After turning out a magnificent cover of the brilliant song, "Say Something," the kids of the PS22 Chorus were treated to a visit from the fantastic gentlemen of A Great Big World! The two groups joined forces for a couple of smashing performances, including this powerful rendition of the aforementioned hit originally performed with Christina Aguilera! Видеоклипы
Say what you will, but I love seeing the kids and how they are FEELING the music. They're not just singing it because it's a song or because they're in chorus. Just look at them sway, close their eyes, etc.
God I hope my kids grow up to appreciate music like this. ANY music, regardless of genre.
Brilliantly said:)
EXACTLY.
Agree!! I just wrote that somewhere else, they're so sweet and real. I prefer them on their own more than the duets with original singers. Though this one is very nice! With most of them the 'star's' energy comes across as being about them which kind of ruins the buzz. LOL.
I've watched a few of these videos now and I've got to say the teacher is phenomenal. If only all teachers had such passion and commitment to excellence. These kids will remember him for the rest of their lives, I'm sure. It's lovely to see kids so engaged and singing with such expression.
Great speech -claps-
Agreed. Knowing the school has probably lost a lot of funding for chorus, to see them STILL posting these videos restores some hope. The logistics and hoops theve had to jump through to just be able to post these videos, and for them to continue to jump through these hoops shows their dedication to this program. Also it's got to help engage the kids and make them excited. Anything that gets kids excited for any school that doesnt injure anyone is a win. Also it doesnt seem to just be a show. This teacher seem to know their stuff and has found a way to teach young children these things, in a way they can understand, which will help the health and longevity of their voice (not just in regards to singing, but speaking). Teaching vocal technique is not the easiest. Even adults struggle with it (kindof like algebra. A lot of people dont get it until all of a sudden it clicks and they have that ah ha moment) and it's something you can overcomplicate when trying to explain. But it's quite obvious these kids are learning not just how to read music and key and pitch and chest voice vs head voice vs mix, but they also seem to be taught the mechanics of it, which is important when it comes to things like support vs strain.
Just bravo.
Love ❤️❤️❤️
I Agree these teachers are fantastic!
Will always remember my music teachers in grade school, JH, and HS.
These kids' lives will forever be affected in a positive way by this music teacher.
The soloist did a great job. She seemed so humble, the way she shyly looked down after singing.
She was GREAT!
This takes a whole new meaning sung by children. So many have parents walk out, leave or worse. As a teacher, I see that heartbreak. Tears. This song is so much more than what I originally thought. God help the children abandoned, lost, and crying out for help.
Chad looks so cute and awkward sitting with the kids.
This is so cool and adorable.
the girl soloist did such a good job. and everyone else. its so cute.
Fifth Harmony brought me here and I'm so glad bc these angels somehow made me shed tears just listening to them sing :') I can honestly say I'm a huge fan of them now!
same :')
same!
Me too!!

9 years later. I so want to know where this little girl, now a lady, is now? She always caught my eye. Hope her dreams are coming true. ❤
I went to PS 22 50 years ago. The auditorium looks like it has not changed a bit, and the wooden seats are the same. It is so nice to see what good work is going on with the children there today. Great job!
+SoundersFCFan AHAHAHAHAHAHAA
+SoundersFCFan actually, the chorus was founded in 2000, the school itself was built for MANY MANY years before
The emotion that the kids put into it is mesmerizing. You look at most choruses today and the kids just don't care because they have to take it for credits or something unless its like a show choir. The fact that these kids are in 5th grade is amazing. Great job.
i dont know why every time i listen to those guys my tears drop up :((((((
yasser abozaid I tear up at season 7 ep 1 of the walking dead
Who keeps chopping onions in here. Dammit, now have to dry my keyboard off.
Jun Villanueva I don’t know... but after watching them do I’m gonna love you through it I need a new keyboard
@@collinnc2001 i just watched that video and i can't
It's unbelievable with how much emotion they sing...
I love them
These give the chills. The kids are amazing and their music teacher is a genius! Bravo
this is so beautiful. coming from the mouths of kids, the song makes me think about all the hardships at home, with peers, and in life in general that young people have to face far before they're ready to.
So sad. i heard someone a few years ago say that kids today have to make decisions at a younger age than we did.....heck they have to make decisions we NEVER had to make.
as I watch this video..it makes me think about all those kids in Aleppo and around the world affected by armed conflict and abuse....they deserve so much more....to be happy, to be loved.. and most specially the right to life...I wonder when that awful war will end.....
These children have been through a lot you can see from their beautiful sad faces. It makes me think of Aleppo too and yes around the world. God BLESS THEM
all
It is so beautiful. Love viewing these videos.
I'm in 3rd grade we are doing a choir I love this song 😘💕💕
Amazing 2020 I'm watching and I'm very emotional
So good,xx
When I was growing up , music was always treated as something shameful to be involved in. I became a musician but I really never felt acceptance from the surrounding I was growing up in. Even my family was judgemental about it. It's so beautiful to see kids loving and doing music. Go go go!
Listening to the voices of Angels here....
Music is a wonderful thing. Too see all these kids put they're emotions in this song. School districts need to put this back in curriculum.
*their
I tried to play aggressive like him on the piano, and i broke a key.

Incredible. I couldn't stop the tears.
This was beautiful and heart-wrenching 2020 keeps bringing me back and forth to melancholy songs and crying things out but I'm telling you, these kids made my day
At 2:35, I almost lost it!
My heart is *NIGHTMARISHLY* sensitive!

This reminds me of when my cat passed. It gets me crying every time. It gets better, but you'll never forget the pain:(
Kudos to the director. He obviously has passion
KUDOS to the instructor of the PS22 Chorus for instilling an amazing love of lyrics and music to these students… they actually feel the music and commit totally to it!!
This is the right way to teach music.

Soy un hombre y tambien estoy llorando , mierda que tema
These kids will know how to love well. And that's really heart warming
I have to say this song is new to me,even though it's been out for a while...these children did an AMAZING JOB! watch the video for this song it's very touching....
Beautiful! So much emotion. Mr. B brings out the best in the children.
I can't believe today is the very first time I've ever heard of PS22.....You are ALL so SO amazing!!! I've been listening since I saw the first video my friend shared. My word you are all sincerely amazing!! Keep up the GREAT work!
I'm totally addicted to PS22!
It's unblievable that they are so young and they can emote the lyrics as well as any adult. Their display of passion is monumental.
The lion share of the credit must surely go to their teacher.
Kudos!
These are some of the best reasons to keep music programs alive in schools... Good on you.
These kids are so, so lucky to have a teacher who can not only teach them music but who is able to pick songs that the kids can relate to and that may help them process some of the angst of later years. I just love to listen to them.
These babies are breath-taking!
Thank you for touching my heart with your beautiful voices and this awesome song. Also thank you to ALL the music teachers for all the time you take up with these talented children...GOD BLESS YOU...Peace & Love.
How amazing they invited some great singers
They are so talented! bless them and you for creating such a wonderful unity within a small community. when hearts are united as one for a common cause - nothing is impossible, not even the in probable!
All kids need to experience this feeling or succeeding through the Arts. Bravo to PS22…..in my hometown…New York City! When I see something like this, then read an article how another, yet another music, art, etc…program is being pulled for lack of funding, solely because it doesn't bring in the money like sports do (also important but neither more so or less than, the Arts), I become so saddened. Look at the emotion these kids had when singing this song, boys and girls. Some even seemed to be signing the song, but that may have been them, emoting. Politicians, from Federal to State to County to Local and the Board of Education MUST remember and be educated about the arts. It is NOT frivolous. Learning about music helps kids with math, spelling, science, calculus, physics, algebra (in a big way. Indeed, if I didn't know how to read music, I think I would have failed algebra but I did know how to read music and through algebra, change 3/4 time into 1/4 time and the like). The Arts are always the first to be cut, but personally, I think it it equally if not more, important than many of the 'RRR' courses. I mean, they keep handwriting courses, but cut the Arts when in the end, we all write as our brains dictate us to write, regardless of what is written on those "A, B, C" placards that were in every class I was ever in…up near the ceiling…! Again, Bravo '22' and A Great Big World for bringing them music, culture, (it is a great sing, by the way) and inspiration, of course.

Shame to all that put thumbs down. You should be so lucky that your children's school music teacher had a his much passion and get these children noticed by music stars
Thank you for inspiring us, everyday. I rewatch your videos all the time, and try to stay up-to-date with all of your greatness. As an educator, your constant inspiration keeps my heart and soul filled. Bless all of you.

You never cease to amaze. Please continue to share this great gift you have begun to master. A voice can help people more than any doctor when used as well as yours.
These children are beautiful; so engaged and feeling. I hope they don't lose this innocence.
Okay, I'm almost 57 years old and I wish I had gone to PS 22. They must have a great musical director, because they have had amazing guests! These are once in a lifetime moments. Good on them!
What an anomaly.. on so many wonderful levels. These dudes will have good karma all the way to their stairway into heaven.. if nothing else, I am a fan, simply because they devoted their attention to the future of America. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before with any other artists. Very cool. God Bless
Wonderful! I love you guys again! hehe
I wish ALL schools would have a music program like this. Music adds SO much to a child's life. It helps them learn and it's a skill they'll adore all their lives. Kudos to this teacher for teaching the kids relevant songs...songs they hear on the computer and radio. And I have to add...they're REALLY GOOD!
Wish I could stop crying! This was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this with us all.
This is just beautiful!! The kids did a wonderful job!

This has to be the most beautiful video I have seen on RUclips so far. Well done to all involved, and even as I watch this so many years later, the tears are flowing and the realization that children are our future, is so real.
So much passion, absolutely beautiful
Ooh God this is my song and everytime I hear this I always feel so sad as the only person I truly love doesn't love me.
Absolutely amazing and it brought tears to my eyes! Those voices! Those faces! #bravo!
