    We continue to get dumber and dumber as a society. I stopped watching ESPN shows a long time ago and now I can't stand any of ESPN's pregame sports coverage anymore. The last one I used to like was ESPN college gameday and even that has gone significantly downhill the last couple of years.

    ESPN only wants to keep "personalities" AKA clowns.

    It's hard to understand why ESPN would fire Zach Lowe and keep Kendrick Perkins.

      This!!! ^^^^ Perkins is a buffoon who continues to embarrass himself.

      @@D.A.P_100unfortunately I have to agree with you. In today’s social media world, you don’t have to be good, but if you’re loud and outrageous, you get rating.

    Great video and analysis Joe…we’ve been seeing this TikTok-ification of sports media over the last few years, coupled with an ever increasing focus on sports betting
    Sports media is becoming less about the game, and more about capturing your attention throughout the day
    It makes sense from a business perspective, everyone is chronically online and we consume probably more entertainment on our phones than any place else
    I miss the 90s when would wake up, went to school, came home, did homework, wondered around for a few hours, ate dinner, and then watch the Lakers game
    I’d be glued to that TV for hours 😂
    Now I can catch any game or highlight at any point of the day and although convenient, the games themselves are hardly an experience anymore

  • @FrancisSiuChock
    @FrancisSiuChock 3 дня назад +4

    I've said it elsewhere, clearly Zach did not shout loud enough like the loud mouth Stephen A. Smith, nor did he have controversial enough viewpoints. Stephen A Smith is by far the most OVERPAID broadcaster at ESPN at $12M per year 🙄 Stupid thing is Zach is one of the best at what he does, insightful, balanced and methodical. All you are going to get at ESPN are useless pundits that just have viewpoints based on who they root for and NOT facts. I'm switching the channel as soon as the loud mouth comes on anyway.

      It’s so interesting the depth of brainwashing and sheep-think. People regurgitate terms they hear from their idols..and misplace it. Everyone is a “GOAT” to anyone who likes them. This is such an odd era.

    • @steinfi3
      @steinfi3 День назад

      Zach Lowe is the best sports journalist out there. Incredible knowledge, insight, writing, best podcast, you name it. If he’s not the GOAT he is GOAT-like. It makes no sense for any company that wants to be the best in their industry to let go of the best.

    In all fairness, if Stephen A. got sacked, people would blame him and not the network. So I am not sure it is the media company’s job to monetize Zach’s content. Anyone would stop investing in a stock that does not accrue interest or pay dividends.
    That said, he has talent and will likely find something else.

    • @steinfi3
      @steinfi3 День назад

      They had the most talented journalist, writer, podcaster in the business for a bargain, while paying insane money for loud people with click-baitey takes. Either it’s their fault for not making it work, or most of us are all too stupid to deserve real content anymore.
