- A passion for music is what started it all for Chris Perez. The San Antonio native has played guitar for several bands throughout the years. Now, the talented musician is fronting his own band called the Chris Perez Project. The band is performing a special show in Houston on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Warehouse Live.

Chris is quite a motivation. He's persevered through pain and loss. He could have crawled under a rock & withered away after Selena passed on. But he didn't. He worked through his pain and on a day to day, year to year, he's proceeded with his art/music, his family and his dedication to his deceased wife. To know that he has children and that he is/was able to love again was so good to hear. For all those struggling, a Mental Health moment. You're not alone, and there is so much more life to live. Do it, Live, and let people like Chris Perez be an example.

@@aleeciahilliard6918 Chris gave his rights when she first died. Selena father is a bit of a control freak, but all in his effort to protect his daughter's postmortem reputation. As for Chris, he doesn't seem to be confrontational by any means. He simply allowed (with no argument) her family remain in control. I don't believe he foresaw this would permanently mute him.
I find it sadder that Selenas family set him aside this way, even when knowing how important he was to her. They only pull him in for A list events, and he complies. He does these events for her / for them as a living couple, nothing more.
This is why I see his example of grieving and surviving to be so awesome.

He's so laid back. He lost an icon legend but also his wife so much respect for him being able to continue living life to the fullest.

Yeah but I think eventually Chris was going to come into his own. I mean you can't stay shy forever if you're going to be in that industry but yeah SELENA did help start it. Too bad he lost her...we lost her. 💝

@@sonyvalencia Of course not. No one's saying he is. But he started out as that shy guy. He even admits it. SELENA taught Chris a few things and he did her as well. What I love about their relationship was that they worked as a team. They would back each other up especially when it came to the tyrant father. I respect Mr Q but he gives Chris a hard time, suing him, kicking Chris out of SELENA'S festival. So sad. I pray they make amends bc as we all know life is short and it holds no guarantees in it.

he’s so nice. i went to corpus and the server at applebees got to meet her family and him and just said that he’s just the nicest guy you’d ever meet!!! my heart goes out to him even after 25 years of selena’s passing bc i couldn’t imagine losing the love of my life, esp in a tragic way
I think his new found live in the music is well deserved. I think the family forgot that he was the husband of Selena and the amazing love she had for Chris.
I never hear that from the family but I hope his music continues the legacy of his past life and love for Selena his amazing. I'm sure that his loss for her was hard on him.
