We don't expect or even tolerate receiving nothing for the something we put out in our jobs. Why should we expect Carolyn or any other rv nomads to give of their time, skills, knowledge, experience (that we benefit from), for nothing? You go, Girl! It's a new form of self-employment and we just need to get our heads around it.

I'm about to turn 39 years old, and like you, I'm also a writer who was always discouraged from pursuing it (and I still receive quite a bit of that even now). I stopped writing for an extended period, and pretty much all the joy went out of my life. A few years ago, I allowed myself to finally give over to my love of writing again, and I have to say, nothing makes me feel more whole, nothing makes me feel such a keen sense of well-being and fulfillment. I will never go back to a life without it.
Hence, that's why I'm so excited for you, to see you making the decision to give over yourself, and get back to that dream. I wondered if I had gotten 'too old' to go back to it myself. It's a wonderful feeling to realize the saying "It's never too late" is actually 100% true and not just a cliche', isn't it? You can still have those dreams, and I'm so happy you're going to chase them. You're going to have so much fun, and it's going to feel AMAZING! It's going to be great, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it all takes you.
I will definitely continue to follow your adventures, and I'll be hitting that 'like' button (I do forget sometimes, I admit it's helpful to me when creators include a reminder, I don't personally find that pushy or annoying). You're so inspirational, for so many reasons. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!

Congrats, Carri! I'm a wee bit envious. Are you heading into the states, or staying in Canada? I'm from BC, the lower mainland and hope to head south for a couple of weeks in my van later this year to "test" out this lifestyle. Good luck to you! :)

Hi...I know you made this awhile ago. I will tell you that I put so many dreams on hold, I thought when I reached age 65 and retired that it was too late. Wrong! At age 65 I began a whole new phase of life and in the last ten years I have been able to make ALL MY DREAMS come true! I kid you not. I have had several art shows, remarried and had a real wedding, reconnected with my grown children and been closer than ever before to my friends and family. It keeps getting better over time but there will be rough spots. You are a joy to watch and I feel you are a friend.
Congratulations on your decision!! I watch every video you publish and I think it's wonderful that you are taking this to the next level and following your dreams to be free and to experience life.

I've got to say you have got to be my most very favorite vloger/youtuber. Unfortunately I dont have the financial resources to support you monetarily. But I watch you everyday, repeats even. I learn so much from you. My dream is to be where you're at. I may not ever make it to your level but I keep holding onto the dream.
Thank you for posting your journey! I am taking care of my elderly family right now, yet I dream of going on the road when my family passes on. I dream of traveling the country in my camper van. Currently, it is in the shop. I will be renovating it slowly over the next few years. Huge hugs!
Carolyn I just wanted to say I used a ramp at my door after a bad herniated disc. When I did not need ramp anymore I had to rebuild my leg muscles going up one step. Same with using electric wheel chairs in stores. After 2 months or so I got up out of wheel chair I could barely walk. So I did not use chair again to rebuild my walking muscles. I did at first need to use push shopping cart. If there are stairs I use them to build muscle. I am saying this for ur dog. Go as long as possible not making a ramp 4 him so he keeps his muscles and let him walk as far as he can. When we get old we should use more muscle, not less to keep strong. I watch all the videos all the way through. Don't want to miss a thing.. So cool your going to follow your dreams, just this year I have decided to also try and publish my manuscripts 7 in total that I wrote over the years, they are more like Stephen Kings books. People that have read them said I really need to do something with them. That they enjoyed them. So I have been going to follow my dreams also... In the process of changing my life so I can be happy I am 62 years old and worked in dept of Corrections and some type of law enforcement all my life...I have been a slave to the government and now it's time for me to be free of the 9 to 5 job that really was almost 16 hours a day at times. It is now time for me and my handicapped daughter that is 45 to do what makes us feel happy, you are such a inspiration... Abso "f__king" lutely!!!! You and Bob and so many others living the RV/Van/Car Nomad Life have inspired me to turn around and listen to my Gypsy HEART, 65 and finally Living my dream. Well, I moving toward that by moving into my car, so I don't pay rent and still work. Save the money that would go to rent to buy a VAN to live in. I will be moving out of my apartment by May 1st. I will be storing my belongings and paying for storage until I can buy the Van I want. I HAVE A PLAN. Thank you Carolyn.

family who loves camping and I have a gypsy spirit that just won't quit,
lol. I appreciate your videos. I watch them while I'm working in my
climate controlled office, I see your struggles, adventures, trials and
freedom. I live vicariously through you. I realize that we all make
sacrifices, we all struggle to make the right decisions for our lives
and it doesn't matter which path we take, there is good and bad no
matter what. I commend you for living your life on your terms. Keep the

Hi Carolyn, just want to let you know that a number of RUclipsr's get haters harassing them to extreme degrees, for no apparent reason. It's really shocking - these haters must have no lives at all, and their meanness of spirit speaks much more about them than about the people they claim need harassment. It often appears that the more good someone does, the more they get harassed. Just keep up the good work, and good luck with everything. I love your videos!
It's a kind of weird jealousy. Often it's an attempt to make the person they're watching as miserable as the harasser is. People who are bullied, first need to protect themselves and form a tribe of buddies to at the very least.. surround them with kind thoughts. Since Carolyn likes to do alone things and be independent, a physical tribe isn't going to be her thing. Us Friendlies then get to be a tribe of good thought and light. Chase away the darkness.

I don't know if anyone else has posted this but I don't have time to read 100 comments..... it also helps if you watch ads all the way thru. And click once in awhile on ad banners. Comments, and likes. It's easy but can really help. I look forward to seeing where your videos will go when you have freedom to hit the GAS!!
Good to hear that you know how to avoid or reduce problems from abusive people. They are always out there but much more good people who are learning good things.

you start over if that is what you want. you are only 50. you are young and can do what you want to .......before it is too late....... i am 74 and now looking back i have all these feelings about what i lost and now it is too late. being from the generation that thought ladies were supposed to get married and have children and a home!!! well, i tried 7 times. nothing has worked and now i am lost and feel too old to do anything . so you keep making those videos, lots of us out here need you. thank you

I subscribed, & even though I have no desire to live the RV life myself (at this time?!), I enjoy getting the 2nd experience of watching others experiences at it, & I find your videos and you inspirational - going for your dream!!! I do have one idea/suggestion for titles on your videos - you may not want to implement & that is fine: after the words of the video title if you could put the date you are POSTING the video- such as "Details of my stay at XYZ park Uploaded 7-30-17" - the reason I like it when that is done is so that I can immediately tell/remember if I've already seen that video by keeping up on the posting/upload date. Just an idea; I will certainly keep watching anyway, best wishes!

WOW!!! Here I am watching the 2nd videos of your's that I have watched and I am subscriber #30,091 I am a 46 year old female raised mostly in NM and the rest in OK, I have always been a country, outside person all of my life!! I have had quite a few male horror encounters, but they can all burn, they will never own me period, and never have. I had forgotten a big piece of that over the last ten years causing the needed to do have a reload/reboot take place this last year. Suffice it to say If I didn't know better just in what you have said up to point 14:02 emotionally thought wise, what you and I want where we've been, what people have said and what we bought into, may be different in the who, what, where and when why and how and what we ultimately chose as our "job", but, what we really wanted to do and what inspired us the most and the who what where and when why and how of that actually seems as though we are identical twins! I have always wrote, story told and even make many of the telling's so they work as entertainment and teaching tools all in one. I dislike grammar, as in most cases it is simply used by the elite to try and say and separate themselves as they belong to team upper class because we are educated, while they stick their nose in their and and they are not and thus we are upper class and they are not. The same goes with etiquette, dress, codes, secret codes signs and symbols, speech, and so forth, therefore unless I need the punctuation in what I am saying in type, I only use it when writing professionally, which I am beginning to really see how I can designate the time to actually make the writing happen and take place Thank you so much for taking time to do all you do as you do, but know we know you are human and humanity happens therefore we don't expect perfection, if we did we would want some robot who doesn't know the difference from his owners' toilet and a dog watering dish, lol! I too have watched Pippy and I have watched cheapRVliving and a few others here and there!!!
We are essentially watching you live and we want to learn from you and be inspired so things that happen that you didn't plan and add to or do not take away from your show, please feel free to leave them, and hey, I know a very classy group of ladies that know exactly how to deal with your stalker/trolls who act inappropriately, none should do or say anything anyway, but they like to exist, anyway we could all get together and help you with this troubled male species of evil if you would like and he nor any other would likely ever bother you again, but most importantly, remember to praise GOD for all you have and do and ask for his help and his angels' help to physically and spiritually bind this man and any others wishing you harm, to make him them blind, deaf, smell, touch and mute to you and anything about you whether sought by him/them or others for him or mentioned unknown in passing to him or around him that he no longer know you in any fashion of any sense that he become dumb where you are concerned and this will remove him from you with your trust and faith in the LORD!!!
Hi Carolyn, Thanks for posting another great video. I went ahead and made the changes you suggested and I look forward to seeing more of your video's, VERY inspirational. I'm in the process of downsizing my belongings and selling anything I don't need to hit the road permanently this fall. My parents live in Ariz, and I still live in NH, so this lifestyle will be a good change for me plus I can visit with them at will. I've had vans my whole adult life and have lived in them over the years, mainly in between places to live because I always have a dog and its hard to find apartments that allow dogs. Now its not an issue. Thanks again for posting such great video's with great info. P.S. I don't know if you believe in carrying chemical defense, (Mace, Bear spray, ect.) but FYI, if you do a can of hornet spray, the kind that shoots 20 ft. is just as good as one and it only costs a couple of bucks, just under $3.00 at Wal Mart, I always keep one around myself just in case, keeps intruders away without shooting them. My story abbreviated (hard for me to do!!). I'd always dreamed of RVing when I retired. Well, as I often say...life got in the way of life. Some medical issues, employment went opposite down divorce, market crash, yada yada yada AND then i ended up taking my trailer out for what was to be a couple weeks. Im now at 2-1/2 years full-time. Over that period I connected with RUclips for info on mods to do. Mostly from Eric-Nomadic Fanatic and then Bob Wells. I have followed (subscribed) all three of you and watch every video. Not only informative but enjoyable! I commented to one of yours regarding keeping yourself and system from freezing when you were in the eastern sierra on your way south from Oregon. I have only full-timed it here in the Mammoth area year round. Boon docking in the forest and on BLM for most of the time but when the snows come in I go to a local RV park for three months. Getting ready to disappear back into the forest, soon :-) THAT is what I enjoy. Nature, wildlife and complete solitude. In a year from now when SS checks begin then I plan on really being a nomad hitting places like Quartsite, Slab, Ehrenburg, RTR, etc. I wish I had been making videos the past couple years and sharing the mods Ive made, to help others, as they have helped me. Didn't happen but soon I will start producing and sharing my story as well. Feel so close to you, Bob and others. Sympatico! Ive been looking forward to meeting and hanging out with both you and Bob...for a time. Short time because I too, like my solitude ;-) Im concerned you're becoming such a star that time is running out!
No, seriously, I've dreamed that one day the three of us will meet and we're such kindred spirits in so many ways, I know it will be a real pleasure.

I know the video because it caught my attention when I recognized the surroundings where you were located. It is one of several spots I set up camp. BUT, I'll not return there. Something I wanted to share with you. Yes, it's BLM and yes, theoretically you can legally stay there 13-28 days. However, I learned after a few days that there is an element in the vicinity that does not approve of 'us' occupying the area. It is the only time / location where I have experienced a problem boondocking. I returned to camp one evening around 9 or 10pm to find someone had vandalized my camp and left a note telling me to "get out". In the morning another nomad, a young solo woman, who I met a couple days earlier when she parked her trailer about a hundred feet away, told me she too had been vandalized (greater damage) and likewise was left with a nasty, threatening note to get the hell out.
I hated being intimidated but was not comfortable leaving my trailer unattended. I left and so did she a day later.
On the other hand I spend moths in the into national forest only a few miles away. No problems, much more beautiful locations in the trees, along creeks, secluded and unpopulated.. I prefer the forest. The only reason I located out of the trees there on the high desert was to escape the pending snow up higher in the forest.
Anyhow, just a word of caution and more than happy to share with you some of the really great, private, safe areas to stay. I too, don't make my locations public.
That was the beginning of following your vids/story and in hindsight was bummed to learn how close you were and missed meeting up. Next time ;-)
Meanwhile so HAPPY to hear you're going to make producing videos a priority. I was depressed listening to you question being a nomad, considering returning to a life of routine, and dropping out of RUclips. Really, I was saddened. And it made me start questioning my own commitment to this lifestyle. I love this! My only regret, like so many people that bob has interviewed, is not having begun this journey sooner!
Don't quit! We're all like an extended family who in most cases have never met but feel closer than real family and are saddened at the prospect of losing one another.
First time I heard Randy Vining speak on 'Without Bounds' I couldn't believe how identical our thoughts are. Then Bob, Pippi, you and so many others, it's like WOW, these are all my kindred souls. 😍

Then I dig deep for the courage and wisdom to understand the nature of making changes.
