  • "Let's say you are able to celebrate your 100th birthday, you're able to go to all the countries you've always wanted to go to, you're able to do it on your own two feet, and see your great grandchildren grow up, who wouldn't want that?" In the final episode of Wired UK's four-part documentary series, we explore the negative narrative and language surrounding ageing in the media and public policy, and why this must change.

We need to make the planet live a healthier longer life too, otherwise the human parasites will die along with their host.

That's a separate issue turdface, not to mention that once Fusion Nuclear energy becomes a reality in the next decade then that "muh climate change" will slowly become obsolete.

Humans aren't supposed to be parasites. From both a religious and philosophical view, it makes sense to take responsibility for the planet and look after it. We have the resources and faculties to make change, good or bad is subjective. I have hope and trust in people - that we will soon see positive change.
      In short: Be hopeful :)

There are so much taking about economic growth and longer living. I dont see how this is possible when greed, wide gap in social standards and indcome is playing one big role in the evolusjon of time. Over 1billion people dont have eletricity and many more are facing physical and psychological challenges. There is so many things we need to fix on this planet before thinking of expanding our evoltion on ageing. And to think that this would serve every human as a god thing, i think is a little to easy.

So you propose we quit all research into the area? And try and 'fix' the world first? I think that's a tall order... Even if the rich countries somehow became more generous... Religion, wars, politics will always prevent a large number of people from getting even basic healthcare, let alone preventative healthcare. Also, if the west doesn't bother with this technology, the dictators, like China will. Then they'll reap all the economic benefits and sell it to very wealthy westerners.

@Ash Phillips I also think we need more reserch on this topic. The attitude in this world towards unity is a far way to go when economic growth always be on the agenda. China is already involved in this tech, they just dont share a lot of it online.. like the west...

@@glennkarlgard4042 i know what you're saying. i do have a theory about it though.
i see a lot of people want the same thing, peaceful life and peaceful economy. i also believe it's achievable, because everyone wants the same thing by default (our social nature), so it should be easy. we're not monkeys anymore.
However, the major obstacle is the current "attitude in this world" as you mentioned. And my theory is, that currently, many of the world leaders, and influential decision makers, are hidden or unrealized psychopaths.
I believe world leaders and top businessmen wont make decisions that kills a lot of people and bring suffering to a lot of people, if they arent psychopaths in the first place.
so to save the world, and our future, a device that can screen psychopathy quickly and effectively must be invented.
