, sales, and so on, plus built to cheap standards as there is lots of places to hide the actual cost without trying hard. In Europe, RVs are sold like televisions. Here is your price. This means that it is as competitive as TVs or Refrigerators in that they are side by side and there's no haggling or padding. So the one with the better features gets sold. It's a very tight and competitive market. (except the very top end, of course) 2: The U.S. has a bit of a captive audience. Lots of retired people who buy these as weekend tools. In Europe, these are used as normal vehicles for trips by families instead of flying. You simply drive to Austria and save on the flight and hotels. As such, it's, again, a tight and competitive market aimed at tourists compared to the U.S. Especially in the class B segment, where these cost only 20-30% more than a typical car, allowing you to do double-duty. Win-Win.
Europe spec Ford Rangers have turbo diesel motors without the strict emissions. So I'm guessing their tow ratings are much higher than the US Ranger. Also seems like everything is much better quality than anything made in US.
Thanks for a fantastic video Matt! I hope you are doing well. You guys seemed a bit jetlagged throughout the RV tours. Next time load up on some espressos! lol
Seeing these European RV's just makes me think the US market is insanely out of touch with style and finishes and prices. These RV's that you are showing us are making the US ones look like really doggy and cheaply made. Wish some of these could be on the US market.
Peugeot... pu-jo I really wish you looked up information about the sites you went to before you went. They aren't just "old buildings". There is so much history in Rome, it's a shame you rushed through seeing them like Clark Griswold.

Did u say u wanna buy moped🛵? Then I highly recommend u Honda Beat. Its just 110 cc so its very economic in fuel consumption. Its japanese🇯🇵 so u'll have peace✌☮of mind🧠💙 about its longevity and overall built quality unlike chinese🇨🇳 made, actually korean🇰🇷 and taiwanese aren't bad at all. Super cheap price, spare parts and maintenance, insurance (I don't think it needs one). Its not electric⚡so u don't need to worry about max🔋distance, finding chargin🔌ports. Very small and light but tough💪 enough to carry both of u and andrea. Very futuristic modern lookin 😎. Not oldschool classic, out of date lookin👴🏼 at all. More like a small on-land jetski. Has a📱charging port infront, under the right handlebar or the throttle bar. Of course coz its very small, so it has small but quite enough luggage space under the seat. Would be better if u add rear box to get more luggage space. Its much cheaper than vespa, no where near. Very agile and easy peasy to handle. Don't need 🧠 at all, all u have to do is twist the right ➡️ throttle bar and go. Don't need to worry about shiftin gears, clutch and all that bs. Just enjoy the ride man. Almost forgot, and its fast⚡, I bet its comparable to harley or indian when it comes to acceleration from zero, but of course in a straight line harley and indian will soon leave it behind. U can most certainly cut the traffic jam goin through between cars to save hours goin anywhere in a crowded rush hours. U won't get late goin anywhere on it. U can change your waze or google 🗺 to 🛵/🏍 setting temporarily and go thru small alleys to save hours that impossible using cars

Hi Matt and Andrea. I think the Europeans have more unique and efficiently designed RVs. Thanks for bringing this to us!
100%. Why is that? Lack of innovation? Restrictions/Limitations? 🤷🏽♂️
Good thing Jesus is on the way , I'm looking at upgrading the family van for camping.
I love Matt and Andrea's European vacation! Always exciting to see the different models and I think the little scooter to zoom around Rome is amazing. I would definitely want to sight see that way.
That golf cart was spot on. THX Matt. You seem a lot more relaxed and more in tune with Europe this time, you little cultured bunny.
Love your European videos! Thanks for sharing. Love looking at these units.
I love these innovative designs.
Love the Euro reviews!
Love the European RV's..The Winghamn and all..their design concept just hits the mark. Why cant he US learn from them???
Winghamn who lol the crowd funded vapor van lol.
But seriously it’s difficult to compare prices. The vans are less expensive yes. But most Americans aren’t gonna drive a manual transmission. And no generator or lithium or ac. That’s the price savings. Additionally the climate in Europe is not as harsh
NO AC?? I just look at a video with AC..how do you figure?@@JohnSeitz
Very cool.
You guys need to do this every year.
I bet my bottom dollar the quality of these Euro RV’s is light years better than the crap US manufacturers put out.
light years ...
More like a galaxy far, far away hah ha.
I was thinking the same thing. American products suck!

Liked the format you used last year. This year you are rushing through each motor home you show. Hardly anything is being explained….
Served in USAF and was stationed at Ramstein AB from 04-08, sure miss Germany/Europe
Your right other country’s RV’S interior designs are a lot better in colors. Thanks for sharing part of Rome scenery. Cool rental scooter to tour around Roma and getting great parking plus the price for a day. We need these in America.
I loved watching this! Yall showed so much! Beautiful scenery!
Have a look around a company called STX
So fun! Great rvs amazing tour of Rome! Thank you. I’d love to see a video of all four of you on a trip! I’m laughing just thinking about.
Come to Portugal!!!
Matt your international baby you know what I'm saying you and Andrea your international I'm so proud of you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much 😊
I'll tell you what, American manufacturers could take a lesson from these layouts. Much more efficient use of space!!
The Europeans have some really cool looking rvs. Looks like y’all are having the best time and enjoying life to the fullest! ❤️❤️
Absolutely love your vidios of Europe. The ford rangers in Europe are diesel powered with a alot more torque.
There's a guy on RUclips selling American 5th wheels in the UK "ccrv uk".
I wonder how a american 5th wheel like scamp would do over there??
Rome looks so interesting, but so crowded with tourists.
I bought a moped last year, that is one of the criteria for my class B+ or C I am researching to purchase. Thanks for the review.👍
🚐🛵
Been to Rome twice. Crowded and hot but worth it. You need to do research on these sites before you go. You get your tickets online and skip the lines when you go in.
Well we have a 2020 Fleetwood Flair 32 S and our mattress folds ,well my question is do they make a mattress for my RV??
Loved this. I'm super curious about those 5th wheels!
Thx for taking us along on the trip, pretty sure that qualifys as my vacation, sooo.. thx for paying❤😂
Not “Eurostyle cabinetry” in Europe it’s just “cabinetry” 😜
🤔 very interesting

LOL "I'm gonna buy a moped. Just decided I wanted one." Best way to make decisions ever.
so cool. i mean no slides is key and it's done right outside of the US.
Also, I agree with everyone else here - the Creativity of European RVs are 50 years ahead of their time. I love the European rv's
Did you see many all-electric RV’s?
Thanks for a fantastic video Matt! I hope you are doing well. You guys seemed a bit jetlagged throughout the RV tours. Next time load up on some espressos! lol
Peugeot is part of the Stellantis group, Which Jeep, Chrysler, Ram is part of too as well as Fiat, Alfa Romeo etc.
Love the modern look. US ones are same old same ol.
I would like to get your impression of an Oasis 540 if they're at the show.
Peugeot is pronounced poo-zhoh, or poo-joe if that’s easier for you.
Wow 💖 🎉beautiful I gotta say, I was really confused. I'm like, where in America are they, and of course, it's not america 😂😂😂😂
Matt, Do you think the roads are wide enough in Europe for those larger RV's? Arnt most cars over there small for a reason.
We use station wagons over here.
I'm trying to see this but it keeps buffing 😢. Have to chach it later 😢
Im interested in Outdoors RV... Any comments on this Matt?
Seeing these European RV's just makes me think the US market is insanely out of touch with style and finishes and prices. These RV's that you are showing us are making the US ones look like really doggy and cheaply made. Wish some of these could be on the US market.
Is that Andrea kardashian!! Always looking smashing🎉❤ Euro style, love that dress!!!!
I wish you would have listed the ones you showed today.
Peugeot... pu-jo
