Archtops are like magic to me . When i was younger and read how Good Archtops produces its volume before amps and PAs Mr Loar was tasked with making the Guitars compeat to be heard in big band settings. He made Mr Gibson a name to be associated with Archtops.
Linda is one of the highest deities in the pantheon of legendary luthiers. She's a brilliant, shining star in the firmament. Her instruments are entering the annals of Legend, and she will be remembered with love, fascination, and deep appreciation, for centuries! And she's got a LOT left to give us. I cannot say enough good things about this remarkable, stellar, amazing person. She's one of the primary heroes of my life.
Linda is making me this model now but a 7-string. I am beyond excited and will cherish and play it for the rest of my life and ensure it is in good hands when I'm done.
How I wish I could be a luthier. To make works of art after you have surpassed apprenticeship. I love to hear her talk about her work.I find it really interesting. Her guitars are just magnificent.I have hear her guitars by way of listening to Pat Metheny in concert, there magical.
Oh, Linda - you are the absolute master. I think that is the most beautiful guitar that I have ever seen. I know I can't afford it, but I would be first in line to try anyway. What artistry!!!
Great interview. What I found very interesting is the making the height of the top arch lower to increase the volume and sustain. Would never have known that. I have only made 4 archtops and would never have figured it out. Brilliant
I like it - but never will be able to afford it. Artist in Europe are not well paid, and so our luthieres also not well paid. Only dentits could afford it ; )

1" is really too high for anything less than 18" wide. 7/8" is better. And not too much recurve.
