      Drop A Octave Down is correct. Double Drop A would be AEADGa (both low and high B dropped to A).

      @@ParanormalArson I've heard both when referring to this low of a tuning but the original meaning of double drop is definitely what you mentioned here

      Check out Admiral Angry! They had 7 string guitars made out of 5 string basses in 2009 tuned to ADADGEE

      @@BrendonKPadjasek using it as a guitar. i think people just dont use the correct gauges cause they are scared of losing brightness or something. According to string tension calculator .114 at c# 29" is only about 25 pounds, so kinda average tension tbh😅
      I got a 27" seven string in drop F where i use a
      .105 and ive seen other people use like 70, thats insane to me. Idk how you can even get a pitch that doesnt go sharp as fuck when you tune with that

      @dinonuggies2276 haha yeah I believe tension is meant to be around 20 right? I just go with what feels best. I’ve worked with bands that prefer that slingy sound of loose top strings but i prefer a tighter sound. I’ll definitely try a .110 but the .100 has been working well for me without having insane drops in pitch after that initial transient

    Man you've sold me on one of these! I've been a long time Ibanez 7 and 8 string player but recently picked up a few cheap squires just to have as beater guitars and I was surprised at how much the quality has gone up since I first started out. Played a Bass VI just like yours at a local shop and if they still have it after I get my next paycheck it's mine!

      @@DjoshuaCMorris so glad to hear that. I also was shocked at the quality of this instrument and how great it is with very minor tweaks out of the box. I definitely love my 7 and 8 string guitars, but I have barely touched them since owning this instrument

      @brunofaustino.guitars it’s kind of its own thing. A baritone is typically 27” and only dropped 5 semitones, where the bass vi is 30” and dropped a whole octave. Some people do put lighter strings on and treat it like a baritone though

    wanted more of the double drop g one you did, but this is acceptable LOL.
    fucking sick Brendon, most people can't write anything intelligible at tunings this low, myself included.
    almost seems like the solution is to ignore how absurdly low the tuning actually is 70% of the time lol.

      @@BrendonKPadjasek I think the divider is more about the vocals. you can't really call it metalcore if it's all unclean for example. that's why I call old parkway meathcore. I don't see a problem with metalcore having mostly unclean vocals but then you're approaching death metal territory and especially for new people getting into the genre it helps to have a version with half cleans half screams

      Oh absolutely. Structures first show (as a local band) was opening for stray from the path and Danza back on Danza 2. We were hugely into them after that night.

      Well I’m on a bass VI so it starts in E1 and then obviously it wasn’t low enough for my liking hahaha so I just kept going as low as I could with the string gauge and A0 seemed to fit the best.

    A great track you recorded, definitely. It sounds perfect. Really awesome composition.
    I have this guitar tuned to drop g and I don't know if I won't change that to a, because that last string is a bit loose and generates a lot of graininess, even when I use soothe2. I have the same set of strings as you. Unless you have a patent for this:)
    What kind of overdrive are you using? Still the stock one from ableton? I'm planning to test it on roar as it's a multiband, something like saturn2.
    Keep up the good work mate, record a lot 4 us.

      I typically use the stl will Putney tonality for the gain pedal and then into the Otto ii ii. I also found that drop g was too low for this set of strings. Likely would need a .110 for that at least

      @@BrendonKPadjasek Exactly, even the luthier when he made me the setup from your video told me that this thickest string would be too thin from this set dedicated to the bass vi and that I should give from the bass, but I tried to play something on it. I was even advised against it. I will change that tuning.

      Hahaha thank you. For the amp tones I’m using the Otto Audio II II II II and for the lead guitars I’m using the same II II II II and a pitch shifter pedal just to get an octave up. Effects are just the normal delay and reverb.

      Surprisingly by the end of the song it wasn’t bad. I don’t find the bridge to be bad on these. But I’m also playing to the recorded track so keep that in mind. I can definitely hear it against my performance when but mostly on some of the bends being inconsistent how i bent them

      @@BrendonKPadjasekseems like maybe youve sort of adjusted the way you play around the guitar. Maybe you you dont slam the strings as hard in certain places cause you know it will knock it out of tune. The guitarist in my old band used to slam the strings really hard and only certain guitars could handle it. He would absolutly destroy guitars. Also the oil from his hands would eat through the electronics i let him use my guitar for only a couple shows and i had to replace all the electronics on it

      @Durkhead hahaha that is intense man. I know a few guys with really sweaty hands that the same thing has happened. I definitely adjust the way I play for each part. Not sure if you can notice but I change the way my picking hand is for just about every part depending on the speed and what kind of riff it is

    You're an inspiration man. I have my Bass VI tuned to drop D, are you just using the Fender Bass VI strings for drop A? I don't like spaghetti strings so drop D with 100 gauge is perfect.

      @@BrendonKPadjasek I'm using that set too and I just couldn't stand it tuned any lower than C#, I've always liked crazy tension on the strings for some reason and my playing style developed that way. Really tough to play cleanly even with really light picks 😄
