They are pictographs not petroglyphs. Pictographs are painted usually with pigments petroglyphs are scratch, incised or carved. Many of your comments are incorrect. You need to research the history of this area.
@@Ifeltawow, did someone hurt your feelings?? When you trying to influence other people, you should at least inform about the facts and evidences, if you have your own opinion on something, you are free to state that...... but it's wrong to do like FOX news and brainwashed people.....😊

It means " WATER" when in multiples and traveling i.e. thru the void, possibly as singular. ( Earth's journey thru it ) as I decipher. Everyone may have a different opinion, turtle represents USA, called Turtle Island by most Natives.
Come on people. Give them a break. It's wonderful to share information about what we know. But remember, we were there once too. I see a couple wanting to learn about the ancient ones and are intrigued by what they learn and see. Maybe they will discover an invaluable secret or knowledge. This couple has some grit and that's honorable. They are at least out and about seeking first-hand knowledge. More than I can say for a lot of people. We may be an era of modern television, computers and high tech, but think what the pictographs/petroglyphs were back in the ancient ones day.
The wonder and history of ancient places like these sites. Makes me wish I could have a Time Machine and see how they lived. You guys just added another site I must see.
You guys are having way too much fun ! Beautiful area. :O) @23:49 there is a map/layout of an area at the top glyph. I wonder if a drone could find a matching layout in the area ? You would have to really study the image to understand the layout. :O)
somewhat painful to watch. If you are *really* interested in what these petroglyphs mean, start by looking for Anthony Peratt presentations on youtube. Next, many many hours researching petroglyphs, pictographs, geoglyphs, ancient architectures, artifacts, etc through the millennia. You'll then see the similarities in symbolism through time. There is a lot more to it, but that's enought to get you started and if you spent the time, I'm sure you'd be interested to learn more.
#1 did you ask permission to enter area first ? Little did these ancestors know how long it would take this civilization to get to this point in time. Amazing how they got it correct way back then. Their journey in " space travels " was amazing.
its shilajit that or flowstone not bat guano , and the tallies she sees are where they sharpened the points of spears or arrows , you too rock it takes years to begin to understand the glyphs , good job so far . better than most , dont regurgitate qwackademia tell us what you think and see , not what youve heard
Love it. I live here in Sedona and am an amateur archaeologist. Sinagua being my specialty. Love all these sites. Pictographs in that side canyon are Sinagua!
There were horses on the North and South American continents 10, 000 years ago . Quite similar to the modern horse , but about the size of the zebra, or Mongolian horse. They probably became extinct because of a change in the climate and hunting.
nice vid! The marks at 16:30 are most likely done to take a bit of material from the panel to keep some with you because that panel is magic. Tribes in the southwest still do this to this day, The colors are not what you are seeing they are faded over time. The "snakes " if you count them 8-12 points are notes on how long they were in the area. 8-12 growing season before the soil was depleted and they move on. I thought I saw long crosshatching which usually represent a fence for trapping game or keeping livestock. So interesting that what the local tribes know- The Hopi have demonstrated that they know information from site(s) a 1,000 years old, and when they were presented on inventory of items, they let the researchers know that well if this is there, so should this item. time and time again. #FlatCircleofTime

Hi y’all! Love your latest vids, well done! Enjoyed the thoughtful commentary on the rock art, it’s such a awesome experience coming across the evidence of the ancients. 👍
Have you any knowledge of a tribe or group of Indians moving west from Pennsylvania in the early 1700? I had an Indian teacher while in grade school that told the class about them, they were called something like Heckarway or Helarwey. I'm 81 so I'm not sure but they traveled west for about 2 or three years looking for a place to make home. After all that walking all those years the chief, the medicine man, and two of the tribe were scouting far ahead of the others, they came to the top of a very high hill. The chief stood on the biggest rock he could find, placed his right hand over his eyes, surveying out as far as he could see. Slowly he spoke to the others saying, where the heck are we? As I understood the story that's how they got their name.
@@TubeLVT I heard the story in the late 1960's from a vinyl hanger from Los Vegas. He told it with a different name for the tribe with language I won't use. I hope it's still funny without using that wording. Thanks for the reply.
Check out the green masks on the Cedar Mesa. The guy taking swipes at the old tree stoped because he was hit by lightning 🌩 just before a giant rock 🪨 smashed him.

Yes, sooo cool!
