The S2 Continental is simply the most perfectly proportioned car ever made. Utterly elegant. They did a 2 door version too - Mulliner made only 71 of them.
+Ag Photographic One of those 71, in BRG, was owned along the road from us in the 70s', and 80s' up in the NE of England. I tried to persuade my father to buy it but he was happy with his Silver Shadow, new, back in the 70s'. The mulliner 2 door evidently needed a lot of work doing to it and went eventually to a London dealer. The proportions of the 2 door are perfect. The Mulliner, in this video has been superbly restored and hopefully I might see it sometime as I live near to Bad Tölz in Bavaria.
They used aluminum post-war because steel was in short supply, not for any performance benefits. That hardwood is a veneer over cheaper softwood, it is not “hewn” as the know-nothing narrator says. I swear he is just making it up as he goes along.
That so? this car is a cuple of hundred KG less weight and a stronger engine Painted part of the car weights 300kg compare that with the standard steel body and try to figure wat this did tp acceleration and roadholding I will not tell You how fast 0-100 km/h was You wold not believe it and R-R did not want it to be spread out fore some strange reason I am grown up in a car like that one a 2 door saloon

I wouldn’t leave it on that golf course for too long. Aluminium dents rather well !
Thank you very much!
Truly great car.
I assume that they suffered the same crankshaft failures that other S2's did. Too bad. That particular problem was eventually corrected.
was it a powerful car to drive
A 4 dr continental is a flying spur
Same age as my wife.
