Wtf, I platinumed the game, went through it over half a dozen times, and I never saw his ending... That’s so...somber. Whoever said that Sekiro lacked the character stories of Souls is straight up wrong.
Little Moth I wouldn’t say it’s that, but rather that people have taken too long to properly piece the story together and make it widely known. All of Miyazaki’s games are, undoubtedly, literary masterpieces, but they take a long time to decipher; Sekiro’s still going through that process.
@@Athropod101 I don't believe Sekiro is disliked by some because of it's story, but rather because of it's mechanics. The first thing anyone ever talks about is how "bad" the mechanics are. Me before watching the video: I don't care about this literally small side character. Me after watching the video: 1. Lie on the ground 2. Try not to cry 3. Cry a lot
Theory: mist noble is the purified mortal Takeru. He shed a tear for Tomoe at her grave and traveled to the mibu temple to seal away the immortal infestation of the palace. Turning away from immortality and its enlightenment goes against the corrupted beliefs of the ashina monks. That is why the dying monk says he has strayed from the buddha.
Not bad, but that monk specifically says that the Mist Noble strayed from Buddha, whereas the Senpou monks do not care about Buddha, focusing on immortality instead. Also, if he wanted to seal away the immortal infestation and was indeed Takeru, why did he go to a place that's connected to the Mibu Village instead of the Ashina Depths through Senpou Temple? To get to Mibu Village from Senpou, you have to get back to Ashina Castle, get down into the dungeons, get past the Shichimen Asshole, jump into a bottomless pit, get past the Snake Eyes, potentially an enraged gorilla and then bounce on down to Mibu Village, whereas getting to the other site (the monkeys) is far shorter of an ordeal from Senpou Temple.
@@darklord884 Takeru guarded Mibu to stop the slug offerings that the corrupted monk was enforcing. The great carp ate the slugs grew fat till it died of infestation. It's corps lands in the gardian ape's lake that is overlooked by the centipede men past the bridge the snake destroys. The centipede men retrieve the centipedes from the carp (giving them their name) and are spirited to senpou with the shinobi fan. This supply chain I think they used completely bypasses the ashina depths. I also think the snakes can also get people to mibu village without jumping down an infinite hole. First snake takes you to the caves. From their you can get to the depths without jumping down any holes. That's how the snake eyed people got down their from the gun fort. If the second snake ate you it probably would have tried to spit you out in mibu village if it could find it. That's why their is snake skin on the mibu village gate. Because Takeru is guarding mibu the whole chain breaks and the great carp destroys the fountainhead in anger because it has lost its food supply.
@@doubleg281 That requires both the Great Serpent and the Guardian Ape to cooperate, which I don't think they did. To be honest, I haven't completed the game yet (still haven't beaten the Corrupted Monk yet for example) but to me, the Great Ape looks like it was simply looking for a mate, hence why it guarded the flower. And the Great Serpent seems to eat anything it sees such as Sekiro himself or the monkey you can puppeteer with ninjutsu. I think it's an interesting theory, but some parts of it seem a little far-fetched. I still don't quite get why the Mist Noble would be a fish-like prson this way. There are no fish-like mutations like in Bloodborne, so I assumed the Mist Noble was like this from beginning. This theory also ignores things like O'rin of the Water who kills pretty much anyone coming or going from the Corrupted Monk's place to the village unless you scale the bridge with grappling hooks, which I doubt the mindless villagers could do.
