Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Things have changed as we had to gather to a designated location to watch the safety procedures with a LIVE person. Seeing it on that screen is much more convenient! Lol

I'm so used to massive Royal Caribbean ships that are buzzing with life and stuff to do. This doesn't look like it's gonna keep me entertained as much as i hoped. I have very short attention span and get bored very quickly, so hopefully it'll go alright. The indian restaurant does look great though and so do the drinks
I think it's definitely got a calmer vibe than Royal. There's plenty to do, but it's more low key. We didn't get bored once and even wished we'd had another sea day! If you're off on Iona have a brilliant cruise. Cheers 🍻

Is there much of an expected tipping culture? Only sailed with Marella where it’s not required
Hi, good question. There didn’t seem to be any mention of tipping on here, probably because it’s a British ship. From reading various forums, it’s common to leave a tip for your room steward. We had 15 euros spare so left that with a thank you note, but I don’t think it’s compulsory. Cheers
hello, how do they check the insurance policy ? shall I print the whole document or the email will be enough? they said the boarding can be denied of the insurance is not clear. Thanks
Hi, I think I put the company we used into our online check in! I then printed out the certificate page, I too had the whole document stored as a pdf, but no one asked for it during check in! Hope that helps x
Don't love having to book the entertainment so far in advance. You either got lost or lucky 😂 Does a Santa Outfit count as formal attire. This video should DEFINITELY be on P&O's website. Video was worth the wait!

We enjoyed your full guide and tips on what to do, Rachel and Wills. But not as much as we'd enjoy the food! We have a cell phone that can do all these things, but don't use them. It would be a learning experience for us. Great guide for those either on their way or those who might!

However I was concerned how to get to South Hampton. So we are going to Dublin flying from Liverpool. But next time it looks like a great time!

Good video. Going on Iona for 14 nights in November. Previously been on Arvia the sister ship which was great. I highly recommend the food in Glasshouse which we didn't discover until our last day !

Great video. Little tip for Sindhu, my boyfriend and I were on Iona in April 2024, and we were able to book two weeks before sailing. We decided to do this and paid £10 per person
(£20 in total) which was taken off our bill as well as a 20% discount when we paid.

Funny about the posh coffee. I was reading some reviews of coffee shop in Japan on Facebook and they said it was good enough for everyone but fussy Australians.
Did I mention 40 cent beers and $4 cocktails in Vietnam? For the record a pint is about 12 bucks in Oz so the booze price on your ship ain't horrible.

Great video, so informative and not too long, yet not rushed either! I'm going on a cruise on Iona in two weeks, and it's given me a few ideas for what to book and what to avoid!
One thing though. You do mention at one point bringing a four-gang extension cable. These are not allowed by P&O unless they're for use with essential medical equipment, so anyone bringing one on board might find it confiscated at embarkation.
Thanks so much for watching. Yes we have seen videos to say they've clamped down on the 4 gangs. I think with some American lines you can get cruise approved ones. We honestly didn't know and blatantly packed it (it wasn't confiscated) and we blatantly had it out in the cabin and the steward didn't say anything. @@PostcardAndAPint That's a great idea! My solution for this trip is a single USB power adaptor with 5 USB sockets, so that should be plenty for my needs, and there's also the USB sockets in the bedside lamps. Can't wait for the trip!

Hi, On Iona in 2 weeks. Hoping to use the pools although a cold weather cruise so could you tell me whether there are changing facilities or do you need to strip off near pool. Thank you.
Have an amazing time. What we did was to take our dressing gowns, then we had our swim stuff on, but could cover up. There are lots of loos on board that you could change in, but that's what we always did. There are plenty of towels poolside. So you can have a quick dry off before you make your way back to your cabin. Cheers 🍻
We where on ARVIA the sister ship June July it’s almost the same
lovely ship it was great except for the kids and the big kids never seen so many drunk people in one place

Thanks so much for watching. We would love to sail on Arvia as we loved Iona. There were a fair few kids on this cruise but as we never used the sky some pool, they didn't bother us. We didn't see any drunk people either! Think we go to bed too early or a cold cruise is more sober!! Anyway cheers for watching 🍻
