Another terrific hidden gem! Never heard this before! I always wondered if they commented on those goofy Shoedini commercials of his, and they did it with him in the room! Ugh, Howard going on about missed opportunities at freaking SNL, meanwhile, he wasted the last ten years of Gilbert. Keep posting the gold!
Why did Howard act like Gilbert’s career wasn’t huge? Even by 2010, Gilbert had amassed a huge legacy in movies, TV, and standup. Not to mention his voice over career. When he died last month, Gilbert’s career was one of the greatest in entertainment history.
So the amateur clinical psychoanalysis - I mean, "interview" - would be more revealing. And as always, Gilbert saw right through it and sabotaged Howard (and interrupting Robin, of course) by simply agreeing with everything he said, true or not.
I really think it was that Howard, like Gilbert hated seeing anyone else's success. In Howard's case though, he reveals it by demeaning those around him.But Gilbert had more command over these situations than Howard would like it believe. Listen to the episode where he gets heat for going in Dabella's show, he wouldn't concede, it was the greatest power move ever.
Yes, this was clearly against everything about Gilbert's persona outside of Stern Show appearances. On his own podcast and every other thing he'd ever done he always played up how legendary, original, and inarguably hilarious he was. Not to mention his constant, flashy expenditures he would flaunt. That hateful fuck Howard just had to tear Gilbert down cause he's so insecure. It's the only thing that makes sense.
I think Howie became so paranoid of Gilbert dropping the N bomb he was afraid it would come back on the show. Simply the best guest. Nobody made the crew laugh so hard.
@@yopacific yeah Howard even said that Gilbert’s comedy just didn’t match what he was looking for anymore, Howard went the safe and mainstream route. Without Artie there as well, you’d have an audience of people who at best got Gilbert’s obscure humor and at worst he goes into a racist tirade and causes Howard a bunch of problems. I’m glad him and Artie linked back up though as those two together were dynamite. On one podcast together they did nothing but old movie references and died laughing for literally like an hour straight

@@csedan510 You’re right! Gilbert didn’t give a shit and would not budge.

I never heard him make fun of artie stabbing himself haha
you gotta do it multiple times.
For all the people who believe the lie about Gilbert being banned because he spit on the cupcakes, this show is proof he was on after that.

50:25 “Well uh, hello theeeaaaah” god damn it 😆
When Gilbert said he had a hand tremor... dude.
Gilbert just played it down, his muscular dystrophy was starting to really effect him and he blamed it on the coffee. Aww Gilbert
Gilly mocking Artie's suicide -- yet another example of why he was the GOAT.

God bless you sir
Omg amazing treat
This is so gooood.
Love Gilbert. Just cant stand this era of Stern. Makes my skin crawl, for some reason..
And USA Up All Night 🌙
Though Gil is always great, this painfully sounds like the beginning of the unfunny Stern show.
Yesh
It’s Sirius….is this from 2006? Can anyone confirm the year of Gilbert’s last appearance on Stern?
15th of October 2012 was Gilbert's last appearance.
This faux 'I'm-Really-Interested-In-Your-Response' voice from Howchy is insufferable..
“Rubber Balls & Liquor” IS DEFINITELY NOT AS COOL OR AS INTELLIGENT AS “Howard Stern Comes Again”!!!
