Few notes for you: Wizard: I'm with you. People love it. I never have. Lunar 4S (the floppy Magic plastic): lunar plastic feels velvety to the touch. Most recent runs have been in a very soft flex (4s), but you can also find it in 2s (which is plenty stiff) if you want the velvety feel but more rigidity. I personally use Lunar Warlocks. Devil Hawk: fantastic disc. Yes, Berg OS is pretty much correct. Fun fact is that the DH has a massive range of stability as it beats in. I have one that now doesn't flip but also doesn't fade and goes just shy of 300ft on a rope. I highly encourage you to bag one long enough to see it change flights. Wonderful disc. Element: you are spot on. Great neutral mid. Prophecy: weird shape, but great disc. Can handle torque for forehands. Beats way in if you use base plastic. It's a better Roc3. Spear: meh. It's a straight, fastish fairway. Most companies have one at this point, and many are better than this one. Blade: can vary pretty severely on stability depending on plastic / run. Ones like the one you have are really useful for standstill forehands. But yeah, it's an OS fast fairway. A solid one, but there are many others. Journey, Illusion, Spirit: yep, they're drivers. I'd call each 'merely okay.' I feel like there are many better discs from other companies for each of those slots. Other Gateway notes: the Chief and Shaman are crazy shallow discs. It's very noticeable. Try just feeling them the next time you go through a shop. The "Pure White" plastic from Gateway is board stiff. Like pushing the boundaries of what the PDGA will approve. If you like stiff plastic, put your hands on some in a shop. Lastly, there is a Chief OS that many people like for that Jokeri slot. Overstable approach putter, but not glideless like the Devil Hawk and not as meathook as a Zone-style discs. Always enjoy the videos. Keep it up. And I hope you keep the Devil Hawk around permanently. It's a favorite.
Dude, the couple times you did throw the journey it flipped a little as a -2 should. while I had one in my bag I couldn’t get it to flip at all. Props.
I bag several Gateway discs - Element, Wizards, and the Assassin. I can putt with Wizards but mainly use them for short range drives and approaches. I've always called the Wizard a "Daviar" and have carried them as long as Gateway has been in existence. I just ordered a new Discology OG bag and used your discount code - so thanks for that. Enjoy your vids - keep up the good work and good luck with your quest to make the Pro tour.
I bag all gateway. It’s cool to see someone else use them. Journey bombs one of the only discs I’ve cleared 450 with on a golf line. I use it for massive turnovers. Devil Hawk is a more overstable berg to me as well. I just changed my form as well and I can imagine that is why some of these are flying short for ya.
I relate to you alot because I tend to beat myself up about getting better. That being said, remember the most important part of Disc Golf is enjoying yourself.
I was a wizard putter for awhile..I've recently switched to a Chief. Personally believe chief is the best off the tee and putting putter I've ever held. Just a personal opinion. I bag a lot of gateway because they're local and the guys are so nice and cool when you go in the shop. Favorite molds would be: Diablo, Sabre, Prophecy, chief. They do need some work on their driver lineup. But keep your eyes open for 2023 peeps 👀
Devil Hawk is such a great disc! It's like a slightly slower Razor Claw but much more affordable and comes in more plastics. Feels like a 'reverse Innova Pig', with a wider thumbtrack but more shallow rim. It's like the Pig & Berg had a baby & made the top of the disc, and Harp & Razor Claw had a baby and made the bottom of the disc. SO fun! For me, Jokeri & Devil Hawk are a pretty perfect OS approach disc combo.
Awesome to see the Gateway love! I recently switched from the Wizard (same pulling right problem on putts) to the Chief 3 3 0 1, and it has helped me perform so much better. It is much thinner than the wizard. You probably have your putters set, but if you ever get a chance to try one, some guy on the internet recommends it! Also the Chief OS 3 3 0 2 is a nice compliment and driving putter. Cheers, and thanks for the all the videos of your journey, been fun to watch!
I totally relate. I used to throw much more accurately but the form was terrible. Been slowly changing over last year and form looks way better but barely any more distance and less accurate... but I am still pushing forward with drills and field work like you. We got this!!!
Blade and Journey are probably my most used drivers. Wizards are a little deep for my hand but over time I feel I’ve adjusted to them pretty well. They come in so many plastics!!!
A bit late but if you pick up any more Gateway putters make sure you try out an Eraser and/or “$$$”money blend plastic!! The Hemp and PWP is very nice as well. Love the Element and Prophecy. Great video and don’t be so hard on yourself!! 🤘
I am no expert but I changed my form as well after watching a bunch of form videos. One thing I learned is that anny/hyzer is in the way you lean your body not how you adjust your arm. So try leaning back to get some anny on your throws. It is more consistent then adjusting your arm.
I'm sure you are aware but your new issue with the new form is WAY nose up. That's causing your disc to go straight up in the air. Get that nose angle and aim point down and I think you'll see some great results.
The illusion is the best. They don't make many discs in Platinum anymore but I find that a crying shame because I can think of several molds I'd love to have in it. Bummer about the journey but there are other discs like it so its not the biggest loss. I would highly suggest the Diablo (thunderbird numbers) and id also love to know the weights of the discs you're chucking as I've found weight is a big factor for whether a disc flies "true to its numbers". cheers brother, much love
I just can't get over playing in the Florida humidity lol. If you ever make it to NY you should try playing FDR Park in Yorktown heights or Warwick NY park. Warwick NY park is great designed by Steve Brinster but next door is another course called the OASIS owned privately but open publicly by owner Dan Doyle and also co-designed with Steve Brinster. Both are great pros and local legends. It's a great day out!
Love the videos and this series! Do you throw many DGA discs or have any experience with them? A couple of them I really love and I don't see them show up often.
Hey Anthony, I got that Blade from your mystery box (along with a sick Ohn Scoggins Halo Tern) and I'm hoping it slots between my Volt and Omen, but we'll see.
Hi Anthony! You probably aren’t reading this but your reach back is too low! That’s why you’re throwing so nose up. I have the same problem, and after some professional coaching, I was able to figure this out. Hopefully this can help you with your distance and general game. I love your content!
He is seeing this in the last video with the test of max distance during formchange, that the fieldwork is not perfect with only a net. Small changes will make distance control a real thing. Throwing this way have uses! Just came from the recent hyzer-video with Bearhart on the Discraft channel. Ofc my own form is crap xD
You don't suck at putting! Gotta try to stop talking trash about yourself, I do the same thing about myself. It's definitely hard to not be hard on yourself when we know we can do so much better. Btw are you playing in any tournaments here in Florida soon?
You are going to have to combined your new form with your natural form. You didn’t drop your back arm before which is a good thing. The Pros still come straight across when throwing hyzer. They adjust waist and nose angle. Your throwing shorter because you are releasing nose up. Some of the “instructors”on YT are only going to help a beginner. You have natural potential. Don’t ignore it.
You’re not hitting the power pocket . The disc is too far from your body on the pull thru and you’re not getting that 90 degree angle on your arm that’s needed to hit that pocket .
I'd personally prefer if the whole "challenge" aspect of these videos went away. As they are, they're kind of a hybrid between challenging yourself and reviewing new discs. As with most hybrid things, they end up not doing either well. It's not fair to challenge your performance with unfamiliar gear, and it's also not a fair assessment of the discs when you're distracted by your score. For instance, when you hit the tree on hole 10, that ruined the hole score, but it had nothing to do with the disc. I'd rather see you just re-tee instead of pretending you're playing a real round. Or instead of trying to decide which disc to use, just use both and see how they do. It would be more useful as far as understanding the discs. I'm sure other people like the way you're doing these, which is fine. Just sharing my experience.
Anthony I don’t wanna be a negative guy but from my personal experience when they say you have to get worse to get better and you’re talking about distance I find that you gain more distance in your form but the thing that makes you worse is your accuracy goes down temporarily. I might be different though maybe

I love this series already man, I like the new 3 levels of giveaway "punishments"! As always, the content keeps getting better and better.

Might be worth keeping putting separate or using your Pures. The AGL video, too, you lost a lot of strokes on the putting green.
I Played this course when I was in vacation on Florida this summer!
Made these two videos so much better to watch!
Blade and Journey are probably my most used drivers. Wizards are a little deep for my hand but over time I feel I’ve adjusted to them pretty well. They come in so many plastics!!!

WESTSIDE VIP ICE BEAR 🐻 eeeeeetz callin your nameeee :)
I absolutely love that disc and would highly recommend it as a beginner’s first overstable “distance driver”.
Would love a follow-up. Also try the Magic in the SS plastic. Way firmer and good grip.
The illusion is the best. They don't make many discs in Platinum anymore but I find that a crying shame because I can think of several molds I'd love to have in it. Devilhawk is a great utility/short roller for woods and abstructions.
Hey Anthony, I got that Blade from your mystery box (along with a sick Ohn Scoggins Halo Tern) and I'm hoping it slots between my Volt and Omen, but we'll see.
I’d love to see a full video with the devil hawk
Power Level: It's over 9000!
Nice vid. You are crushing the content lately. Also eagerly awaiting that RPM Tui vid!
RPM Series scheduled for the 16th of this month
@@BodanzaDiscGolf Awesome!
It's funny because the voodoo is the best putter out of the lineup!
More coffee shop Anthony
I feel like the wizard shines for spin putting.
❤ getting (2) videos, heck maybe (3) today since you had the battle vid earlier today 👍😃
i have a hemp element that beat in sooooo quick. had to pickup a diamond element

Wait but doesn’t high reachback cause nose up too?
@@calebdyer6332it can, but for me, a more mid chest level reachback has given me much better results fighting against the nose up angle.
I bag a spear and I love it for easy pop up hyzer flips where I don't have to power up on it....easy flip up

Distance > form? Or form > distance?
I think your power levels are over 9000
Dude I lost my quake on the same hole. Nice video though!
Can't wait to put on my waders and get that disc hahaha
Wild Discs next?? 👀
I am thinking you should use a different putting style...just a thought
You don't suck at putting! Gotta try to stop talking trash about yourself, I do the same thing about myself. It's definitely hard to not be hard on yourself when we know we can do so much better. Btw are you playing in any tournaments here in Florida soon?
You make one with only Wild Discs
Love the vids if you come to Ohio and are near me id love for you to come play my local courses

are you putting gateway discs to the test or putting gateway discs to the test? haha
haha exactly

You are throwing incredibly nose up. Have you talked to josh about this? Do you supinate or pour the coffee?
Early gang
Stop straddle putting
