How much studying of ballet music and librettos do Vaganova students do? Thank you so much for all the thought you’ve clearly put into your analysis of Nutcracker as a ballet! It’s such a lovely way to think of the ballet’s meaning and the intent of the composer and choreographers.

Hello from Canada. Maria you are not only beautiful young woman but talented. This was really insightful. I have been following your training sessions for a while, which you have no idea how much they've helped me to get in shape but also stretching my tight muscles. Please don't stop them. I'm quite sure many people around the world enjoy them and benefit from them. You are really great teacher. I'm no ballet dancer FYI, just an old sports woman who found a new way to exercise. Hi to your sis!! Hugs to you.

A very interesting discription of Nutcracker, a ballet work that had the opportunity to see in my city, Thessaloniki, a week ago, by an international dance company. Now I got a bit more wise of what I saw thanks to you!

This was Wonderful!! I just finished dancing in the Party Scene as Russian Mother. I have loved this since I was little. That is the 1st Ballet I saw, and the reason I fell in love with ballet. Hope your feeling better in your recovery.🤗💝💝💝

Thank you so much for this view into the ballet. It was the first full length ballet I ever saw and was enchanted. Later I had the opportunity to dance as a Snowflake.

The Nutcracker is the only ballet performance I remember seeing in person, and even though it may not be any less foreign than it was for me in the mid 80's watching it as a child in the Northeast, it's now a little less intimidating.

I first saw the Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet in Boston with my three daughters and my Girl Scout troops. Then took them to watch other productions as we moved to other states. You are a true professional and a credit to your profession. Brava.

Привет! Maria Khoreva.

I've watched a few ballets entirely, The Nutcracker is one of them, and it's the one I like the least, though I kinda like a climat, it is warm, nice, 'hugging' in a way. It seems to give a dancer some possibilities of expression of some childish modes I guess? I find it cute though more 'dramatic' and 'serious' are ones I like more.

Dear Maria. First of all I hear your perfect English and I can see your positive emotions when you speak about ballet.
I appreciate your knowledge about the Nutcracker Ballet and his historical background. Secondly - maybe I am wrong so don't be offended at me - I think You said too many items, so it's hard to maintain concentration and memorize them all. Anyway, I'm looking forward to next episode of the series. Take care.

Lovely ballet and thanks for explaining it. But why is the main character name different. Masham in Russia and clara in the uk and usa

    • @ahones2255
      @ahones2255 6 месяцев назад +3

In the original story written by E.T.A. Hoffman the girl was called Clara, and in the later version by Alexandre Dumas she was renamed Marie. In Russia both Maria and Masha are used. Balanchine chose Marie in his NYCB production. Nureyev for his Royal Ballet version preferred Clara.
