- Change Starts Now has unveiled the party's plans to tax the rich to overcome SA's problems. Party's leader Roger Jardine says they propose a 1.5% tax on wealth of individuals with over R40 million in assets and a 4% increase in corporate tax.

The latest iteration of divide-and-rule funded by big business. He addresses symptoms but not root causes. The bottom line is that meaningful improvement is not possible inside the existing multi-party political framework and it must be changed to a Direct Elections model where we vote in constituencies for individuals as parliamentarians and can recall them. This enforces accountability & loyalty to voters not parties and eliminates cadres, agendas, party funder influences and corruption in general.
