I gotta say this looks to be a step in the right direction, truck driver never looked good to me even before it was released. This game however seems to be much more realistic approach to trucking. If the devs support this title and expand the map in the future it will be a definite buy
It meets all my expectations with my experience of Truck Driver... The repetition of motorways doesn't bother me as, funnily enough, motorways are by design pretty soulless affairs, what's important though is distance, we are truck/HGV drivers, not local delivery drivers, so having this much of Germany playable is spot on, I cannot wait to set up some multi drop routes and spend hours driving around picking up and dropping off, something we couldn't enjoy at all in Truck Driver.

I really like that there are people working on a proper truck sim for consoles. This one looks already much better than TruckDriver
I'm an ETS2 person, however the getting out the truck part is something that makes this game better than ETS2

ETS2 uses the photos from a open source website then. Or somewhere you can buy samples.
All if not most of the photos are of SCS employees and associates (including a couple streamers)
This game is a definite buy. The overall gameplay looks amazing. So much extra to do. Cant wait until the release. Will buy on first day. Loving your videos, very informative which is important and very enjoyable 👍👍
Why didnt Truck Driver do any of this real shame.
I’m buying this, hoping it’s a better experience along the lines of ETS2 as Truck Driver was poor. It was just point A to B.
This AND Ets2/ATS needs rougher roads that shake the cabin like IRL.
I've been waiting for a long time to get a good truck game for console. I hope this comes soon.
This looks great. I like that u can get out of the vehicle, open doors and sign for deliveries is a nice touch. Would be cool to actually load vehicle with a pallet truck or fork lift and secure the load with straps.. but maybe I’m asking too much. And if it had those trucks with a forklift in the back, would be cool

I remember seeing this a while back and said to myself, I would love if it came to console!!! Personal opinion, others may agree.....but this is what Truck Driver WISHES it could be!! I played that for at most just over a week and have not touched it since. I genuinely regret spending the money on that after having high hopes for it.

ive been playing ETS since the start and theres loads of things that could be 100% better
Looks like a great option for console only gamers. Definitely a massive improvement over Truck Driver. Seems like the map will be this games biggest hindrance at the moment, but that’s something that can always be improved/expanded on over time
It's biggest hindrance??? 6500 km of roads with a 1:5 scale, for consoles this is MASSIVE for a game of this genre... Some routes will have you driving for over an hour, that is a big deal for console players not to mention from a scale point of view it beats ETS2 hands down with its 1:19 scale

yeah and I'm not a huge fan of the conventional trucks, I'm a huge fan of cab overs. also you do have an American version of this its called American Truck Simulator.

Great video Jason! Another aspect of this game I love is the multi-drop/pick-up aspect. You can plan out your route of pick-ups, rearrange them into an efficient route and also plan out all your drop-offs. You can be out on the road for hours this way. You can also do the same for all your hired drivers which works really well :)

Howcome ETS2 didn't come to consoles? It isn't like it is graphically demanding, and I'm sure it was shown as coming to Xbox at one of the E3 press conferences?

I think it comes down to manpower and there's only partial controller support.
Opinion: Also I don't think there's much of a market for it on consoles, since it's more of a casual platform.

There are some great little features in this game which add immersion. But, the graphics are awful, looks like a game from 10 years ago. The textures are abysmal 😔 aswell. This won't sell well I dont think.
This game is alot better than truck driver and that sound when the back doors open awesome and its more realistic can't wait too get the game

It's nice to see trucking games finally find its way to consoles and this one looks better than truck driver and as you mentioned getting out of the truck and doing everything manually is a great feature it adds a lot to simulation, can't wait for it

I still don't think I wanna get this day one if available on consoles. Soedesco really left a bad taste in my mouth. I am still fatigued by it. Need recovery time.

@@GametechUKTrue, but still this time I will watch the reviews, the developer's road map and future plan for this game. But have to be honest I wanted Ets2 on consoles, I don't think unity engine does well on last gen consoles. Better wait to see if SCS ports ets2 to next gen consoles or not.

I can tell this is gonna be a first gen successful truck game for consoles. Also, they should smooth the curves cos they look like lines rather than realistic.

All ETS2 and ATS need to add is the opening of doors, being able to get out of the truck IN GAME (not just in the garage) and maybe some very minor survival aspects. Things like oil changes, opening the hood, checking fluids and stuff. You see games like On The Road trying to emulate that, but the only ones that can pull it off are SCS.
Now, if I had to get out to connect air, raise the landing gear... I would probably hyperventilate and die of glee.

I think that everything I wanted in truck driver is here, I agree that the multi drop aspect will be really good. As my laptop is now useless and I'm missing ETS2 this is really what I would like.
I play a lot of ETS2 and ATS, and also have a PS4 Pro. To be honest, I'd want/expect this to look significantly better before I bought it on console. Many of the buildings look like cardboard cutouts.

Sorry but its ets and ats for me. The scenery on here is just like watching a 10 second video on loop whilst driving on the motorways. I won't be buying
I have the Truck Driver for Xbox One but this looks definetely more interesting game. Real, licensed trucks is one big reason, and the possibility to get out of the car to walk around, etc.

But comparing to ETS2/ATS, the graphics is a total BS. I lost my interest within 5 minutes, sorry...

Looks quite pretty but the driving physics don't seem convincing at all. No real feel of inertia. No real connection to the road. Just looks like you're floating along.
Both this and that abomination truck driver are wannabe ETS2’s, I’ll give it to OTR at least they managed to get legal permission from Scania and MAN to use their branded products in the game. While this graphically looks better than ETS2, ETS2 is literal years ahead of this - I’ve played ETS2 for years myself at this point (I have over 2,000 hours clocked on steam) and I can tell anyone who isn’t into such games that a few cities of a section of a country is abysmally small - unless this is 1:1 scale, which I’m 95% certain it isn’t, it’s effectively a demo disguised as a full game.
Sure OTR has a couple of things that are definitely done better than SCS but the modding community for ETS2 alone has secured ETS2 position as the number one HGV driving game for years, one look at promods puts this game to shame - hell.. it even puts SCS and the vanilla version of ETS2 to shame. There’s also the unofficial MP mod which was backengineered by one guy (who a few years later actually got employed by SCS) which the official devs thought was virtually impossible hence why they never bothered.
You can only drive the MAN E6 and Scania R in OTR as well, I hope that wasn’t an attempt at deception at the start. ETS2, on the other hand, has the Scania R and S series, the Renault premium, magnum and T series, the Volvo FH series, the Iveco stralis, the old DAF and the E6, the MAN TGX and E6 and the Mercedes actros both the old one and the 2019 E6. The only time I’ll be impressed with such games is if SCS ever moves ETS2 to console which I doubt will ever happen, I have to admit though I wonder if Microsoft bought them would having their backing be enough to entice them to make that jump - they’d have a solid footing for establishing an official MP that could have the possibility of being cross platform beyond the pseudo MP which is world of trucks (www.worldoftrucks.com) but isn’t nothing more than a glorified external job tracker and screenshot sharer.
From playing ETS2 as long as I have and as open as SCS are, trying to get legal permission from these official real world HGV manufacturers is close to impossible and takes actual years to get permission for even just one model (they could build every real world HGV for their games and simply just have to release them but if they don’t get permission from the respective manufacturer then it can’t legally be added to the game) so that’s why the only game that will catch my eye for console will be ETS2 as they already have most established real world HGVs brand in Europe - SCS even have ATS now as well, so they have a handful of American truck brands for ATS too I believe (I don’t play ATS, so don’t know for sure).

Yo buddy i know ya don't play much of this anymore but could you do me a massive favour, could you message your contact to see if there is anymore updates coming to console in the future as of why is there a reason making 10s of millions on the game and talk of more trucks coming but zero sign of updates since the last one where we can modify our trucks to put decals but no customizations like wheels and bumpers and bigger exhausts and so on, its a pity they dont have the time to put all that euro truck has to offer on, on the road tho
Will their be American trucks and American version if not for me keep it I will stay with AMERICAN TRUCK SIMULATOR
I want to say this Game is a better version of TruckDriver.
But something that hit bad at this game is: isnt that much details on this Trucks.
So i would like to give it: 6/10

ETS is really missing out. If they made it playable on consoles, they would make serious profit and plenty of interest but for some reason ETS doesn't do that. Maybe it's the graphic barrier for consoles, but I don't think so. ETS graphics aren't that good anyway. Consoles can handle games such as RDR2 and GTA5 and other high graphic games.
I really wish ETS was available on console. Well, maybe this new game will change my mind and fall in love with this new game. We will see.

Unity sucks and looks like from 2005, why cant they use more sophisticated game engines? This game feature wise will never become something like ETS2 but why at least not make it look beautiful? ETS2 is no where near AAA game, but still is full of features, beautiful map etc. it has take years and years, but these games, this and Truck Driver, they all start like ETS1 but dont really evolve in to something worh playing over time.
The worst software for PS4 EVER!!! Trucks are falling into the ground, even if you reset the game. Vehicles appearing from nowhere behind, and are driven into you from behind so your goods get damaged at the start. At the red light npc vehicles start to push you from behind and so on. The shittiest game ever made in the 21th century. I wonder why no youtuber mentions it "don`t fuckin buy it it is a regret". The road dissapears underneath you and guess what, your goods get damaged again. It is not relaxing at all, it is another problem in your life.
Can you ask them to ad Volvo,Daf and Mercedes benz?

It seems a lot better than Truck Driver, I hoped that game would of developed a lot more by now but am very disappointed in it, this game is a lot better, it would be good if like ETS2 they would give you an option to skip the delivery parking, or make it easier and give you less xp, and the map part, it is big, but it would be brilliant if they would add other countries eventually, but I know I am not going to get my dream, but I wish ETS2 or ATS would come to these next gen consoles, we can always live in hope, and just a quickie Jase, do you think Flight Simulator will come to the new Xbox

I also tried Truck Driver on the PS4 Pro but it just keeps crashing and to this day it was never fixed hence I quit the game. I hope that this game does not crash and just works. It looks promising.
I have this game on Xbox. I just recently bought it and I was very disappointed that I cannot use my steering wheels and pedals on it. It makes me very mad, and hopefully I can get a refund or they can make it update for Xbox and PlayStation players to use steering wheel and pedals for the game

liKEING this so far, only experienced euro and american truck sim. like this aspect of the game of getting out and so on thats a big seller for this really whished euro truck sim had that.
It’s a nice game graphics brilliant but one thing 👎🏽 why left hand drive specially, if lm not wrong UK is right hand drive apart from that can’t wait for the game to come out 👍🏽

Its looking very good with the correct signs unlike truck driver, looks like germany and the autobahn. Being a coach tour driver driving all over Europe does look like a game i will buy.

using a controller and can't figure out how to change the gearbox out of rank mode
Trucks don't use petrol lol and the Tacho would in the real world switch to drive automatically other modes are entered manually break other work POA ect
