Parents born 1924 - first 10 yrs spent with grandparents - They Always Had Food Stashed! 1986 moved her to Texas - she had canned foods stacked in the closets of her bedroom and spare rooms, shed. While packing, she broke down and cried b/c mom wanted to throw away her food she'd stored! Cans were bulging! She threw it away at night while she was sleeping ... This is The Depression of my era ... Grateful I'm Old 🙂
I've Always bought extra food and I believe it's because of the trauma my parent and grandparents experienced ...
I’ve been prepping for a number of years. Unfortunately I rent so what I grow is limited to containers. I am very close to my farmers. I buy all my food from them and have for years. Need to stay where I am at the moment and it’s nearly impossible to find even a small piece of land here in Lancaster County, PA.
Wish i had ur optimism, but considering the latest news today, 1a is almost gone as they start their move,,, i doubt there is 3 left let alone 10 years, by 10 u will not recognize this planet

The fact that at this point in time we are not being urged by the government to have victory gardens... Survival gardens. Tells you know everything you need to know.
The extremely evil elites plus do not want anyone to, they are wanting for complete CONTROL over all people's lives, rely on them to provide😂😂
I'm pretty sure Biden mumbled something about governmental dystopian tyranny gardens no? 😂
@@miscanime Some folks want to force a garden registration. Don't let'em.
To them, independent Americans are the enemy.
If we are growing our own food, we aren't using gas, at the stores as much, etc etc means less taxes they can suck out of us.
The government system is only relevant because people are duped into the system.
They HATE independent self reliant individuals and families.
The Government are actively trying to suppress self sufficiency !
For those of us who remember growing up in a small midwestern town we could buy absolutely everything that we needed. Our own Federal Government has gotten rid of almost those mom and pop places.
Control the food and you can easily control the population. This is what they really want.
Exactly! Small midwestern Mom & Pop shop. Other than a once-a-month trip to the city, we had everything we needed from this little shop. And I was mad when the first chain store (dollar general) came to town. We had NO chain restaurants or stores. No chain anything. Life was good. We were happy. Leave us alone. We won't comply. We'd rather go to jail than let you slowly take away everything we hold dear while we sit complicity by.
I prepped for Y2K. It came and went, nothing happened until a week later when I lost my job. I then realized that I wasn't actually prepping, I was being prudent.
Wow. What a great testimonial.
Yes, exactly! People see it as panic or paranoia when in reality it is WISE to be prepared.
That wa my verry first thing. I was like 15 and I put some water in the freezer just in case.

That all this grief is being perpetuated on purpose by sociopaths bent on power, control, self enrichment is the scary part.

When I was a kid, in the 50's and 60's, EVERYONE had a garden. Every town lot had a garden and a clothes line. Many had poultry. Everyone knew how to grow things and keep the weeds down. Apparently a lost art.
It is becoming illegal as well. All those people from the 50's Are now considered potential terrorists.
This video has just confirmed my mission for 2024. A month ago, my wife and I felt strongly to double our garden size as well as buying a bit more dried goods for long-term storage. Thank you for your message. Thank you, Jesus, for providing for your children. Thank you for sharing with the community
Your comment makes it worth the effort to keep publishing. Thanks for taking the time to share!
What seemed extreme and paranoid 4 years ago seems very reasonable now though, most people have very short memories and pay little attention to what's happening.
TRUE, WELL SAID!
Its because they're trying really hard to grasp for what was pre-pandemic
"This is a drill, mercy given." -I was hearing internally also. God speaks to His children if we listen ❤

Much love and thanks from South Africa 🇿🇦 We face exactly the same crisis but nobody’s talking about it. ❤️
How do the whi tests people pay such a huge bl ack population 🤔 welfare
Way back in the apartheid time my nana always use to say that ; in future people will have money in their hands but won't even be able to afford to buy food.
That's beautiful. I remember when my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and given months to live. She was watching the news and a young person died after graduation and had done great academically. She said while the doctors are telling me how much time I have but this young man/ woman didn't have a warning. Only the Lord knows our days. Living in wisdom and obedience for your family and others is not about fear. The discernment from the Lord will always look like something negative to the outside but he's called us to such a time. I only have a quarter acre but God is in control!
I have yet to find a more noble Proverbs 31 woman on the internet than you.

Nah GOD says if you are able to overcome your sexual desires, you better stay virgin focused on worshipping GOD. And he also says, blessed are the women who have no children in the end times.
@@raise7478 no one knows when the end times will be, why miss out on family if you desire one? The children of Israel multiplied dramatically when in bondage in Egypt. The Bible calls children a blessing and a gift, and they are a little piece of Heaven on earth. A Christian family is the foundation of a great society.
I honestly think you have less than a year. If you are not established and you do not have heirloom seeds from past years for your area. I believe you're going to have a tough time. Root crops are a must in my opinion. Chickens and we know if we've been paying attention they are attacking them. Rabbits. You know the saying they breed like rabbits. But you have to be able to provide your own food to feed them so that you can feed yourself and your family. This is a daunting task. And I am old. I only hope younger people are paying attention. I do my best to teach them what I know but this is extremely difficult in this time we live in. Oh and I almost forgot. You're r going to need a greenhouse. And if you follow the suspicious observers channel. You might need an ark.
An armored ark... but even that wont help what is coming
I'll bring the ark. You just get those seeds planted.
@poetryfrompoverty ark wont do you any good for what is coming, let alone trying to grow anything
I have rabbits. I grow lots of kale, mustard, and dandelions for their fodder.
Yams, taters, and taro are year round roots.
I also have a biogas digester to create energy from waste.

I kidd around... Good advice 👍
Any healthy adult with even a little land can grow a tremendous amount of food, which can be started in any given year. What can't be started so quickly is building the knowledge and supplies/equipment/storage needed to do so and preserve it. I often tell folks that I can grow and preserve enough food for my family, but the diet would initially be very boring. It is this aspect that I'm now concentrating on, particularly developing perennial food sources. I try to improve my security every year. Last year's major project was a wood shed addition to the barn to hold 12 cords of wood, which is now just about full, representing 2+ years of heating. My range top now uses propane, which of course you can stockpile and doesn't require electricity to work. Similarly I now have a farm gas tank that I cycle fresh fuel through, which with some rationing on my part is enough for about a year of use. Since I'm in my 70s I don't expect to reap a lot of the benefits I'm working on, but it will be there for subsequent generations if needed.
You are preparing for yourself and your future’s generations. My next door neighbor is in his 90s and doing the same. I think it’s wonderful. In addition to our regular preps, we’re building a library for all the kids and grandkids.
That is the hope if its not seized
Growing herbs can help with the boring diet. We dehydrate and freeze dry them. It takes up very little space.
Wish I could figure out the growing a "tremendous amount of food" part. Been trying for years and only get a small amount. Not enough to live on.
@colleengleason6533 good ground, enough free wood to build what you need... simple start are pallets and learn to compost while u learn kratky method of growing food to reduce your food bill... without funds and guidance it takes time. . Been working on it for 10 years and still trying to make a dent
We can give our opinions, perspectives and advice all we want but unless we have the Holy Spirit guiding us daily we will continue to live for ourselves and fight the wrong battles. He will be a voice behind us saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it.”
Food insecurity is everywhere. I moved from south texas to west africa, senegal, and its here also. We have bought our own little farm and are working to make it regenerative and sustainable for us as the world around us falls apart. If you dont have land buy pots and grow your food and can some also. Buy dry goods and can meat for later use. You will not regret it and as always Support your local farmers !!! ❤ and also remember security issues also. If you dont own a gun go get into a class and learn how to use one and buy one. Things will get crazy when people have no food ❤
Being a Florida native I'm used to prepping because of the hurricanes. Northerners either wait until the last minute, buy a bunch of junk that they will never use, or load up on perishable food items.😂
Northerners get ready for blizzards in winter by stocking up in the summer and fall.
Small correction: WWI ended in 1918, Nov 11, 1918 to be exact. It started in 1914.
Great message about being prepared.
I choose to call it having oil for my lanterns. And I plan to respond in the same way those women did if people come to me and want me to share my oil. Everyone should know by now that we can’t trust our current system. They need to get ready too.
See, what you just said at 3:45 of the video that is the type of rational thinking that is just common sense and what is normal historical practice that the powers that be try to turn around and say that this type of behavior is radical and subversive and so forth to keep us from wanting to be prepared and to just remain helpless and submissive.
Another fine video, indeed the near Stockholm Syndrome levels of grid dependency is alarming in any country with a land to people ratio that can feed produce an exportable food surplus. Speaking of 2020, I remember going to the grocery store when ALL the flour was gone, but the yeast, baking soda/powder and even the salt was untouched, clearly no one knew how to use that flour they grabbed in fear. A better investment than flour without yeast powder soda or even salt would have been Bibles, yet again few panic who own and use one.
All it takes is an EMP. Natural, or otherwise.
Questionable, but there is always something that can go wrong in a persons life that makes having some (comfort) food on the shelf and some months of rent/insurance/etc. money in the savingsaccount worth the planning. I have done these simply due to living alone, and from finding a shelf empty of needed animal feed (problem at the factory). It is usually not the big stuff you need to worry about, but the "small" stuff like job loss, health issues and so forth. It is wise to prep for problems that will impact only your family, because those have a high likelyhood of happening and can very well save your sanity and marriage.

Perfect message for our times! As Christians, we appreciate creation and the superior Wisdom of it. Not only can we demonstrate resistance to fear but working with joy and peace for life affirming processes and results. Just In Time (JIT) logistics is a corporate enhancement for profits but is woefully inadequate for disruptions. Maybe we can imagine and refine "De-Corporating" ourselves in all areas of life immune support, food preservation and production, land conservation and defense, off grid energy production, etc etc. Classic methods coupled with modern science could yield exciting results. Most importantly, we need each other there's a lot of damage our reliance on technology has done to us socially and a Spiritual revival will bring us together in love and respect. Let's occupy!
Beautifully said. I run a food shelf in a small northern MN town. I am having trouble getting enough food from our food bank 2 hours away due to a decrease in donated food. This is because there is no longer the excess we once had. I am likely preaching to the choir but LEARN TO GROW YOUR OWN FOOD!!! Learn to preserve your own food. Learn to cook your own food from ingredients. Know your neighbors. Create community. Support your local small food producers.
I don't know just spitballing here. Over on the east coast we got more water than we can pump out of our basements. Maybe instead of building oil pipelines we should be building water pipe lines. And pump the water from where it's not wanted to where it is needed. Just typing out loud here.
Yes, something to think about. There are probably many currently unused pipelines not suitable for hazardous materials that could move A lot of water easily.

I have been minor league prepping for the last 25 years. During Covid I didn’t need a single thing but I did take any and every opportunity to buy what was available to prevent dipping into my supplies too much. By the end I had a few ideas for improvement and barely touched my year supply. However, we also strongly felt that this was a warning to us to do more. More gardening. More hunting and fishing. Don’t let the governments of the world threaten your ability to survive.
GOD BLESS THIS young lady
You ARE a blessing. Thank you for accepting His Light into you and sharing it for others.
All good advice, but now its also kinda recommended you also do a video about how to defend your farm properly, because you've put a big target on it saying that you're doing extra stuff to prepare for bad times.I don't know what kind of locals you have but in bad times people change and you don't know if you will get only locals if things go bad.I can only imagine that in a true hunger farms will be major targets so you need to show people its not going to be an easy one.

It seems like half the homes in the Midwest have some level of garden in the backyard. Gardens provide many benefits. The vegetables are more nutritious than those from industrial producers. You can't buy vegetables that fresh. It's fun and saves money.
Gardening also has a lot of synergies with animals. Chickens can turn rotten tomatoes into fresh eggs. Goats seem to prefer freshly pulled weeds over any other food. Spring is when wasted hay and used bedding become garden mulch. Manure is better than most fertilizers and spreading it on a garden is a second chance to absorb purchased nutrients.

I was lucky growing up with people who can be considered the last of the old time pioneers in the Pacific Northwest and Montana. I'm 69 my Great Grandmother died in the 60's in her late 90's my Grandparents (Scots and American) started out life with horse drawn equipment and travel. Both Grand Dads fought in WW1 and lived through the Great Depression with my parents as children doing what today is called "Prepping" or "Survivalisim". This was a normal way of life on both sides of the Atlantic. I was raising my own Sheep as a 4-H project while my Scots Dad was a Ranch hand or Cowboy on various ranching and farming operations my American Mom grew up in the Idaho mountains and Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington learning to hunt, Fish. At 20 she got into Nursing later she became a food scientist making recipes that are still in use for major nationwide food production companies. They still grew gardens and put by food until they couldn't anymore. This was a way of life for them and not a movement.

I'm learning how to farm on 1/8 acre. I can move to a bigger one later. We talk about a grid collapse. Have books on farming...practice farming...have notebooks...take notes...have everyone ON PAPER...Hardcopies don't need the grid to be used. Also, learn how to farm the old fashioned way...like with a sickle. Better to learn all of that now when you can take the time to learn one skill at a time...a lot better than having to figure EVERYTHING out at once! If the grid goes, you'll be grinding flour with a hand cranked mill baking bread with a wood fired oven. Best to learn how to do all that now...or you WILL learn it later.
Thank you for your clarity.

thankyou, I hate being called a "prepper", although I do everything I can think of to create a more resilient lifestyle. The last few decades of modern Western culture's 'security' is only a blip in the history of humankind. You have so clearly stated the real reasons for transitioning to a more 'normal' way of being
I'm a prepper that started homesteading, I have always had chickens, so I decided to get goats 🐐...what a huge mistake 😂, then got some sheep to go through the learning process, I learned a lot, sheep are giant rabbits that reproduce pretty quickly, I reduced my herd dramatically, they reproduced on pasture, I now know I can produce a lot of meat on property.
You don’t know me; I’m pretty sure I’m old enough to be your grandmother (or close) so hopefully this doesn’t sound patronizing…I’m proud of you and how you are presenting this…G-D first, then the rest. I think knowledge is everything. The loss of knowledge, is in my opinion, a sin against God. Practice makes perfect. We need to be planting gardens, raising chickens, and other livestock if we can, so we know how to do it when we need to. I have gone from a very small, 4 x 10 foot garden to 3 acres, 2 or 3 chickens to a farm. Its been fun, frustrating, and enriching.
Thanks for being logical ❤️
Shepherdess, you are my hero.

I tell people that I am not a prepper. I just have developed a lifestyle that is good and healthy. With the thought in mind of hard times. If we have a couple of cows and a few sheep, goats and chickens. With a small garden and fruit trees my food supply is as local as it gets.
Growing a garden and raising animals CAN also bring a lot of enjoyment and/or character development 😅, it is also a great opportunity to teach younger ones character development and can also be a networking opportunity as you'll probably meet a lot of other people in the area who also like guardening. It also is fascinating to learn about how God made this world so amazing. For example, i had kept the cows off a field because I wanted the grass to reseed. But then I ran out of food on the other field and so I had to bring the cows to the first field I was surprised and happy to notice that they left the tall grass ,so that it could finish maturing, and went for the smaller fresh shoots.
Used to work at DG, now they rip people off cuz of not be honest on the prices on the shelves. Sad, pisses me off. But people would come in before weather. Id tell some people that that store would NOT be able to do much in a emergency..during water issues, stores brought in water cuz we ran out.
