Delivery Man (2013) is a official remake of the 2011 Canadian (Quebec) film Starbucks(2011)
while Vicky Donor came in 2012.

Funfact During a conversation with Bollywood Thikana, Saahil said that director Aditya told him that they were making Daar film similar to movie 'Cape Fear which was recommended by his father to watch and it's said fear movie is also inspired by Cape fear
Cape fear (1991)itself was remake of 60's movie with same name. Cape fear was about a psychopath killer with no remorse and Darr was about obsessed lover with troubled past. Watch them there are no similarities. Fear itself it mix of many thriller from 80's Hollywood movies and obsessed lover boy is only similarity with Darr
but cape fear had a different concept of a pschopathic killer and was out for revenge whereas Darr was about an obsessed lover those two are different things

They get permission or they can get sued, you need to get a license/permission/royalties. Like the South Korean Oldboy(2003) which was based on a Japanese Manga then remade by Hollywood studios. The difference is that Bollywood copies movies and scenes without getting permission, basically plagiarism.

A correction- Darr(1993) is inspired from Hollywood movie Cape fear(1991). The movie"Fear"of which he is talking about is a 1996 film from which a hindi movie named "Aetbaar"was made starring John Abraham, Bipasa Basu and Amitabh Bachchan in 2004.
