Hello adc players :) Question from a goldie. Is it more beneficial to pick your champion to counter your matchup, or to synergize with your team? For example, if your support doesn't counterpick and instead plays the losing matchup. Should I synergize or go through with the counterpick
context dependent, in lower elos I'd say to just pick for lane or what you're most comfortable on. Most matchups in low elo aren't exactly as much of a counterpick as it may seem since the other player might not even understand how fucked you are or how to even properly punish you. There'll be millions of mistakes happening within that lane that'll most likely put you ahead if you just focus on fundamentals and principals of the game like CS'ing, teamfighting, macro, learning to track the jungler, etc. As you get higher, the matchups may become more troublesome, but in Gold, I doubt they'll even know what game they're playing
To add to this, I'd recommend picking what you feel most comfortable on. For me I take a guess as to how each team's champs are going to operate and decide who I feel like will do the most in those situations. Very common example in solo queue is if my team has 3-4 champs that want to dive and the enemy team does too, I'll often pick something like Ashe to give my team the advantage in engage and play around my slows to make myself as hard to dive as possible. EDIT: just remembered to add though, try to find your pick that doesn't auto lose to their support before considering the rest of the comps. Lane is that important.
Exactly what Jono was saying, you mostly want to counterpick in lower elos so long as you know how to play the champ to a good extent. Example: Maybe they have a comp where Vayne would be a draftwide counter, but you don’t really play her. In that situation it’d be better to draft a champ you feel better on that would have a similar effect (kai, kog, etc)
@@aoiminase3554 it surprises me Ioki forgot/didn't know. Rell is one of his pocket picks in flex matches and her shield shatter is a big part of her kit.
my argument for biscuit is at 19:25 if sneaky would have biscuit secondary they would need 1 or 2 more auto from trist to kill wich would have killer her with the tp. storm is good but early tempo and health is better imo if you disagree go for it i might be wrong : )
In low elo, under plat, gathering storm is good since no one know how to end games but yeah, once you're past plat 4 the rune is a lot worst then other secondary like ravenous, taste of blood or biscuit, boots
@@SakuraIsAss I agree that sorcery secondary is in most cases inferior to Dom or precision secondary, I'd say it's a toss up on whether it's better than insp secondary. Boots are great, but personally I don't think cookies is worth it over cosmic insight. I think boots/insight is probably preferable though because there's nothing else worth taking with gathering Storm; manaflow is pretty unnecessary as most ADs take presence of mind now, absolute focus gives very negligible stats, and nimbus cloak is generally good but won't be the difference in most games.
@@lizzardthegizzardwizzard6739 yes sorcery sucks haha cosmic insight is great on support since it reduce active and passif cd on items like moonstone/shurelias but adcs usually dont have items where that does a difference and 30 sec on flash isn't super strong plus in high elo, if you are not full health you will get dived 2v2 or 3v2 easily. going dom/precision is the ''greedy'' choice for lategame but biscuit is a lot better at securing the early scaling. explains why pros almost alwais go biscuit boots on adcs. you are weak early and need to scale, better late runes won't do much difference since items and levels spike are better. the hard part is getting there witout getting dived lvl 3-4-5-6 because you were half hp and the ennemy were at full. yet again just my opinion i play around d4 with my duo (im probably boosted honnestly) so correct me if you think a part of what i said was wrong :)
