That Titan and the crew do these to entice people to enter the trade as well as have the University is a testament to a belief in the future. Keep it up, gentlemen. And it was great to see Donnie's mom as well.

Along with the tornos we have a few machines called an “index” im not entirely sure what the proper name for it is, I’ve only heard about it. • @ronblack7870
      @ronblack7870 Год назад +1

      they are actually simple. there are many chip spinners that have centrifuges as well. i got one that was part of a system in this building i moved into. it's a bowl like for a bundt cake that spins. the sides of the bowl come back in at the top. oil flows in to the middle from above drops to the bowl bottom and flings out to the sides. as the bowl gets more oil in it the oil climbs up the sides and eventually goes past the rim and flings out. the chips stay in the bowl. at certain times the bowl need to be cleaned out of chips. it gets the oil down to about 5 microns.

Also, does it use the same oil for cutting as it does for lubricating the machine, or is there a separate tank for the machine's internal needs?

    Question about that touchscreen... How practical is it in real-life conditions? Because, my hands at the end of an 8-hour shift are dirty so much, that it's impossible to wash them completely. And, as I'm 3in1 - programmer, setter, operator - i'm interacting with controls far beyond the green button, pushing all the existing keys with my dirty, oily hands. Scary to imagine, how the touchscreen would look like at the end of the day.

    • @donniehinske
      @donniehinske Год назад

      Thats a solid question. In my opinion you wont have an issue with the touchscreen getting too dirty it is really robust and nothing like oil will stick to it. As long as you wipe it down daily you'd be fine. HOWEVER I recommend hooking a keyboard up immediately because it is a lot slower to type on.

PROGRAMMING CONSISTED OF MAKING PROFILE CAMS FROM CYLINDRICAL METAL TO MAKE THE DESIRED SHAPE FOR THE PART. THE NUMBER OF CAMS WAS DETERMINED BY HOW MANY TOOLS WERE NEEDED. IT COULD TAKE SEVERAL DAYS JUST TO MAKE THE CAMS. NOT COUNTING TIME TO MAKE SMALL CHANGES TO THE CAMS.

    Damn such a modern machine paired with an HMI from the 90s really puts undercuts the usability of a tool like this. And I understand if for professionals but seriously? You can’t hire some us designers and create a good looking interface? Like look at the DMGs or Haas machines, easy to use interfaces does not make the machine worse. If you want that bare fanuc interface have an advanced setting that allows for direct setting. Idk I’m not a machinist but I operate high end manufacturing equipment and the ones with better HMIs do really make getting better quality easier.

      As a newbie that user interface is really freaking me out. It reminds of the DOS operating system. Or Clipper.
      Such an expensive machine with such a bad user interface; I don't get it.
