Oh my goodness, honey. I just want to hug you! Don’t ever feel bad about being upset over this. It’s scary and sad, but I know your little bundle will be loved and will get the best care. You’re an amazing, sweet mum and your honesty is so humbling. Sending tons of love and hugs, Chloe. All my love - your “Mom from Massachusetts”; Michelle R ❤❤
Chloe, sending huge hugs. My advice would be to reach out to families who have gone through it. My work colleague had a little boy with a cleft lip and pallet and he is now nearly 5, he’s awesome. He had surgery as a baby and occasionally uses a hearing aid, she was really impressed with the speech and language availability if he should ever need it (he is actually an advanced talker). She also found the lack of breastfeeding hard - she had fed her first like you. But she formula fed in the end with specialist bottles. It is ok to grieve what you thought was going to happen.
Chloé, I am so sorry for everything that you are going through. I can’t imagine a doctor saying the things that you got said to you. Thank goodness you got the call from the midwife and the good care afterwards. You are right that you need time to grieve for the experience you aren’t getting and it is normal to have all the worries that you have for your baby. Try to keep your focus on the “now” as much as you can. Easier said than done, I know. The worries don’t stop even when your “children” are closer to 30 than 20! I also understand your wanting to keep your children’s privacy as much as possible. I think you have been very generous in sharing your life, both joys and sorrows, with us all. Keeping you and your family in my prayers, Jeannine
Sending big hugs. I really hope now you’ve made this video, you can focus on all the happy pregnancy things. You’re an incredible Mum, and baby boy will receive the best care from both you and medical professionals.
Your little man is so lucky to have you both as his parents. He will be so very loved, and I'm sure his cleft will be a thing of the past and he will have a normal life ❤ Sending you all the love ❤️ it's never easy when your smallie has something going on ❤
Been following along with little man’s pregnancy just like I did with D’s and like I said, although he will be born physically different, he will be loved nonetheless. You are a fantastic mum. Sending love xx
Chloe 😢 I hope talking about it to us helped a little. I can’t imagine what it must be like just…waiting…with all your worries. I’m looking forward to you doing up their room and I hope that brings you some joy. Sending all my love to you today xxx
