Great job and nice viv too 👍 Just a friendly tip... Maybe pond liner repair tape could replace the seal between the tarp and wood? Save you smelling the fumes plus would have a greater overlap. Thanks for sharing, lovely voice btw
I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it in future! We don’t have access to pond sealant here really, I could only find actual plastic ponds you dig a hole for so I ended up with tarp and silicone instead. If I could find pond sealant for it it’s be so much easier, I hadn’t heard of pond liner repair tape before so I’m future I’ll look for it, thank you! 😊
Loved the video! I did similar with converting aquariums into vertical vivariums. I like how the black came out better then the clear or white. The smell was super strong. You did an amazing job! Looks great 😁👍
Yeah I've noticed that aquarium sealant has a strong ammonia smell, where as pure 100% silicone doesn't have much of a scent, just as a bit of useful info 😊
Also to make it easier, for the base of the tank i usually get a tin of pond paint from amazon for about £23 to save having to mess with the tarp and it lasts alot longer :) you can also use it for the entirety of the inside of the tank for more of a humid setup, but you would need to take out the vents and seal where they slide in aswell 😊
@leisurequest YO yes covers well aslong as the wood has been sanded to prep for the paint etc And I used a brand called Antel because of the range of colours because i use it for making realistic rocks and wood aswell as waterproofing the base of the tank, I realised I bought it on ebay not amazon aswell but amazon is probably faster
I didn't know that! This silicone is aquarium silicone so water causes it to set, I'm not sure if spraying it would help or hinder but if somebody tries it specifically with aquarium silicone let me know how it goes!
Too complicated - more so than it needs to be - go out and buy gorilla coat and seal, it’s a black liquid rubber- tape around the viv walls at about 4 inches from the bottom and make sure it’s level all around and then paint the whole bottom and sides - the tape creates a really neat line when you finish and peel it off - let it cure and boom job done with no drill holes or faffing with silicone and making it neat - £18.50 a tin and one is more than enough to do more than one viv 👍🏻🍻🏴
Thankyou I never thought of using tarp or pond liner xx

Does that pond paint cover well on a veneered wood like on the vivexotic repti home? Also what's the brand you use? Thanks

Spray the silicon lightly before smoothing actually makes the job easier :)

A tip I found, push the release button straight after your finished and it stops pumping right away 👍
