I am from NSW, spent one year in Victoria. The best part was spending most of the time doing east Gippsland from Thredbo to Omeo then back over to Entrance and then back into Gippsland best time of my life . So yes Victoria has some great places. I said it was done in a Toyota van but I meant Mitsubishi van before 2003 style. We took out the seats in the back and threw foam in the back and had sleeping bags and blankets. It was rough but it was great travelling. All over high country of NSW and Victoria. We use it like a 4 wheel drive. But on smooth tracks because it was to low for some roads. Your videos remind me of my travels in the 90’s. You are doing off the grid driving we played it safe by doing small off the grid drive. I think if we done your drives the van would’ve died haha. During that time it was drought and we saw Lake Eildon with no water , with very little water anyway. I lost my film of that time never to get back those photos. Thankyou for your video’s.

      D'day Kim,
Thats a great trip from Thredbo to Omeo. Did you travel on the Barry Way along the Snowy River?
Simple camping setups are the best i reckon.
The easier it is to go camping, the more you go and the more enjoyable your trip is.
Thanks for your feedback and im glad you enjoyed that trip.

G'day Tim, I did the exact same track last week and had a ball. McMillans lookout was just eye candy, great track and quite remote I might add, only passed 2 dirt bikes at the intersection of Mt. Margaret and Hickeys Creek East track. There was that same issue that popped up with my GU, my auto patrol just keeps running away on steep downhills therefore more braking (even though I tried to stay off it sometimes it couldn't be helped) and that dreadful smell of burnt pads and minor brake fade. I'm now seriously looking into 43% reduction gears to give me better control going downhill but can't seen to find any place that would have the gears and fit it it themselves. Any suggestions would be helpful of where I can get them installed. Cheers mate.

I had a 4wd trip planned mid April in the Avon wilderness with bush camping for 3 nights, same tracks as you did in this video. Just wanted to know if bush camping is allowed or that's closed off too. Cheers. I'll send an email off to them too regarding this query, hopefully they reply back....Edit: Got an email back from them saying that ALL campsites including free campsites are closed. It's classed as non essential travel and inspections will be carried out by DELWP, Parks Victoria and Local Government authorised officers to make sure all campsites are empty. Especially the part at 13:18, how deep would that be now? Also did you go all the way to the end of Hickeys creek track to Ben Crauchan creek then come back or did you turn right on Dolodrook track. G'day Trevor,
      Nah mate, not yet.
I have a new UHF to go in, just trying to get time to fit it up.
Might be a job over Christmas. Lol
      Cheers Tim.

      I’ll get back one day.
      Cheers Tim.

Looks like geat footage but i had to switch off as the music makes it unwatchable for me. No hate just some honest feedback.

      Gday Mack ,
I don’t get many issues about the music selection in my videos.
But I greatly appreciate the feedback.
I’m a one man band with my videos.
I’m sure no expert, but always try and put together the best I can.
      Thanks again
      Cheers Tim.

@@timbates4wdadventures thanks for making time to reply. Sorry for not making myself more clear. Its not your choice in music, nothing wrong with that, its the fact that there is music at all. I think most people would prefer to hear the roar of the engines, friendly chats or the sounds of nature instead of a music soundtrack. It makes me personally feel like i am there with you if there is no music. If you have a look at the most popular similar outdoor channels you will notice that they have very little music if any at all. Cheers
