The 15,000 acre lake was created by a series of violent earthquakes in 1811-1812 that caused the Mississippi River to flow backwards for a short period of time, creating Reelfoot Lake. (from Reelfoot Lake State Park website). Also, this area was heavily damaged during by the EF4 tornado that ripped through on December 10, 2021. Several homes and businesses were destroyed. 3 people dead with 1 still missing.
You forgot about Ludwig van Beethoven. He was born on this day in 1770. He wrote music that was amazing! By the time he wrote his Symphony No. 7 (the first one in A Major), Beethoven was as deaf as a post!
