    Over my 40 years of playing i went from.9s to .11s and now 9.5s are the best. Broke my wrist of my fretting hand a few months ago. Couldn’t even play a chord for months. Gotta work on stamina but I’m mostly back. Peace

    Completely agree with you on the whole strings thing. One of my favorite guitar players is Yngwie and he uses pretty light strings and his tone on the rising force album from 1984 sounds massive. One of my favorite tones ever recorded I think he was using marshals as well.

    This was awesome. I was wondering if electric guitarists would have to have some type of knowledge about electronics, if they are modifying or fixing their own guitars. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🎸

    Hey Ramon, been watching your channel for years now. We have a lot of the same influences when it comes to electric guitar. Peter Green, Ry Cooder, Rory, SRV, and Django. In fact you’re the one that introduced me to Ry Cooder with the Mambo Sinuendo album. Am achy album btw. I can hear all the Peter green influence in your playing. I can’t wait for you’re British blues album.

    Plectrum thickness is equally important regarding tone-maybe even more so than the string gauge.

    And if you really want to nerd out, locate a set of Clapton knobs for your project amp.

  • @tonebender69

    One vital detail if your going to replicate that sound? You mentioned radiospares. Radiospares transformers where used in the earlier JTM45's. They are described as sounding closer to actual Fender amps when using those. But the transformers in Clapton's amp were Drakes. Which in turn sound more aggressive and therefore more Marshally. There is a guy who makes an exact replica I think they are called Marstran. Heyboer is another great company doing good replicas of vintage paper leavened transformers. And the output transformer being critical for the sound.

    • @TheGuitarShow
      @TheGuitarShow  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks for the comment - actually we are both right - his JTM45 amp in the Bluesbreakers used a Radio spares combo output and mains trannies, however in Cream (for fresh cream recording) he used upadated trasnformers that could handle more power in the JTM45/100 amp (as used be Hendrix as well). those JTM45/100 did firstly use a 100 watt rated Radio Spares Mains transformer (but not output transformers as the prototype amps kept blowing up).

    • @tonebender69
      @tonebender69 Месяц назад

      @@TheGuitarShow Yes of course the JTM 45/100 was another amp and the one used on Fresh Cream. But as for the Blues breakers amp? I heard different. I know he had the one that was left behind in Greece. Then he got a new one for the Blues breakers album recording. I heard that those had Drakes. Anyway you just can't beat that aggressive blues sound of a Marshall. Definitely a big part of the sound with a nice 58-59 Les Paul. Good Luck with the build. I'm sure that it will turn out great!

    I will do what Tory Slusher does. The best guitarist in the world. Guitars, strings, and amps don’t matter. It’s your fingers. She can make a 99 dollar guitar sound magical.

    Hey Ramon. Why do you think guitarists such as Jeff Beck, Paul Kossoff, and even Eric Clapton switched from Les Pauls to Stratocasters at some point. Although I prefer all of their tones with the Les paul better. Could it be because of the Stratocasters versatility or comfort?
