Only ABBA could get away with a song about picking up in a bar and having a one-night-stand - and having kids dance and sing along to it and their parents don’t care cause it’s ABBA Lol
Reminds me of an interview with actor Alexander Skarsgård -- "Wasn't it embarrassing acting in the nude?" -- Skarsgård looks at interviewer like he/she is stupid: "I'm from SWEDEN."
"Back to get some more!" It sounds like a little bit of a drug/addiction vibe with the hookup culture of the 70s/80s. It actually seems a bit dark to me. Great songwriting and a major vibe!
This is why I tell people to listen to ABBA and the Beatles in chronological order. Those journeys were remarkable and people should always experience the growth and beauty as if you were there. The Beatles (with Ringo) 1962-1970, ABBA 1971ish -1982.....The song you are listening to is about a hook up!
he is like a hysteroid - make everything to focus on himself. Of caurse it is his channel. But it doesnt mean he should not be polite with the guests. I do not need his reaction))
ABBA never really dispersed per se. They’ve just been on an extended hiatus, according to Björn. There are new songs ready to go, probably when the pandemic is behind us. Stig’s daughter says they’re awesome; she cried.
This song is not only very good, the video in the dancefloor, the lightning, the mood becomes hypnotic almost, suggestive,a place you would have loved to be in,dancing your heart out as this video was being made back in time...LOVE it...
The question behind the song is: "Voulez vous coucher avec moi?" So more or less to be or not to be.😁 please react to "Lay all your love on me", another disco style song (in my opinion the best), heavily underrated. There is no video, so no worries to get blocked. Keep on the great work, best from Germany
I believe this was the first and only time ABBA used other musicians to record a song. Voulez-Vouz was recorded in America and the Miami based disco group Foxy - who had their own share of hits - helped out as musicians in the studio.
Get an ABBA shock and listen to 'The Visitors'. It's gloomy and futuristic, and points all the way into the future and it's from 1981 - only two years after Voulez-Vous. It doesn't have a video, but it's the brilliant, BRILLIANT title track of their last album. A masterpiece.
Great song. Summer night city is also a great disco song. (They were never satisfied with the production, but I think its perfect!). Thats me also great and underrated
Thanks for the ABBA. Yeah you better believe this was big in the clubs. The live version from Wembley is great too, it's their opening song. What a way to start a concert.
ABBA's last official video is "Under Attack." At the time, they didn't know it would end up being their last, but it ended up being the most appropriate since the last shot is of them walking out of a garage/warehouse space and away into a blinding white light, as if to the heavens (and, as it ended up being, into music history). Definitely need to check that one out sometime (underrated song as well)
ABBA - The Last Video, made in the first decade of 2000's, is a humorous satire of Abba and the music industry complete with cameo appearances of all four members as well as cameos of other artists who were Abba fans. The dialogue is done mostly with lyrics to the group's songs. Love how at the end they flawlessly blended the elevator scene from Abba The Movie in with this project ! In a way this was to be a cap on all things ABBA, video wise. However the Abba bandwagon rolls on as we shall see within the coming year the new ABBA music videos with the Abba Avatars.....Abbatars
YAY, You decided to watch ABBA perform "VOULEZ-VOUS"! Great reaction - and an EXCELLENT "dissection" of the lyrics, my friend! Not too many people pick up on the subtle lyrical change(-s) on this track. This was at the height of the disco era - and the lyrics (and instrumentals...) reflect the anticipation (of a night full of promises...) and carefree time that we enjoyed as young adults during the mid 1970's to the very early 1980's - before AIDS hit, destroying our time of innocence and pure fun.💃 ABBA's ~ 10 year span as a group produced an incredible amount of extraordinary music, attracting a diversified range of ages and nationalities. Watching (and listening...) to upcoming generations (like Yourself...) "discovering" the talented members of ABBA for the first time is simply amazing, and proving once and for all that this Swedish export will go on for generations to come. 💙💛💙💛 "I HAVE A DREAM" by ABBA is another beautiful track (very different from this one...) that's a MUST listen! As always, looking forward to Your next reaction...💕
The Last Video is just like a tribute comedy bit with cameo appearances by the members of ABBA here and there. It's not really a music video...more like a comedy bit using three of ABBA's songs, I think. IF I remember right, it was to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of their 74 Eurovision victory. The whole video dialogue is made up of ABBA song lyrics. It's just for fun.
Bro, Could you imagine both, Agnetha and Frida, asking ya: "what if I eat you?". So, pls, react to TIGER, official video. Unhapilly, it seems that the awesome last 3 seconds of the track are misteriously missing in all the Off vid I've watched. But...
Hi, I like your reactions. In my opinion, this song is about one night stands: "We've done it all before and now we're back to get some more, you know what I mean." Masters of the scene, nothing promised, no regrets," etc. Abba began with such a squeaky clean image they, along with many other artists, spiced up their lyrics to move with the push for sexual freedom during that era. In fact, Swedish society was at the forefront of the Sexual Revolution.
You are correct. This is disco, just like "Staying Alive". I believe you are hearing the "boots-n-pants-n-boots-n-pants" beat in the background, which was very common in disco music. They keep it very muted in this song, unlike most of their music. You appear to know a lot about ABBA. They kind of broke up in 1982. It wasn't announced. They just stopped performing, but their popularity remained strong in some places, such as Australia. So, they did periodic reunions, even if it wasn't with the entire group. Because of the Mama Mia movies, they have spent more time together, written new music, and are rumored to have a new album coming out this year.
"Saturday Night Fever" was the name of the movie with John Travolta you are refering to and I agree with you I can sense too, that feeling of disco in this song and video.
Hahahaha! Dude! Love the Labelle shout out (“Lady Marmalade”). I find something new every time I watch one of your vids. French huh? Me too!! Marseille and Nice where my lineage is originally from. You are hearing Bee Gees vibes because the backing track for this song was recorded at Bee Gees studio in Miami (Criterion). Bit of trivia, when ABBA made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010, it was The Bee Gees who inducted them! There is no real deep meaning to this song. It was a statement on the state of the times. People went out to clubs, discos, singles bars and “played the game” of picking up or hooking up. 😆
In "The Name of the Game", the narrator is looking for someone to teach her the game of relationships, pick-ups etc. Here's she more experienced, and has mastered the game.
I think they were active from 1972 to 1982 as far as recording. They are back in the studio again now working on a bunch of new tracks. My hope is we'll get another album! For something completely different from their disco days, check out The Visitors (audio) from their last studio album, definitely more on the techno side and pretty dark. Also, check out Frida's big solo hit "I Know There's something Going On" Phill Collins produced that track and plays the drums on it.
I don't know what the last video was, but it would be nice if you react to THE DAY BEFORE YOU CAME and post Abba work by Benny and Bjorn: ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK by Murray Head.
"In 2004, the Jim Henson Company provided the puppets for ABBA's music video The Last Video, in which four small puppets (caricatures of the group members) try to get a recording contract in Stockholm in 1974 by playing a medley of some of the band's biggest hits. The video was originally shot as Our Last Video Ever for the 2004 semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, thirty years after ABBA had won the contest. It was later released on DVD at the request of the former ABBA members, re-titled `The Last Video`. A group of celebrities made small cameo appearances in the video, including each of the four group members and Cher."
"Coucher" in Spanish is "cojer"... very dirty... 😁 I've probably seen all your videos about this band by now, your exploration of ABBA has been the best out there. Other reactions all like them and are impressed by them, but you have learned and appreciated a whole hell of a lot about them. You get it, and you understand them now very well. Great job. And the movie you're thinking about is "Saturday Night Fever". Yep, this is disco. But ABBA style. The band Foxy is collaborating in this song with backup music.
There are a couple of others groups/ bands that also made a great mark in or under 10 years of being active. We have ofcourse The Beatles, who did also 10 or 11 years and my personal treasure, The Mama's and the Papa's who made a huge mark on music history in just two and a half years. There are others, ofcourse, but the impact that ABBA made feels comparable to the two bands I just mentioned. Unforgettable good music making...and a good song will stand the test of time
Love your Abba journey. I'm swedish and grew up on this music🇸🇪 I subbed up🤟 My fave Abba: Chiquita, Eagle, Slipping thru my fingers & I kissed the teacher! Also; Does your mother know & Knowing Me Knowing You. Next?; Metallica, Tom MacDonald, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, Blake Shelton, Meatloaf ...any of the above😎🤣🤣🤣
Yes, I posted a similar comment on another of his videos. If Fabian wants to really reach 1 million subscriptions, he needs to up the game. It's not his first viewing of the video, but to his credit he doesn't claim it is. But musically, it is the wrong place to cut the song.
all of the ABBA songs so far have been happy; but what about something different, can they do sad songs? Try, 'The Day Before You Came', or if you want to go deep try 'The Winner Takes It All'. What do you think?

OMG! Such a valid and hilarious point!!
70's man. Those were the days... Haha (or aha, aha:)
Welcome to the amazing world of ABBA. The frenzy in Australia in the 70's was amazing. ABBAmania !!
" SUMMER NIGHT CITY " also has a good vibe . The video is shot spanning around Stockholm .
If u like that song then listen to the cover done by Therion .. Really good. Rockversion
This is why I tell people to listen to ABBA and the Beatles in chronological order. Those journeys were remarkable and people should always experience the growth and beauty as if you were there. This, "Does Your Mother Know", "Kisses Of Fire" "Angeleyes" and "The King Has Lost His Crown" are my favorite songs from their 1979 album
Don't forget As Good As New!

No excuse needed.

One of my favorite songs ever. I STILL will throw this into a random Disco House set from time to time

I believe this was the first and only time ABBA used other musicians to record a song. Voulez-Vouz was recorded in America and the Miami based disco group Foxy - who had their own share of hits - helped out as musicians in the studio.
Two others I can think of. A pianist on Dance while the music still goes on and Raf Ravenscroft’s saxophone on the unreleased Just Like That.
Recorded at Bee Gees Criterion Studio in Miami

AH! The Visitors is one of my favorite Abba songs!
I agree, that whole album is fantastic, sooo many great songs!
If you wanna see Bjorn singing as a lead, you must watch "Does your mother know".
The live version mixed with Hole in your soul is the best!

"Fernando" is the best showcase of Freda's voice, so over looked.

This song is not only disco style. There are also a lot French Arabian elements in it.
I always said. If music spans multiple generations it’s a hit.
In "The Name of the Game", the narrator is looking for someone to teach her the game of relationships, pick-ups etc. Here's she more experienced, and has mastered the game.
Gotcha! Ya talking bout Saturday Night Fever with BeeGees - Classic! 👌🏼
Dancing Queen were recorded at Fridas favourite club in Stockholm - Alexandras
You're going to LOVE the rest of the voulez-vous album. It goes in new directions while retaining the ABBA magic.

The song is about hedonism - the message is 'you seem up for it, am I right?'. So seventies, pre AIDS.
You’re killed the best part with your first stop
Yes, I posted a similar comment on another of his videos. If Fabian wants to really reach 1 million subscriptions, he needs to up the game. It's not his first viewing of the video, but to his credit he doesn't claim it is. But musically, it is the wrong place to cut the song.
ABBA *and* The Bee Gees owned the late 70s!
Masters of the scene!
It's, a disco song by abba, they had many disco hits back then
The last video they did as an active group was "Under Attack" in 1982.
@Fortworthfabian - You have to check out my two favorite ABBA songs - "Does your Mother Know" - " Angel Eyes"
always amazing!
In 1979the uk was full of punk and ABBA we’re trying to keep up
I love that face you make when you see Bjorn singing. LOL
Does your Mother Know!!! It’s lots of fun! 😘
Lookin' for the name of the movie with John Travolta? "Grease" is the word, is the word, is the way you're feelin'
I was only a kid so I didn't get the meaning of the title. But I'm sure every adult recognised it from the song "Lady Marmalade"...!
Please hear Summer night city 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for your reaction Fabian
Abbas MOVE ON is the best song
oh yeah, you know what I mean!
There is a 12” US remix to this track which is definitely worth checking out.
They used to play songs they were working on at for instance the Stockholm night club Alexandras to see how the reaction was.
God knows I love Abba, but for me this one is the most formulaic disco song Abba ever did.
Yo Fortworth,do yourself a favor and look up live at Wembley. Live cuts really show them in their element.
Think its about one night stands
That’s what I just said! It’s quite obvious...you know what I mean...
Funky ABBA
Visitors by ABBA
Funny you saying at the beginning several times „you know what I mean“ a line that is the song as well .... you know what I mean Voulez Vous...
The title of the song is French which means do you want
.
Saturday Night Fever is the movie with John Travolta
Saturday Night Fever was the movie by the Bee Gees
The movie you meanson is called Saturday night fever.my man.
all of the ABBA songs so far have been happy; but what about something different, can they do sad songs? Try, 'The Day Before You Came', or if you want to go deep try 'The Winner Takes It All'. What do you think?
Eagle
It has a sexual connotation.
It's a one night stand game bro
For me it’s about one night stands
I think it’s just about people meeting in a club and deciding whether to hook up or not. Basically agreeing to have a one-night stand.
One things differ is gibbs bro.had left one,the other is gone and andy too,ABBA is still here.
Why havent you done " Our last Summer " FORTHWORTHFABIAN you will love it pne of Abbas best songs
It's about going clubbing and picking up a one night stand ;)
You should really react to “summer night city”.
I think you mean Saturday Night feever with Travolta
A lot of analysis for a song about hooking up with someone at a club lol.
I have a mashup of Voulez-vous and Get Lucky on my channel, not only are they of similar meaning, they work quite well together
1:54 This bit gives me serious "Bond 77" vibes (ruclips.net/video/PGvk2DXxIGE/видео.html and skip to 0:20)
You need see THE film mamma Mia with cher
Do a reaction on One Of Us by AbbA.
Voulez-Vous means do you want you haven't got it
ABBA was not a disco band!!! Voulez Vous was disco inspired because disco was huge at the time
Seizure warning.
dude, the lyrics are very simple. It's about genitals interacting right now and we're not going to exhange contact information for tomorrow.
Oh man, you stopped it mid note! Shame, shame, shame...
Voulez-Vous means do you want. So you don't speak French
You need improve your French before speaking
