You were right Kelly, there are 7 stages of grief. Shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance. Love the podcast ladies, you're doing a great job!
One thing that people forget about Taylor besides that she’s very smart and very witty is a lot of her songs are sarcastic. Not the whole song, but there’s different lyrics in some of her songs that she’s literally being sarcastic. New Romanic is one of those when she says it’s so romantic being stranded and there’s so many lines in her songs that have a different meaning than what people think. She’s so good with word play. There’s no one better.
Cornelia Street makes total sense to me in bargaining/negotiating stage- they seemed to be negotiating what their relationship was...are we friends with benefits, situationship, bf/gf... "Back when we were card sharks, playing games I thought you were leading me on I packed my bags, left Cornelia St... Bet then you called, showed your hand I turned around before I hit the tunnel"
I definitely wouldn’t argue that Morgan Wallen is a good guy, but as a country music fan, he does have amazing music. And just an FYI there are plenty of Taylor fans who are also fans of his music. He definitely makes me feel very conflicted for liking it though 😅
here's my opinion on the playlists: taylor saw our whole theory about the 5 stages of grief and thought it would be a cool idea to organize her relationship songs into each of those playlists. i don't think this whole thing has to be about Joe. that's why there are songs from fearless to 1989. that's why even soon you'll get better is on a playlist. with each song she had to think about what feeling that song conveys. with the song lover, it has always been a fav for taylor from that album. she always wanted it to be a song that would be played at weddings. she has always talked about how the bridge sounds like wedding vows. i think now taylor looks back at that song and is like "wow i cannot believe i thought he was my forever person" and if the whole cheating thing is true then i think taylor also looks back at the lyrics "i'm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you" and thinks "that's a red flag. how did i think that was ok?" there still are happy joe songs on that album. the same goes with folklore & evermore. i am still very torn on wether or not those albums are fictional or not. taylor has always said even during midnights promo that those albums aren't autobiographical. i mean a big source of sadness and anger that taylor was feeling during that time was the loss of her albums and the betrayal she felt from scott. she even said that "tolerate it" is based on a book. i've never thought that song was about joe anyway. i mean she says "you're so much older and wiser." she's older than joe so... i don't think things truly went bad for them until mid 2021. i do think they broke up and got back together in 2022. lastly, the reason there aren't any rep or debut songs on these playlists is because she doesn't own those albums yet.
I completely agree with you. I feel like even though Evermore and folklore weren't autobiographical she's only human... The inspiration could be something else however there are in fact clear influences of her mental state and her feeling cornered in her relationship. The playlists are definitely interesting and I agree with you that, the playlists are in fact her perspective of things and reevaluating memories and feelings associated with writing these songs, hence the placement.
I don’t want to hurt your feelings but when you twirl your hair and play with it, it’s annoying and distracting. I don’t think you even realize you do it. On a more positive note, I didn’t know that Caitlin Clark was a Swifie! That is so cool!

These playlists are such a good idea. This album may be her most personal.

Appreciate your comments on encouraging women to not hate on other women when they are successful!
Lover is an album where she felt the need to write Love songs, not wanting to.
David Draiman of Disturbed... Best response ever.
I must be oblivious. I didn’t notice the hair twirling. Twirl away.
Lets get into it.
Morgan Wallen - victim of the Tayvoodoo
Folklore/Evermore turned out to be not so fictional

Female wives and girlfriends who support their husbands and boyfriends are just as guilty when they make fun of Taylor
Joe co wrote Sweet Nothings with Taylor! 📿
Morgan wallens comment was in Indianapolis. As someone who lives here I'm ashamed of everyone lol
Just a reminder- there are conservative swifties out there 😁 there are conservatives that thing Morgan’s behavior sucks too ☺️
She started dating Travis in A
Morgan Wallen has been given too many chances. The dude needs to go to jail.
